I was wondering if you have any tips for trying to start pointe? I’m in pre pointe right now
Well, it’s definitely always up to a teacher on when you’ll be ready for pointe shoes. But I would say do lots of core exercises; crunches and planks help a lot. The stronger your core is the easier points will be. And also strengthening your feet, practice rolling through demi pointe and pulling up through your legs. The more up feeling you have the less you’ll feeling you’ll have in your pointe shoes once you get them. And never assume your pointe shoes are dead before talking to a teacher!!! Lots of girls assume their shoes are dead and get new ones when they don’t need to. Take your time, I’ve been on pointe for about 3 years and Im only on my third pair 😂, hopes this helps!
@ tysm!!
@ ofc!!
I’m thinking of starting ballet soon, I’m starting at 13 and was wondering if you had any tips?❤
@@Stella_Hale115 yeah of course!! So I attend Union County Youth Ballet in North Carolina, and they offer beginner teen classes. Not all studios offer that though, so I would first of all look up studios in your area and see what they offer. But sometimes you may be put in a class with kids younger than you or sometimes you have enough skill you can be put in a class with people your age. You’ll probably have to try different age classes (if the studio doesn’t offer a beginner teen class) to help teachers and yourself figure out what works best for you. You won’t be put on pointe immediately, I danced for ten years before being put on pointe at 11 almost 12. And I’ve been dancing since I was 2, and I’m 14 now and I’ve been on pointe for a little over 2 years and I’ve been dancing in total for 12 years. But, I do have a friend who started at 14, and she’s 17 and on pointe now. So, you’d probably do just regular classes for a year or a little more before working on getting your pointe shoes. But my best advice is give as much time as possible to ballet, start with three classes a week, and just work as hard as you can. Stretching at home and building strength in your core. Your teacher can give you some strength building exercises. Hope this helps!!
