Time Stamps! 0:05 - I. IL Sambatore 5:05 - II. Un Bossa In Maschera 9:45 - III. Don Tangolletto This is an amazing interpretation of this piece. Even in the improvised cadenza areas 1:48, 4:03, 8:16, 14:41, his playing ALWAYS matched the piece. His cadenzas sound like they belong in the song, and it’s great. I am in absolute love with this interpretation, which is kind of funny, as I was not as big a fan of his Concertino Da Camera performance in the same competition, as I feel he’s played better than what he did there. But this piece was great to listen to!
They are most likely not improvised, but still just as impressive imo!

Why are there so many strings? It’s scored for 2 violins, one viola, one cello and one double bass. Don’t they drown the winds this way?

Nice playing. Really nice. But why all the instruments? It’s sax and 11 instruments. This seriously overbalances the sax and makes it hard to hear the nuances where they count. Sometimes the sax is barely audible.
I agrée this song was originally made for 1-2 of each instrument not 5
