The Next Chapter Vlog 100 Days of Retirement
Fog, very heavy Fog, right against the mountains for me. No snow, though.
I used to live over by denver, got some decent snow
🎉I'm in central Texas close to the Oklahoma border and it's been really unseasonably warm ( like spring time temps) here
happy new year
Thank you, sir. May 2025 be somehow better than 2024.
Greatest comment; "...sounds like a villain from Dick Tracy." There are probably less thatn 10 per cent of our American population who recognize that reference! Thank you, and continue to perplex your younger audience!
Congratulations! Just started studying for mine.
Welcome to the no stress Non-Christmas Christmas Crew!! Been on this crew now over a decade and wouldn't go back. Every weekend before the weekend before Christmas we schedule time with each family member group and usually done with "family & friends Christmases" by around the 20th. Then we do a +/- week of grocery shopping and then do nothing and stay away from stores and such until a day or two after Christmas. We do have a day of church with or without family around Christmas. We have just a handful of sentimental pieces of Christmas items that we put out. We have LED lights in our window all year that we change to a Christmas color and we hang a Christmas piece on the front door. We have a tree but it's a foot high that goes on the coffee table and is one of our sentimental pieces. We bake or cook or whatever our heart and ancestors advise to do on Christmas and Christmas Eve and light a candle and say our prayers at Christmas but it's just the two of us. Sometimes might buy a dinner from somewhere open. Then a couple days after Christmas is when we purchase gifts and do a weekend Christmas thing closer to Easter where we get together and open items and play games at our house with family. We've done this for a few reasons over the years. 1- we're not going into debt paying these high prices because it's commercially promoted. Because the after sales are in my price range usually. Plus the items we purchase for the family the weekend get togethers before Christmas we buy all year long and save for the end of the year. 2 - I would get so stressed out it prior years that it was embarrassing and hard to look at the pictures. Cold sore break outs from stress that would need urgent care intervention most years. Lack of sleep illness in most cases during this time. And then severe clinical depression the day after Christmas that would last a week or more due to fatigue and let down and the like. Depression & sickness to the point that my employer always knew I'd call in sick after Christmas and I came close to losing my job a few times. Not worth it. We like our "Christmas" around February or so because it's a nice surprise for family, that's expected now, but special since it's a time we want to spend and not just because the calendar says it's socially required. Plus they get a calmer less seasonally depressed and enjoyable me and my husband. Means the world to them now to enjoy a February "Christmas". Means the world to us to just enjoy the days off work at Christmas to Netflix & chill and enjoy each other in peace. Our favorite part though is when we do venture out to watch people and the crazy they are over a day required by society 6 days before the end of the year. They all look and act insane!! I can't imagine ever going back now, the price to my emotional & mental health would never be worth it. Enjoy this time to just reflect on the year. Enjoy the cold snowy evenings, other people's light decorations, and spend the time doing what's in your heart to tie up lose ends and close out the year, in your own way.

My favorite sandwich is from a place in San Francisco a corner store. It’s ham salami and Swiss on hard sourdough toasted the best sandwich in the world. It’s a place called Roxy food store. If you’re ever in the neighborhood, you should try them. They have a bunch of other types of sandwiches one is better than the next.
I got fired from my job in high tech on 9/11/01. I knew it was coming on that day and driving to work for the last time I heard about this insane shit that was happening in NYC. Didn't mean anything, it was just a coincidence. Driving home at 1:30 that afternoon, I thought about what I wanted to do with my life, and I realized that "working a job" and taking all that bs wasn't it. I became a full-time, professional artist. "Retired" at 50 and never looked back. For those that don't know, there an IRS plan called 72T that lets you withdraw from your 401k/IRA before official retirement age without incurring a penalty. Financial "advisers" will charge you 1k to set it up, but it's only a form you can download that takes about 4.5 minutes to fill out. Google 72T
That looks yummy

As always an enjoyable experience. I go to Culver’s on occasion for the shrimp platter.
86 percent of Canadian recycling goes to landfills. Its literally a scam to soothe the people who believe in climate change. I only put out recycling because they pick it up weekly vs biweekly garbage.
I prefer to keep my head in The sand and think that all is well

There was 18-19M less votes than '20, and assuming those voters are still alive, that speaks volumes. So I don't think you're alone in the choice not to vote for president. My husband did the same and I almost joined everyone but decided at the last minute to at least stand and be counted arriving at the polls 10 minutes till 7. I didn't vote red or blue though and just wrote-in. In my life I've never seen so many red flags for both candidates and I struggled hard to find any pros to outweigh the cons. I believe in these times that the people don't really care which puppet sits on the throne. I do believe though that some things need to change in the short future because the people are becoming restless. I'm concerned and send hope/pray to the country that answers come soon for us all.
When you don't decide you've decided...

Hi! :)
@@karenmannix475 hi
Keep up the good work man
I will do my best to live up to that.
Shut up
🤦 looks like you're the one who is senile.
I keep flip flopping on who I am going to vote for. These last 3 elections have been miserable, but I think this is the last time we'll have trump on the ballot at least. If he wins he can't run again, and if he loses he'll be too old or dead. I was protrump in 2016, but was very disenchanted after his tenure as president. I voted 3rd party in 2020 hoping that maybe the libertarian will get 5% and show the big 2 they need to change it up. They didn't unfortunately. Now this election, I have no clue. I'm a registered Democrat and was pro-bernie in 2016 and 2020. I really don't like kamala or Vance though. Every presidental election I've been capable of participating in has had Trump in it, and the last state senate election had Dr. Oz and stroke victim. US politics have been wild.
Good for you. These are some very trying times and disappointing as well. It doesn't feel like the people are being represented anymore
Trump 2024.. MAGA
Democracy is a sham. It's a Jewish construct that serves NO actual purpose but to make you believe that your vote matters, when it in fact doesn't.
You sir are an idiot
Your part of the problem sir.
You’re
How is he possibly part of the problem? He doesn't like his choices so he didn't pick, that's what you Should do instead of a "as long as it's not the other person" vote
Trump isn’t senile. He’s gonna be okay i think. Took me a long time to see it
If not senile, then what is it?
Animatedly eccentric.
I don't know he's definitely slowing down. His performances at rallies and at the debate are not what they used to be. Maybe he's just having a bad couple of months but I do worry that, if he is slowing down, it will only get worse as time goes on.
@Petrslav In all fairness, it's been a grueling campaign, and he is almost 80...
@@Cal-Corgan if he's elected I do hope you're right and that it's just from exhaustion due to the nature of this campaign.
Come on someone support him he makes good videos
Thank you.
Throwing away your vote essentially gives your vote to the people who you dislike more. While yes, you may dislike certain candidates for their character or their position or whatever it might be, consider all of the info such as policy, experience, and values and make the best decision you can based on that.
We have a guy who's actions are directly responsible for a violent uprising in the capital where people fully intended on killing politicians. Did he call for it, no, but did his rhetoric, his divisive, apocalyptic declarations and speeches, cause it, absolutely. We have a woman, who's vice president owns nothing. Absolutely nothing. Dude rents his property and has no investments. He has no direct stakes in the future of this country. The woman is a criminal who slept her way to the top, and imprisoned African Americans for smoking weed while she herself was smoking weed. They want to enact an Unrealized capital gains tax, which could destroy the economy. I think it's totally reasonable to not want to vote for one or the other. If had to choose between Hitler, Stalin, or Mao Zedong who would you pick? Would you pick any of them or just hope and pray that the one who is picked ends up not genociding you. Both paths going forward look pretty dismal. I'm casting my vote, but I'm planning on moving overseas next year so I guess I don't have as much skin in the game as everyone else.
Didn’t know it’s mushroom day… I sautéed a package from my refrigerator this afternoon. Yum.
