This was a difficult film adaptation because so much of the story is internalized and takes place inside of Katniss's head. Since the big blockbuster trilogy was made before streaming channels like Netflix, Hulu, and Apple gave us the pleasure of binge watching 12 hours of an entire series, it's likely that if the book was set to film now, the streaming platform would have been the better adaptation choice for THG.
I wish they would've shown them getting all the perks that came with winning, once they returned home. Instead of them just showing they lived in a better house.
1. District 8 contacting scene 2. Garden scene 3. Effie makeup scene 4. Haymitch apologizing for breaking his promise 5. Snow reaction to Katniss message from burned hospital scene
Y’know, for a movie where they straight up added crappy scenes that weren’t in the book to pad the runtime, they sure didn’t have a problem taking out parts that WERE in the books and had much needed casual character moments. From Catching Fire on, I feel they really skimped on trying to do proper adaptations and just wanted to make action movies. Hoping one day HBO or whoever produces a series that does these justice like they did with His Dark Materials, because they really cut out a lot.
Honestly if any scene should’ve made it in, it was the hummingbird room scene with betee, Katniss and Gale. Lots of important plot and thematic stuff that got cut from that scene :/
That scene with Effie was so impactful, the fact that she said "this is the face of a revolution" shows such character growth. She is taking a clear stance by choosing Katniss over the capitol, despite having been fed their propaganda her whole life. Makes me very emotional
I love the Haymitch and Katniss scene because it shows a glimpse of their communication skills in the book, the way they could almost read each others minds' at some points
The Peeta and Snow scene was really good, _but_ I feel like if they kept that in, they would have to show how and when Peeta begins to defy Snow, and Snow’s subsequent retaliation towards him using torture - at least the beginnings of it. And I think doing that would have been really interesting, but also would extend the run time of a very long movie. Plus, not letting us see that made us use our imaginations of what the Capitol was doing to Peeta, which can usually conjure something far worse. Plus, taking it out allowed for Peeta to seem just _that_ much more out of reach from us/Katniss
i think they should have included the scenes where gale comes across so calculating and unforgiving, i think it really shows that katniss and him aren't a good match and how 13 isn't all good
08:09, this really shows how the upbringing to the residents of the Capitol forms the to always glamorize and care for the beauty in things that are also serious and dark, soooo Effie. As Ceasar Flickerman says; I LOVE IT!
I don't mind the film being 11 mins longer, they should've never deleted these scenes. I mean there's still sense of incompleteness even after they added it but it would be better to show some little to important details in this movie. And the exchange between Beetee and District 8 is so powerful 👏
I only came to look for charlie. Read all the books, watched all the movies. Shitty books, shitty movie, I hate katniss with a passion, she is really annoying. Gotta admit I love the lore and the prequel just not the main series
Snow is so intriguing it scares me how much I like the scenes he’s in. Calm, precise, and more intelligent than most. He has all the characteristics of a kind man, but it is precisely that intelligence that hides a deeper self.
Why is Gale always acting like he didn’t loose his whole family too? He doesn’t seem sad or devastated or angry even about his family. He feels more sadness when is towards Katniss and only
He didn't. Gale saved his entire family and a lot of other people, and they were safe in District 12. Peeta was the only one of the mains whose whole family died in the bombing.
Wouldn't an actual movie about actual events leading to the fall of the Eastern Block and the USSR be both truer and more useful and ...more beautiful than even this story...because the stories about the resistance to communism would be TRUE? Couldn't Chris Hedges contribute heavily to the script, and that nice war corespondent who kinda sorta looks a little like the elder Trudeau? People who were there, telling a story of meaningful accomplishment: The overthrow of Communism? It wouldn't be exploitative, like this......entertainment movie series that goes on and on. What's the story of Fur Marta?
everybody is complaining about not enough peeta scenes or not enough finnick scenes but are we really going to ignore that johanna's entire ass recovery arc got left out. like in the movies she's a tortured morphling addict and that's all we get to see of her until the end
its a drag i know they covered themselves head to toe in arab woman dress to keep the blood of their pantalonnes and robes. the lambs were killed by drag queens and brought by shepherds
you know now what your price is to take slaves in america. money is a better option . if you dont need it well ill by the lumber to try your cross the line theory out. im sorry you are not well versed on historical factext
While I know it might have been a letdown for the reveal of why Peeta attacked Katness, I think it would have been interesting to see his torture and trying to fight against the tracker venom, but show it was not easy for him to resist and he was finally broken

District 8 was good afterall, that scene could have been uncut
wait it this deleted scenes from part one or part two?
Part 1
Y’know, for a movie where they straight up added crappy scenes that weren’t in the book to pad the runtime, they sure didn’t have a problem taking out parts that WERE in the books and had much needed casual character moments. The part with Katniss and Haymich should’ve been left in. So much between the two characters and their relationship there.
Honestly if any scene should’ve made it in, it was the hummingbird room scene with betee, Katniss and Gale. Lots of important plot and thematic stuff that got cut from that scene :/
2314 The year of the 76th Hunger Games
I LOVE the scene of beetee and Katniss!!!!!!
I really like the scene with Haymitch and Katniss, I think it is a really good way to convey their dynamic.
That scene with Effie was so impactful, the fact that she said "this is the face of a revolution" shows such character growth. She is taking a clear stance by choosing Katniss over the capitol, despite having been fed their propaganda her whole life. Makes me very emotional
I love the scene with Peeta and Snow!
Is it me or is president snow hot
the old one? 💀
Damn I hate that Haymitch’s scenes got cut.
i feel like they just cut a lot of world building, and side characters arc
Ahhh Peeta and Katniss reminds Snow of him and Lucy
Watching some of these makes parts of the movie make more sense, and they should not have been removed.
Katniss and Haymitch talking about Peeta should not have been cut!!!
I love the Haymitch and Katniss scene because it shows a glimpse of their communication skills in the book, the way they could almost read each others minds' at some points
omg the scene with peeta and the president is terrifying and powerful.. i wish they hadnt cut it
also the scene with haymitch is great! uhg why did they cut it. i feel like part 1 could have used these
The Peeta and Snow scene was really good, _but_ I feel like if they kept that in, they would have to show how and when Peeta begins to defy Snow, and Snow’s subsequent retaliation towards him using torture - at least the beginnings of it. The scene between Hymitch and Katniss should have been in it, that one and we made a deal to save him. They are so powerful.
That haymich scene needed to be added
Should've kept the two scenes with peeta and president snow and haymitch and katniss these were so important
I desperately need more Beetee. I love him SO MUCH
I love the schedule being printed on the arm, right from the books. Can we put the scenes with Philip Seymour Hoffman back in? This was his last work.
08:09, this really shows how the upbringing to the residents of the Capitol forms the to always glamorize and care for the beauty in things that are also serious and dark, soooo Effie. As Ceasar Flickerman says; I LOVE IT!
The conversation with Peeta and Snow, should have been kept in the movie. Peeta was broken out of the 75th hunger games and kept in the Capitol.
I don't mind the film being 11 mins longer, they should've never deleted these scenes. I mean there's still sense of incompleteness even after they added it but it would be better to show some little to important details in this movie. And the exchange between Beetee and District 8 is so powerful 👏

Just like palpatine
Donald Sutherland did an amazing job
Is it just me or would anyone else watch an eight hour hunger games movie with every detail from the books
i want a tv show so bad like
@@lustforcats2841 just hope Disney doesn’t make the Tv show lol
that’s what i’m saying
@@TreyJaySoSwayHAHA
Hell yeah
your speakers are not busted. the video just has some audio issues.
I’m sorry but the d13 hovercraft is clearly a quintet rip off
i wouldn’t mind and extra 11 minutes and 17 seconds
Why is Gale always acting like he didn’t loose his whole family too? He doesn’t seem sad or devastated or angry even about his family. He feels more sadness when is towards Katniss and only

THE KATNISS AND HAYMITCH SCENE FROM THE BOOK
THE HUMMINGBIRDS SCENE
No i don't want Petas POV.
everybody is complaining about not enough peeta scenes or not enough finnick scenes but are we really going to ignore that johanna's entire ass recovery arc got left out. like in the movies she's a tortured morphling addict and that's all we get to see of her until the end
We were robbed of her and Karniss being roomates and of them supporting each other. The pine needles gift ? So heartwarming.
god was the ones who got their parents to breed in the first place
its a drag i know they covered themselves head to toe in arab woman dress to keep the blood of their pantalonnes and robes. the lambs were killed by drag queens and brought by shepherds
they gave to me the darkest words in the vatican vaults while i was in hell. to hang you out to dry like jesus jerky.

The scene with Betee says a lot about the bombings that killed Prim.
While I know it might have been a letdown for the reveal of why Peeta attacked Katness, I think it would have been interesting to see his torture and trying to fight against the tracker venom, but show it was not easy for him to resist and he was finally broken
8:02 I love this scene! 💖 it should have been kept lol
