Yep I often walk out of LAX! In fact I prefer doing it to get away from the chaos that can be around that driveway. Usually I'll get picked up from one of the hotels at the start of the strip and it's nice to get some air and stretch your legs after a flight anyway.

If you look closely, you walked past an In-N-Out burger on the opposite side of the road, why didn't you go there?

After living in Sydney for 12 years, I'm over it and heading to Melbourne. I sold my place in Vaucluse which is prime harbour front, but I got bored of the city. The night life is also a complete joke and the city (CBD) is dead on the weekends. Sydney is great if you are around the harbour or the beaches, but outside of it, it's a complete shit hole with lot's of industrial areas and tolled motorways everywhere. It's also stinking hot (40 deg often) because you don't get the ocean breezes. I lived in London for 15 years and the plan was to move to Melbourne, but ended up getting a job in Sydney, so got stuck there. If your coming from Europe, you'll enjoy the culture, the arts, design, the food, the fashion and the sport far more in Melbourne. If you prefer a more laid back style of life - beaches, non existant fashion sense etc, choose Sydney. Rental and property prices are beyond a joke there (and complete shit). You'll get far better quality for less in Melbourne. Completely different personalities.

If you like leaving airports on foot, LAX must be the gold standard. Though thinking about it, it would be really tricky leaving Melbourne Airport on foot (and a very long walk). I hate expensive airport buses, so one time in Darwin I caught a normal bus as close as I could to the airport and walked in. It was nowhere as big as LAX but the heat and luggage gave me bonus pedestrian points. Actually, another time I was early to Coolangatta airport, which was very easy to walk out of, and ten minutes later I was on the beach!

Michelin Woman doesn't make an appearance. I've had carry-on that's been over the limit a few times, and if it's not too far over and you get a friendly attendant, you're fine.

Oh wow! Where do I begin? I have to say that I love love love how you kept your good humour throughout the entirety of your video. I know you said you let Jetstar have it (at the start of the video) but the way you persevered with the train and stayed so open to how you might get to Sydney from Melbourne, I am really impressed. I have subscribed to your channel and I'm looking forward to seeing more of that openness and good humour be seen throughout those videos too. I see also that you have some how-to videos on making videos - I'd like to start a YT channel of my own (for what I don't know) but even though I'm not a mac-user I might learn some skills there. My niece is learning viola and I hope I can suggest she watch you channel to see you playing. I want to encourage her all I can in this and you may be the second violist I can put a name to. Also - yes - Table mountain can be disappointing at the top with mist / cloud / extreme wind spoiling the experience - better to wait for a clear day to go up - much nicer.

My advice as a South African - Cape Town is best in the summer - Winters can be absolutely atrocious - just visit from between early Nov and end March / April - avoiding the school holiday periods from 11Dec to 17th Jan when hordes of locals and visitors take over the area and it becomes insanely crowded and busy.

Wonderful video, thank you for this especially the look of the economy class, scenery, toilets, lack of USB + electrical outlets and buffet options. I'm taking the XPT tomorrow for the first time to Canberra and back (I'm returning the same day), probably the same timings you took. Airfares were like $270 return. Greyhound bus $90 (I took them in 2016 but now seems they have so few trips between Sydney and Canberra. and Murrays bus was $85 (they really still have many trips). I decided to take XPT as it was $74. But we shall see how it is.
