We are Daring to Dream
Канада
Добавлен 13 июл 2019
We are Daring to Dream! We sold our house bought a truck and a trailer, which we live in full time with our 2 dogs.
We are documenting our adventures and what we the along the way. We share tips and tricks about RV maintenance, Mods, living in a small space and a little travel.
Recently our dreams and our story have changed a little. While we had one place to call "home base" it never felt like "Home". So we bought property in the Kootenay's and are building a log home and a carport for "Blondie" (our Travel Trailer). While the adventure is a little different, we are still sharing everything we are learning about building your own log home and our place to call "Home"
Long term our dream is continue exploring as much of North America in our RV on our own timeline and share our adventures and the things we learn along the way.

WDD 280 Getting Things Done
We have officially moved to the cabin in the Kootenays. Now that we have no rust to get back to the lower mainland we take a breath and enjoy the process. Here are a few projects we were working on in the first week of us arriving.

The time has come to make the move from living in RV Parks to our Kootenay property. Follow us along as we head out of the city and into the mountains. As we are moving the last of our belongs out of the lower mainland we decided to stop in Osoyoos BC to check out the Nk'Mip Camp Ground to break up the 9 hour drive. If you want lake front camping this is the place. It has over 400 sites most of...

What happens when we are not at the cabin or traveling anywhere. Here are a few clips of what went on last summer while we were working at our jobs and taking care of things at our home base.
WDD 277 Lock it up

We come to another pause on the cabin as we head back to the lower mainland where we will be wrapping up business. However, first we want to share all that we accomplished this trip.
WDD 276 Ceiling Boards Going Up
Просмотров 39628 дней назад
We are putting up ceiling boards inside the cabin. It was quite the process lining up all the boards and getting all the tongues inside the grooves. One more item is hung from the ceiling too. Join us for a brief recap of completing one more item in the cabin.
WDD 275 Empty the cargo trailer and pick up materials
Просмотров 129Месяц назад
Just a quick update on working toward the next phase. We have to pick up some materials that just won't fit in the pickup box. So we have to empty out the cargo trailer and head down to the hardware store. We are always stunned by the amount of stuff we are keeping in our cargo trailer. Join us as we move forward to the next phase.
WDD 274 Let's build a Porch
Просмотров 303Месяц назад
It's time to throw away the sheets of plywood off the porch and put some proper deck boards down. Miriam uses power tools and we create a plan of how best to lay out the boards on the porch.
WDD 273 One more trip to the Cabin
Просмотров 651Месяц назад
We park our trailer in a different location on the property which turns out to be problematic. The exodus continues as we take more of our stuff to our cabin in the Kootenays and Brent has a road rant regarding fueling etiquette.
WDD 272 Dogs and I take a trip to the cabin
Просмотров 335Месяц назад
The plan is to move to the cabin and there are a few more items to bring up from Home Base. The dogs and I are moving some heavier items that would affect our payload when we are towing the trailer. Join us on our adventure in the Kootenays

It seems like being up at our Cabin all work. This week we take a break and take the dogs down to the beach for a few hours before we head back to our home base.

The time has come to remove a shim or two from under the upper set of stairs as the logs have settled a little more. We are also putting up walls and ceiling boards but it doesn't without a few challenges.

Просмотров 6542 месяца назад
We are back at the cabin and are waiting for the insulation company to come, but here are some challenges before they can start work. Meanwhile we set up the wall for the large mini split.

WDD 266 Bathroom Floor get's heat and tiles
Просмотров 963 месяца назад
Tiling is not for the average person. This episode we take on putting a heated tile floor in the bathroom. This is not a how to video. There are professionals out there who can tell you step by step how to tile. We share putting down the heat mat and wiring, dry fitting the tiles, getting the tiles set in mortar and the finished product.

We,Yeah! stunning .

9:44 - Good looking Momentum/Chevy! Had a great time at the rally. hopefully next year it will be a bit cooler
Cooler would be nice, but it was a great time indeed
See you in a couple of weeks!
Yes you will
I need to check my vent covers. Thanks for the reminder!
Any time!
After Hrs of Scales scale your trailer. Scale each axle weight. Is your trailer level when it is traveling or how non is it??
We have weighed it fully loaded for travel and we are within the GVWR
You don't say what vehicle it is!! You don' t say what axle is in it!! Nor to upgrade it ??
Our Trailer is a Grand Design 315RLTS travel trailer. They come with 5200lbs axles, and we upgraded to 7000lbs axles
@@WeareDaringtoDream I have thought that most /ALL trailer axles should be upgraded for safety and longevity! It might be to spec, but not to the forces imposed upon them. Auto tires might be next to upgrade tires to ?? If your trailer is level or next to leave when traveling ??
It's coming along nicely. It will be beautiful when it's all done!
We are chomping at the bit to exit the lower mainland. It's so amazing up there
Contact me, I.just retired. Looking forward to some camper adventures.
Hey Lori. That's awesome
That was a great episode and I always enjoy the bloopers😊
Great propane story. Thanks. GasStop valves may help with this issue, which will detect leaks and shut down the tank. I have been happy with those units after install. Thanks again. Take care.
Thanks, we'll have to look into the Gas Stop Valve
Interesting, but don't think that is normal. Mine does not spin. Let us know how it works out. Thanks for an informative video and continued wonderful adventures. Take care.
Everyone I've seen spins. If it doesn't stop spinning, you have to hold it for it to go up or down. It may have spun itself down
We contacted Stomberg Clarson (the company which supplied our original Jack) and they said the tongue Jack should not spin and we probably had a broken shear pin. All is good we now have new Tongue Jack. Thank you for your comment
Cold outside warm inside and condensation forms on the warm side. Insulate the outside wall or on the inside. If four bodies sleep in the bedroom there is a lot of moisture coming from that you probably need two big machines
Bleach kills mould.
my favourite cleaning solution
Nice cabin Brent and Miriam! Was the tubing as good as the Carlson hill? Great family times. Cheers -Vic
I loved the trip and I thoroughly enjoyed the music it was upbeat spunky great with the scenery❤

So nice to see your family from the Havenaars
It was great to meet cousins I have not seen since I went to Holland when I was 5.
Thanks for the road trip. I love them ❤
Glad you like them!
We are located at Nelson Marina and RV, about 3 km west of Balfour. Same big Reflection 5th as we had in Stoney Plain rally last years ago.
This video was recorded back in the end of May Videos typically run 2 - 4 weeks behind depending on how much footage we have and where we are.
It’s clean now! Good job.
Sure is!
Wow this is so exciting a log cabin would be amazing!! Congratulations we cant wait to see the progess. We have subscribed and will be supporting your channel. Wishing for you more great dreams to come true and a growing channel! Hope to see more of you Just Ramblin Around!
Thank you
Happy Easter to you too 😊
check out 2600RB
We were their as well. The Early Bird RV show always has more bunk house RV's, it's more for families. We like the Snow Bird show, less bunk houses. We have a 2017 Imagine 2600RB and really like our floor plan,. The other Imagine we like is the 2500RL, but I saw a Cougar half ton 25RDS (not at the show). I would trade my Imagine for the Cougar if they I could find one here.
Thanks for the information. We'll check them out.
Wonderful music 🎶 l enjoyed this trip thanks 😊
What weather stripping did you use?
This is the Weather stripping that was used www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B082KDHDX4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 thanks for watching.
We purchased our 2014 303RLS October 2020. We had it parked in our driveway with slides open so we could pack it with the stuff from our previous rv & to show it off. It was open for a few months, we had extra guest over Christmas and used it for our overflow. In January I was closing it up and the dining slide began making weird noises. I stopped it and called my husband out to check it. The slide had slipped and would not completely close on its own. We had to manually push it in. We took it to a rv repair shop who checked it out. The floor of the rear of it had gotten wet, so the bracket for the rear of the slide was not completely attached anymore. They had to remove the entire floor of it and order a new one from GD. It took several months (Covid) for GD to get it to the shop. The shop suggested we get the entire floor rhino lined. That was done and they got the floor reinstalled and back to us. It took 4 1/2 months all together & $5500 later. We hadn’t even used it yet! I watched your video and realized that was probably the cause of the floor failure! The water was rolling under the slide & rotted out the floor. Thank you for your brilliant mod! We will be doing this for sure!
Thanks for the feedback. Sorry you had to go through that.
Top job!👍!!! Increase your stats > Promo*SM.
bbuddy- Omg.gorgeous . wanna more subscribers?, farewell~=))
I really enjoyed this episode it was funny when Brent wreck that Tower thingy thanks for the laughs
Thanks for watching.
What a great way to spend a summer, RVing, grandkids and a beautiful lake and that dog park is amazing. cheers Dave
Hi, you were right, it was "Happy Feet". In Ontario, there are several park that do have the Big recycle bin. Presently there is no charge for milk carton, so we just put it with cardboard. Whie we were traveling through Western Canada, I did not find any return centre, because I did not know they existed. So we just put everything in the right bin has we did our daily walk of the campground.
I thought of this topic because we need to be better at placing garbage and recycling in the appropriate places. Glad to here Ontario is doing a good job.

I’ve cycled past Grand Coulee about 4 times from both directions on various 1000 km rides. It can get quite windy and hot there. I’ve only ever stopped there for food once. Awesome spot. Sorry you had the dinger on your truck and trailer so disappointing. Hope it fixes easily.
Ya the Oops on the turn sucked but sometimes you just have to except it and move on. Yes the dam was pretty awesome.
