Big Fellas Ride Two
США
Добавлен 3 май 2013
At 6'2" and between 250-300 pounds at all times, Big Fellas Ride Two is where I share my motorcycle and bicycle rides and experiences from the perspective of a big fella (Clydesdale and then some). I'm new to mountain bicycling (started at the end of 2021) and adventurer motorcycle riding (just started - July 2023) and have lots to learn but I've always loved riding pretty much anything on two wheels. For all you big fellas (and gals) out there, ride safe and I'll see you on the trail!!! 🚴🏽♂️

"Glass" Trail at Allaire State Park🚴🏼♂️
Love it. Bike racks, bikes, broncos, and someone plinking on a range in the background.
@sthcstog glad you enjoyed it.
Hey, what gps computer are you using?
Hey @05ALT - it's a Garmin Edge 530.
You think a f150 xl 5.0 v8 crew cab short bed would have a problem with this trail I live near by waiting on my skid plates so don’t have them yet you think that’s a problem planning to lift 3 inches and add 34 inch ridge grapplers but for now I’m stock
Hey @OutbackExotics - there are some sections where you'd be fine but others would likely be a bit too tight. I'd recommend only doing what you're comfortable with for you and your vehicle's limits.
What kind of phone mount, speedometer, rear and front lights..
@WillyDalidII - I use a Garmin Edge 530 bike computer, a Topeak phone mount, and the front and rear lights are the Trek ION 200 RT set: www.trekbikes.com/us/en_US/equipment/bike-accessories/bike-lights/bike-light-sets/trek-ion-200-rt-/-flare-rt-set/p/5298302/?gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAApJvIQx4XAxpmHshz_skcgQo3ch54&gclid=CjwKCAiA0rW6BhAcEiwAQH28Ir6_KjQPXbH1SlpoiZj20yBi-DYx5bOzdN3oUWUeA1yIevNucjtONhoCCUIQAvD_BwE.
Do you still have the bike? Any issues? Have you made any upgrades? I'm looking to pick one up . Thanks
@johnnypedals - I do still have the bike and no issues so far - it's a great all-rounder!
i appreciate this video man I am about the same size and I would have the same response. Wondering how you were gonna lift it lol power lift AF
Getting the driver side version blocks the license plate at all times and is also annoying bc you have to walk around the rack and approach from opposite side to actuate the release lever. I think passenger version is the way to go.
@jacobclark9957 - agreed. Now that I've had it a while definitely glad I went with the passenger side version.
Is this New Jersey?
@dimatchat1335 - yes, it's NJ.
Is that a Badlands? Will this work with a Wildtrak w/35" tires? It seems to me it would.
@wldtrak - as long as you have a hitch / receiver you should be good to go.
And how is it now , you already use it one year 😅
@zakh643 - still loving it!
I read the comments , do you mean its not good with tires 35" , so we keep tire on 32" ???
I have the 35s on it and they've been great so far.
Yea there just trynna rip you
Did that Ford hitch plug scratch the bronco I just bought one for my new bronco raptor I was going to let my detail guy throw it on now I’m rethinking lol
@puppetmaster7479 - I haven't had any issues with it - still love the setup.
Nice bro! I just got a Roscoe 6 as a beginner bike after years of street riding. As a big guy myself (6’9” 275) i had a hard time finding a bike to fit my stature but the Roscoe feels good. How does the fuel ex feel?
@kosmonautfpv4920 - the Fuel EX rides like a dream. Pricey but it makes me feel like I'm somehow cheating! lol
this vlog makes me want a trek checkpoint.
@JJ-rf7dg - It's a great all around bike!
Waiting for my ALR5 Driftless to arrive from the factory...should get that call any day now. I like that sideview mirror you have on the left handlebar.
@dominickdepaolo6668 - here's the mirrors we use - can't imagine not having them on all our road / gravel bikes now - www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0017WP7XU/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1
Hi i have question can i use this for long distance? It will not hurt my engine because its so big it’s covered tha whole engine block tha air. Thanks
@Travelto5 - as long as you get the version made for your specific bike you shouldn't have any issues. Good luck!
I need to get mine out, love ya bro!
Man, I'm glad I stumbled into your video. Im getting ready to order the exact set up in about the exact sizes.
Is the trail one way direction? I'm curious about how to make way for someone if they are climbing up and meet you on your descent.
I don't believe it's a one way trail since I've seen vehicles going both ways. Some places are too narrow for two wide but there are plenty of places to move over when needed.
I just got this bike and today is my first tour. Iam really excited.
How do you like the kit ? Just bought the same one for my big bend
So far so good - it's a good height. Good luck with yours!
How hard are the hill climbs (I have a stock Ford ranger fx4)? Also do get pin stripes on this trail?
The hill climbs are super easy and there are a few spots where you definitely could get some pin stripes but nothing major. I'd suggest only doing the parts you're comfortable with.
I like this guy. He’s just like me. Lovin on his checkpoint! Lol!
Sweet roscoe man, bought the same bike 2 weeks ago and smile every time I see it. I'm only 29 but I've found that creatine 100% helps with endurance and squeezing out extra reps in the gym. Keep at it brotha!
Thanks and enjoy your new ride! I love the color scheme they put on the Roscoe 9 and it puts a smile on my face too! I've been using creatine for nearly two months now and definitely notice a difference in recovery time, strength, less-fatigue, and just overall sense of well being. I'm sold...
Awesome video. Have to give that a try.
Good video - but why do you keep saying it's more work? No rear suspension means less work when pedaling on flats.
Hey @cyberneticargument - thanks. Before I got a full suspension bike I thought that would be the case. On the flats possibly but in general, if riding the same trails, it always feels like more work on my hard tail. I’m a big guy at around 300 currently but anytime I switch from my hard tail to my full suspension, it feels like switching from a go-kart to a Cadillac. I don’t get as sore on my full suspension either so I always feel like I’m cheating a little. I love riding both but perhaps because I’m a big guy it’s more noticeable.
@bigfellasridetwo I'm over 200lbs and I find hardtails more work also
More work for me too. A hardtail is more efficient on a flat road like asphalt. But on a trail, I tend to use a lot more legs because my legs are my suspension.
I just set up my computer and phone like yours. Any comments or concerns?
Nice! It's convenient to have both of them readily accessible.
Just bought the pants. Let’s see how they hold in the Texas 65 degree winter!😂
Nice - you'll be good to go for sure!
I have the same setup in the exact same size! Was glad someone offered something for us fully grown male adults!
Exactly! Seems to be high quality stuff too.

I am thinking about adding this kit. How do you like it? Was it worth it. What size tires are you running?
Hey @zackkham721 - I’ve been happy with it so far. I didn’t want a lift kit that was obnoxiously high and for my needs it hits the sweet spot. I’m running the 35s (wheels and tires) that come with the Sasquatch version - my bronco is the non-Sasquatch Badlands so I ended up getting them on eBay. Good luck with whatever you decide to go with!
It was completely still bro
No
This is such a pretty fall/winter bike
Is this open to the public, or do you have to pay an admission fee?
Hey Mark - it’s open to the public and free. It’s short but has a variety of surfaces.
Nice looking ride bro!
That black looks so good!Makes me want to switch colors lol.
Thanks! Which color do you have?
@@bigfellasridetwo I ordered the carbonized grey. I originally wanted the Area 51 but they got rid of the color for 2024 :( but that black looks so sleek!
Did you have to get an extender for the rear camera once you put the bigger tire on the back?
Hi Taylor - I didn’t need an extender and it works fine.
@@bigfellasridetwo Awesome thank you, that’s good to hear. I’m thinking of removing the Sasquatch off my badlands build (since I want to put different tires and wheels) and I wondered about that.
Nice video thanks for sharing 👍🏼 As a fellow Bronco owner, this is the option I wanted however I chose the driver’s side option. ✌🏼
Hey Carl - definitely love that bike rack on the bronco. Thanks for the comment and enjoy 👍🏼
You said that they are small but in the video, it looks like they are too loose on the arm like there is extra material
Hi Mihail - they get real tight around the knuckles once you close your hand or grip the handlebar. Just a bit of an odd fit but otherwise, I would recommend them.
@@bigfellasridetwo Could you clarify something. In some videos about these gloves, it was said that the fingers of the gloves are about one centimetre longer than your fingers. That gloves are specially made with long fingers. Can you comment, are there really long fingers? To be honest I wouldn't say I like it.
@@Mihail_Lazarev I didn't notice any unusual length to the fingers on them. Of course people's hands come in all different shapes and sizes so I suppose it will depend on the specific individual. Good luck!
What phone mount do you use?
It’s a Topeak ride case with mount. I use them on all my bikes. You can get them on Amazon. They’re very durable 👍🏼
What computer do you use?
MacBook Pro👍🏼
@@bigfellasridetwo lol bike computer
@@pashonic lol - Garmin Edge 530
Like your video, may I ask what phone mount are you using, looks solid.
It’s a Topeak ride case with mount. I use them on all my bikes. You can get them on Amazon. They’re very durable 👍🏼
is this good for a newbie? and a stock vehicle?
I would say it depends on the type of stock vehicle you have - definitely recommend a 4x4. It's rated a 3 out of 10 (difficulty) on the onX Offroad App. It's short, and pretty tame, but has a little bit of everything.
@@bigfellasridetwo I have a 2022 Willy’s 2 door
@@irismom1 You’d be just fine 👍🏼
@@bigfellasridetwo ok, I am going to try it!!! Thank you ( nervous)😃
@@irismom1 definitely recommend the onX Offroad app so you know where the turns are and be prepared to get some mud on your Jeep. Have fun!
Why no dropper post. On you're driftless?
Nevermind, I watched the first video lol
Yeah - it got stuck in the lowered position the first time I rode it. I had it fixed 👍🏼
As another 'big fella' who rides MTB (not as quite as tall, but around 300lb), good to see people our size just out there doing it and posting on YT. I'm actually on a Gen 5 EX8, though I also have been doing the 'big boy' testing and bench marking (re suspension settings etc) on the BRAZN One E-Bike - those things just add another element to biking, even on green flow trails, just by the shear SPEED that you carry everywhere! (almost always on the 20mph/32kph limited on every straight section!) Respect and huge thumbs up dude!
Hey KiwiBob - thanks and back at you! Yeah, definitely - it’s good to see other big fellas and gals out there riding. Re: E-bikes, I’ve started seeing a lot more people of all sizes riding E-bikes. I typically ride a few thousand miles a year and hope to continue doing that as I get older. I’m 51 now but we’ve discussed getting E-bikes when we get older. The Trek store let me test ride one when we bought our son his MTB and I had a blast on it. Stay safe out there and enjoy the trails!
@@bigfellasridetwo Basically the same age, though not getting to do anywhere near the miles your getting in, so well done on that front!
Just got this bike and it is amazing. Your video was very helpful. What cell phone mount do you use on it?
Glad to hear the video was helpful - I do love my Checkpoint! I use a Topeak ride case with a mount - they're available on Amazon. I would just make sure you get one for your particular phone size. Good luck!
Where did you get the floor liners? Thanks! Enjoy!
