This was one of the few times we got to play together while John was in the hospital undergoing treatment for leukemia. Unfortunately, he passed away on January 27, 2018. I miss him tremendously.

I know this sing from when I spent a summer in Jalapa, Veracruz, Mexico. I love this song and your interpretation! The composer is a guy(forget the name) who passed away within the last 5, or so, years.
His name was Facundo Cabral, from Argentina, and was killed in Guatemala City in 2011. He was an amazing man and poet, you can read about him on Wikipedia: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Facundo_Cabral
