The brakes supposed to use front and back same time….the double front disk is the most powerful in its category…. U are stopping a 200kg+ and much higher speed compare to pcx…. Pcx usually riding slowly in the city that why u think the brakes are better
Not really. In my 40 years of riding bikes, I've ridden all sorts of and I know when brakes are weak and when they're adequate. But you're right, because the weight of the scoot is mostly at the rear, it takes more lever pressure combined with rear brake. That said, I've ridden similar scoots and I could immediately tell the difference.
thank you for speaking english
Love the moody weather, best weather imo. Really nice vid, similar to Eugene's Go4x4 camping channel ❤️
Your comment means a lot! Go4x4 is what got me started in car camping and is my inspiration in the way I film my videos. I agree tho, something about wet weather camping just makes it all the more appealing to me. It's a pain in the butt as you have to dry everything when you get home but the experience is different in a good way IMHO.
Nice! 👍
Great review, very informative, thank you for mentioning pillion comfort and riding two up!
It's a fairly outdated review as I did that a couple of years ago. I think they've made improvements to some of my observations so would be good to check reviews of the latest iterations of the V85 :)
Last weekend I put a deposit on my Guzzi v85tt, so I will soon have first-hand experience :) Thank you once again for your review! @@ajmaralit
ako una nag like 😊😊😊😊
Haha thank you! :)
Man after my own heart ❤️ i have a pcx 150 2019 , I haven't ridden since the 1990s and being brought up on motorcycles as well from smaller ones & having fun as a kid , graduating to larger & faster motorcycles i tossed it all away for a long time...Im learning a different style of bike now ( scooter )? and rebuilding confidence at the same time and trusting in the vehicles performance and dynamics once again...I want to look forward to buying something a bit more long distance then the 150 pcx..maybe something around 300- 400 cc to enjoy on weekends along with fuel efficiency and economy...I have an electric hybrid car which I won't need to use or rely on so much but very good over long distance...but I feel a good size motorcycles could be just so much better...I seen a nice 1100 Honda with the raised fuel tank and lowered back ( semi chopper style ) with straight handlebars over the forks...but very nice...very tidy...I can't see myself going their ' cos most the guys to I know today are riding 600-650cc ample for todays roads and conditions...cheers for heads up ...take care..❤️❤️✌️
The PCX is perfect for getting the “feel” back after so many years of not riding. You can also tour on it (as many do in the Philippines) but it won’t be as comfortable as, say, an Xciting 400. I think the Honda bike you’re talking about is the Rebel. It’s a nice bike too, but if touring is what you’re after, there are better bikes out there (Kwak Versys for example). Anyway, either way you go, enjoy the ride!
Totally agree with you!!! I have one and love it
I’ve had to sell mine unfortunately since I now work for a competing brand but have to say I do miss it a lot and for off-road is still hard to beat!
I kick myself in the ass every day for buying the 2019 over the 2020. Ten times better bike. I did it for the cost savings, and have regretted it for 2 years
princess stole the show 😆
Nice one bro!
Thanks bro! I saw you were letting go of the Tiger. Upgrading?
@@ajmaralit Yes I was thinking of upgrading... but honestly, I'm still having doubts 🙂... coz I really love my Tiger.
@@MotoFaith yep, too many choices, too little money 🤣

Camp Well na!
And...uhh..here I am...on theDucati.... Waste of time.
Sorry to hear you didn’t like it. I just came from a ride on the standard 1100 pro this morning and I really enjoyed it. Won’t trade it in for my current ride but it’s a fun machine to ride.
Excellent video! And I generally agree with every point you made, especially the looks of the 2018. You have a far more pragmatic approach to your purchases than I! I would probably jump at the opportunity to own a 2022 without as careful and measured consideration. Well done sir!
Thank you for your comment. Being pragmatic is all I could afford at the time! Haha.
Nice one AJ! I happened to do a site visit of Camp Well some weeks back with Marc and Nat, along with Triumph's team DSB... and I loved the place. 👍
I saw some pics, kasama ka pala dun :) can’t wait to do overnight there, just needs a lot of pre-planning especially because there isn’t any mobile phone coverage. But will do one for sure in Jan or Feb :)
@@ajmaralit Cool! I was myself planning to go back there... I especially enjoyed the way to the site. Maybe we could do a joint camping experience next year - we should keep in touch!
@@MotoFaith love the idea of joint camping experience! Let’s do it soon!
Upgrade to the Super Tenere 1200.Shaft drive is the icing on the cake.👍👍
There are just degrees of ugly when it comes to adventure bikes. The V85TT is no better or no worse than any of them. It's the only bike of this displacement with shaft drive, which puts it over the top for me.👍👍
Great review! Would you recommend this over CB500X?
Thank you. It really depends on what you want to experience with your rides. I think the CB500x is a lot more versatile than the Xciting so ultimately you’ll be able to do more types of riding (road and off road). The advantage of the Xciting is if you’re purely going on road, it will be more comfortable and you already have significant storage capacity already built in.
@@ajmaralit No plans in riding off-road yet but I've been riding on Manila roads, do you think Xciting's suspension would be enough with the road condition of Manila?
The suspension of the Xciting is more on the sportier side, in other words a little on the stiffer side. My Honda PCX had more plush suspension in fact. Is it to the point of being uncomfortable? No naman. But enough for you to notice. In my opinion tho, it’s a small price to pay for the other benefits of the bike. At the end of the day, it wasn’t a big deal to me.
@@ajmaralit Is a full face/modular helmet fits inside the under seat compartment?
@@jacobrongavilla1978 Unfortunately not. I never stored my helmet underneath as a result but I think a Jet Style helmet would fit.
Ang sarap mag-ride ng trails... I am myself thinking of buying an enduro bike 👍
Take a look at the CRF300L.. it can do 90% of what the more expensive enduro bikes can do with less than half the required maintenance..
I am on the same page. my 2019 Africa twin adventure sports still rocks!!!
👍👍👍pikes peak the best!

Underrated vid
Nice bike awesome views. Where's is this beautiful place?
Thank you 🙏🏼 This is in a place called Bitbit River in Bulacan, Philippines.
Loads better bike. Different machine really especially with electric suspension
The gear indicator issue has been solved for the 2021 V85TT. At least it is for mine. However my 2020 V7 Stone also had the indicator issue you speak of. I agree about the pegs. I upgraded to a set of Pivot Pegz K4s. I love the Guzzi. Good review and you are correct, I don’t believe Guzzi is trying to compete with others. I appreciate their attitude of doing their own thing. Cheers mate.
Good to know it’s been fixed.. wasn’t really a huge issue in the grand scheme of things but in today’s world of electronic gizmos, it becomes a “pain” point. I’ve also seen a pro rider take the Guzzi on pretty aggressive trails so it is really capable, just need some small upgrades to make it easier to do it. Thanks mate!
Solid boss auto subscribed more contents pls!
Thanks boss!
Thanks for the vid. I'm really struggling with this issue before owning either. My dilemma is, is the 2020 worth spending an additional 2-4 thousand over a 2017? Also, can't decide if I should go DCT or manual? Any thoughts?
I think there are a few things to consider… If money was a big consideration, then I wouldn’t go for the newer ATAS, especially if you’re going to take it off roading. There’s a reason why the Yamaha T7 is such a popular bike and I feel it’s the same reason with the older ATAS. Less electronics means less to worry about. Where I think the newer ATAS will have an advantage over is weight distribution. The weight of the 2018 ATAS rides pretty high so if you’re shorter than 6’ then the handling the weight, especially in off road situations will be more difficult. While I haven’t ridden the new ATAS, what I’ve read is that the weight is distributed better. Honestly if I were to choose between all the variants (if I did have the budget to upgrade) I would most likely go with the newest base model AT, with manual transmission. Reason for this is I really prefer riding off road (when on ADV bikes) and I think the base AT will be most suited to my preference. The lighter weight of the base model, and the more “basic” electronics package will be better suited for off-road riding. Plus I also think it looks better than it’s big brother (but not as good looking as the 2018 ATAS) In regards to your question on DCT or manual. For me, if you ride a lot of off road, I’d go manual. If mostly paved roads, I’d go DCT.
@@ajmaralit Thanks for the reply. Kinda funny, I was thinking DCT would be better offroad (less to think about).
@@johnscott9829 I’ve watched on some reviews on YT that it sometimes misses the right gear, which is very important in off road situations, so my preference for manual transmission is based purely on that 😁
Good and balanced analysis AJ. Congratulations!
Thanks Joel. Really loved that bike. Still do :)
Such a relaxing video AJ, and your sound set up is really good!

How tall are you ?
I’m just shy of 5’11
@@ajmaralit no problem with seat hight ?? That is a AS ! 92 cm ?
@@chrmah the bike the tallest I’ve had but I’ve been riding dirt bikes for many years now so that didn’t bother me as much. That said, it’s the placement of the weight that is the issue with the ride height - it’s too high so the effect is that the bike seems heavier than lower bikes with similar weight.
@@ajmaralit I must thank you already for replying my messages.... I only wish to ask you this one question more /. say you have to choose now, between 2018 AT or the 2018 AT ASPORTS..... Would you have the AS again ?
@@chrmah happy to respond to questions.. if I had to do it over again, I’d probably choose the base AT.. I really like doing off road (i now have a different bike for road touring) and I think the AT will be easier to handle due to lower center of mass and narrower tank.. I’ve always feared going down on the ATAS in off road situations not for anything other than I’d waste so much energy just bringing it upright again, if I could even do it by myself.. That said, if you don’t do as much off road, then the ATAS is definitively the better bike
The gear indicator on Harleys disappears when the clutch is engaged. Not sure about my GS I’ll have to check.
Hello friend thank you very much for this video and info... Xmax 300 and xciting 400 2021 are same price in my country, which one would you choose and why? Thank you!
That is a tough one.. if we didn’t have restrictions (400cc and up only) along our National Highway where I live, I might have gone with the XMAX.. please note as well that I haven’t had same ownership experience with xmax so I may not know the downsides of owning one... 3 reasons: 1. Yamaha reliability. While Kymco quality isn’t bad, Yamaha probably a little better. 2. Comfort. Yamaha ergonomics fits taller riders better. Kymco is a bit more sporty I feel so while not tight, it’s not as spacious in the leg area as the XMAX 3. Trunk space. Xmax can fit more stuff under the seat. At the end of the day, it’s a very close match up. Choice at end of day will come down to personal preference based on type of use.
@@ajmaralit thank you for quick reply, I think due brand value of Yamaha, also better fuel economy and weight xmax will be a better choice :)
Im looking at a used 2018 sport and yes its almost half the price,, would miss the tubeless tires if i get a flat but taking 90 minutes to repair would warrant the time, cruise control i would want to add it on since im driving in Canada, a subframe would be nice but I'm not rough roading it ,ten grand is a big saving, ty for your video.
Super late reply. I fit my rims with tape (I forget the brand) and so far I’ve been very happy with it. For cruise control, I had one of those gadgets that you clamp on to the throttle. It’s a bit sketchy so I only use it when there’s very little traffic. Thanks for the comment!
Great video with good points , This morning my odometer read 20777 mi. I have loved every minute on it , only other bike I might consider since I'm getting older would be the T7 dont think I'll trade in AT ,,,anniversary too cool !
Plus and Minus, I like it 😎👌

Do you counter steer into corners..when I first got my T max after riding motorcycles for 40 years I found it ponderous into fast corners..I then started counters testing and the bike tips into the corner with amazing agility as quickly as anything this side of a full on sportsbike..it also holds its line and is planted so long as you don't come off the throttle mid corner..try it with the xciting .just start relatively slowly as the bike will tip into the corner faster than you might expect.. Enjoy..My Tmax is more fun on a twisty road at 50 to 70 mph than a sports bike travelling half as fast again!!
Yep I counter steer into corners. IMHO the Xciting is really a sport scooter. It's completely at home on smooth corners due to its stiff suspension. The downside is its not as comfortable as my PCX for example. It's a trade off I'm totally Ok with since I really enjoy twisties :)
@@ajmaralit It would be worth upgrading rear shocks to something that has both rebound and compression damping.YSS are in your part of the world and made a dramatic difference to my Dads NMax!! You can tune the shock to suit your preferences and worth doing if you are happy with the bike and possibly why the xciting seat is softer I believe than the AK's firm saddle..enjoy..I'm unlikely to go back to a motorcycle after the T-Max!
@QUICK-STAR had the PCX for work.. then was supposed to do a Luzon loop with the Xciting with the wifey but then the pandemic happened.
Just noticed that you guys keep on overtaking on 2 Solid yellow lines
Yep guilty. In the Philippines, there's not really a lot of enforcement of traffic rules. Unfortunately, they only become relevant when someone gets into an accident. Basically, it's up to the individual to make sure it is safe when crossing these lines. I know I sound blase but this is the situation in most of the Philippines.
@@ajmaralit I hope you are proud of the Influence that you're Influencing. God Bless :)
@@toyletvowl who said I was proud of it? I'm not trying to influence anyone to cross the lines. I'm just saying that's the reality that we face in the Philippines.
@@ajmaralit it's not really suppose to be the reality we should face, it's because riders like you make it possible to other riders to face it as a reality instead of becoming a role model to do the right thing.
Unfortunately it is the reality we face. But ok. If you say so. I guess you've never broken any traffic laws 🙄. Good for you, mate. I've never proposed to being a role model so for those that watch my vids, PLEASE DO NOT DO WHAT I DO.
