Cool!
I love the way you did the cover. Brilliant idea. ❤
Thank you.
Absolutely beautiful!! I wouldn't mind the machine mis stitch, it adds more character! Love it all!! New sub to you!!
Thank you ❤️
Beautiful nature cover 😍
Thank you very much!
So many wonderful vintage images! I love the journal you've made.
You're a very good sketch artist. I get better with my drawing if I stick with it and keep practicing, but I give up easily. Maybe thei artist way book will change that. Thank you for taking us with you.
That's a lovely little journal, Pernille. Thank you for the flip through.
It's so interesting to see you go through this journey. I was so glad that I found your videos just when I first started thinking of going through this journey myself. I've been on the search for a group to join to go through this journey because I spend a lot of time alone when I make art. If I don't find a group to join then I'll make this journey on my own. Thank you for sharing all with us; the good and the bad.
Catching up with you Pernille. I love your watercolors. They're very good. Thank you for taking us with you t see your beautiful area.
I really enjoyed your junk journal. I bought supplies to make one and have yet to do anything. You inspire me to be creative
I am really happy to hear that.I hope you have fun making your journal.
To Know the Dark To go in the dark with a light is to know the light. To know the dark, go dark. Go without sight, and find that the dark, too, blooms and sings, and is traveled by dark feet and dark wings. - Wendell Berry, Farming: A Hand Book, 1970
First off, I loved your honesty thru the entire 12 weeks. I was given for Christmas, a 3 book set of the Artist's Way last Christmas (book, workbook and morning pages journal) it was still wrapped together in its shrink wrap. I wasn't sure what to think of it, went onto RUclips and found you beginning your journey. I really enjoyed your take on each week. It has made me open my set and begin. At first I found it a cross between what I'd heard of the 21 step program of Alcoholics Anonymous and what it must be like to see a psychiatrist. I did not enjoy revisiting my childhood, but I forged ahead. I am starting week four. I realized it required me to let go and just flow with it and like you did. I hope you come back and share updates, both how your journey has progress and your studio time. They make me happy. Thank you for sharing💕
You've encouraged me to continue; I've gotten to week four and the morning pages bore me. I like the idea of tweaking things; maybe do fewer pages and more creating. Thanks for your honesty while presenting your journey!
The kid coming up while you were talking about kids around being really nice was quite charming. :) This was very nice, and gentle and calming for me. thank you for sharing all your thoughts, too. So very interesting.
The audio was drowning out your speech until 8.30 into the video. Thank for the content though. I've tried the Artists Way once and gave up after a couple of weeks. I might try again!
Hi Pernille, I'm finally catching up with you again. I'm so glad that you're discovering things about yourself, like the fact that you just want to play with your art. That's a wonderful self-realization. Thanks for sharing!
@@kaylinfrancis8751 thank you. Yes, that realization definitely took a lot of presure of. I dont feel like I have to make amazing art every time
I am looking forward to seeing what you do in future and am still enjoying your journey thru the Artist Way... Thank you ❣
I did enjoy. Thank you for sharing❤
I am glad you enjoyed it.
@@carinacraftblog tusind tak. Jeg er glad for at du ku li min flip through.
Yo the art looks really good! Ngl the one with the black duck is pretty good.
thank you so much.
It's so wonderful how this is helping you in such a creative way. Thank you for sharing how it all makes you feel.
It sounds like things are slowly starting to come together for you. That's wonderful! Thank you for taking us along with you.
That is a good observation because sometimes we can really be hard on ourselves. I can't wait to see the continuation of your sketches. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for sharing your journey with us. I'm enjoying it. It's making me think about my own art journey.
Oh I love Sennelier ❣ When I first taste of art, was in an inner city school with no funds and a great teacher. We were brought up by rows to get our supplies. There was new, used and donated all lumped together in a huge box. When my row went up, I saw a donated used box set of pastels, a large used container of half pan watercolors and a used black ink pen, all rubber band together. I grabbed it and went to sit down. As I inspected each, they said Sennelier and made in France. I thought how exciting to have supplies from France, When our teacher went up and down each row, taking inventory of our chosen supplies... He stopped at me and asked if I had brought my own supplies. I said no, I got these where everyone else got theirs. He said, if he had known they were in there he would have taken them and I was very lucky girl with a good eye to choose such quality art supplies. So began my love of Sennelier. By the end of that class I had developed my own style of using watercolors and pastels. That year also, was what made me want to be an artist.
i love the steps you are taking to further your creative life; I'm thinking I should go back and restart The Artist Way. Tried once and never finished, but am in a slump. Thank you for your honesty.
I love your honesty and being real! ❤ I need to catch up on your previous weeks. There’s a lot of us, who are poly creative and who are suffering ME & autoimmune issues. It’s a tough journey and I agree with you listening to ourselves and our bodies is crucial! I set myself a dance challenge, making a 100 dance reels and that feels really liberating on many levels. Also, I wanted to mention that Kristin Neffs meditations on self compassion are very helpful to me. They are for free on her website. Great that you found friends to support each other on the journey and also for making all these changes. Congratulations on having made it half way through and thank you for sharing your journey with us here!
Thank you for sharing the info on Kristin Neff. I will definitely be looking into that.
I can so relate with your journey this week. I was given the Artist Way book, journal & something else, as a set last Christmas Eve. I have yet to open them. When I saw your channel, I was intrigued as to what the book would look like in real life. As I am an artist with a chronic auto immune illness and amcurrently revamping my life. So I am very interested in your journey & your take on this book. I can't thank you enough for honestly sharing yourself so thoughtfully. Thank you❣
Oh, your comment makes me so happy. Thank you
Really enjoyable... Thank you for sharing💕
I've always wanted to follow The Artist Way. It's been recommended me so many times over the years...This has inspired me to finally do so! Thank you so much.
I am so happy to hear that!
Thank you for posting again. I am very curious about The Artist Way and am enjoying your take on it. Couple of things. I like your bird and do not mind the chirping. I think you are a very good artist. No, yes I do.! I love that you share your art and journal. I can pick out English words like chips, mango, etc. I also like how you take us with you to seeing where you are and the cobblestone street, historic buildings, etc. I forgot that all of Europe (well it seems that way) goes on vacation for the month of August. I look forward to next time💕
Thank you so much. It makes me so hapy to hear you enjoyed the video.
There’s a good article in the LA Times…. Julia Cameron was dealing with addiction and a nervous breakdown while writing the book (you can find it online, titled Agonizing success of ‘Artist’s Way’ by Gina Piccalo June 23, 2006 12 AM PT). I did all 12 weeks… I got some good things out of it, but a lot felt like it was Cameron’s baggage, not mine. I didn’t feel it helped with artistic stuff, but just reflection of life stuff. I question why this book has become so popular with artist. I guess it speaks to some and not others.
Hi Pernille, I loved your honesty and being real. Also, that you took a critical stance to certain things in the book. I got the book in the 2000’s from a theatre workshop participant as a thanks. It was sitting on my shelf until I finally did it. Like you I loved the morning pages and many of the exercises. It felt like a great accomplishment having done the whole thing. I did write a blog about my experience at the time. And Claudia, who had come along to one of my workshops decided to do it alongside of me. She worked a normal office job and ended up being a full blown artist by the end of it. It was amazing to see this transformation happen in front of my eyes. Her paintings were great, she for sure had been a shadow artist. She literally came into her own. If I was to read the book now again, I’d be probably also more critical about certain claims like you. It’ll be fascinating to see where this journey will take you. I am for sure cheering you on! 👏
Thank you so much. I am really enjoying the tasks and focus on them. And so much is happening already
I am 77 years old, and find joy in writing, journalling, drawing, painting with watercolors, and photography. I don't find it necessary to label myself "artist" or "writer" at this stage in my life, which is good because I have always shied away from labels. Thank you for your beautiful presentation!
Thank you so much
Well I live that emotion every day, since 1976 and became a famous artist and never sold any major artworks because of past drama I understand you fully
Pernille- this was a wonderful chat. I did not create art while my children were little, only started when they were 8, 11 and 15. My ex told me art was not real work and I would never make a living from my artwork. ( I am a stained glass artist) . After we divorced I needed to show him I could make a life with my art- I taught everywhere I could, showed in every show I could. 10 years after we divorced I got a storefront and opened a public studio- selling my artwork, doing commissions and teaching. My children were so proud and let their father know I was a successful artist. I did not care because I knew I was! I have done the Artist's Way 3 times and am ready to do it again. I believe it is intended to be "take what you want and leave the rest" type of experience. There were parts that did not fit - religion and negativity but I let them roll off me. Thank you for sharing and look forward to more vlogs on your journey. By the way I love your painting of the yellow building, it is stunning!
Thank you so much for sharing your story with me. It is so encouraging. It is awsome that you have made art a living.
I will bet that many feel the same as you. Marriage and family seem to bring expectations from both outside and inside. Perhaps the most harsh expectations come from inside. I am 72 and I am loathe to call myself an artist, or a writer, but in fact, I do both. I enjoy doing this for myself, and I have no desire to share my work. There is always the idea that doing things for yourself is inherently wrong. That if we have a talent, we should share it with the world. That only holds water if that is what you want to do. There is no rule that one has to share everything, or anything.... we must do as we please in this matter.
I totally agree. It is more than okay to do something just because it brings you joy, without feeling pressured into sharing it with the world.
Lovely sketch!
thank you so much
I love it! I haven't come across your channel before. I've been trying to place your accent - you said you don't speak Dutch, so you're not Dutch. I'm sure you're either European or Scandinavian. Are you Danish? Lol
yes, I am Danish. Maybe I should mention that in future videos.
@@pernillerosestudio Yay! I got it right! Lol
Very pretty journal and love the purpose it's made for! Thanks for sharing! Just subscribed to your channel.
Your book is really beautiful and colorful. Jeg grinede naar jeg saa det med prutter i telt, lol, so logisk.
Love that writing journal. If I can ask where you get them?
Great stuff i subbed hope you will sub back to me :} Love Vickings Shannon
Your travel journal isn't 'cheating'. It's an already established system that shouldn't be messed about for the sake of a one month challenge. :)
I am always in awe of people who maintain such consistent journaling practice. Despite all my good intentions I can never seem to make it stick permanently! Your set up looks great (I'm usually a MTN girl but I'm leaning towards a hardbound book for my onebookjuly myself). I love your little Viking dude! He looks like my husband! LOL. Best of luck with the challenge.
You have such wonderful notebooks, diaries and sketchbooks...it will be a challenge not to use them for the whole month I guess! But your set up for onebookjuly2015 is just perfect!
Love it! Great idea, Fauxdori mixed with Junk Journal. :-D
Lovely jj and theme. Your visual journals look good too tfs
thanks for your inspiration I need to make one. it is beautiful!!!
