ASUS RTX 20 series dual fan noise issue (fix in comments)
Просмотров 3,9 тыс.3 года назад
Download MSI afterburner and set the fan curve to start at 10%. Fixed the issue for me. Also seems to be the same issue on ASUS gtx 1660 which probably has the same cooler.
Asus RTX 2060 Super: I’ve used this card for 3 years. I use Afterburner to hide the problem (fan constantly on at low rpm) but today I decided to fix it properly. I removed the fan completely and its quiet when fan is pointing up but makes a noise when fan is pointing down. It’s a rattling noise just after the fan starts spinning. The blades wobbles at that time. The problem is in the fan itself. One fan was worse than the other but I assume al fan of the same model has the same fault. I tried to remove the blades but there is no rubber cover under the sticker so I can’t get to the c-clip. There are several RUclips videos that show how people just pull the blades of the hub on similar Asus gfx fans. This requires a great force (it’s not a c-clip on thoose fans but a washer that hold it in place). I tried but it seemed that I would break the base or the blades so I didn’t get it off. Sorry. No solution as this time. Maybe buy new fans and hope for the best. Removing blades: ruclips.net/video/HemU5pn37_Y/видео.html Mabe this works (prevent vibrations to reach the cooling finns). I haven’t tested it: ruclips.net/video/81-POcZ_BHE/видео.html On the fan label (black and yellow): POWER LOGIC PLD09210S12H 12DC 0.30A
Thank you good information for sure. I gave my card up to my brother about 2 years ago for a 3080 and made sure he had the right fan settings to not have this problem. At least this GPU series is getting old and people are for sure starting to change it out. I don't know how many were made of this card but at this point 3,6k views i would assume most of them came here because they had the similar problem.
One of the best and most controversial season... IT was SO awesome.
Then Massi happened
Mercedes should have just pitted.
@@kyaryi1 not necessarily wrong, but red flag would have been the most sporting.
The reason this was so tense was because this was the first time, in 70 YEARS that 2 drivers locked on with the same amount of points
In fact, the first time this happened was in 1974 with Carlos Reutemann and Emerson Fittipaldi
1:49 We've seen car brushed to the wall and banked against them Our GOAT noted that.
…it‘s so quiet :(
Where to watch? Hehe
F1 TV
Check (gpu fan mod ) if it help u
Hello, after two years of having the same problem in my Asus Dual rtx 2060 I have discovered that it seems that the problem is physical in the fans. Apparently when you turn on the card with the fans down something hits the internal plastic. If you put the card running up or horizontally the noise disappears or decreases. I think it's a design error of the graphics fans. Doesn't seem like an electrical problem. I don't know if this wears out the fans more. I also don't know if you apply an RMA and they change your card, the problem continues. it is possible that all cards of the same series have the same noise, although I am not sure. Currently everything is working fine with my card, it just has this weird noise.
Hey! This is the exact same thing that's happening with my EVGA RTX 3060, although a lot less frequent. According to HWInfo it only happens when the fans start at the lowest RPM during idle use, so it's on/off etc. It's a big annoying but it doesn't happen during gaming or heavy use. Any solutions to this? I don't think certain models are supposed to have the fans spinning at all time if it's not necessary.
I have the same problem on my rx 5700xt, that noise is just the blades touching the fan cables, try to flatten the cables.
Funny enough I've been having this issue on my RTX3080Ti and its been driving me nuts, changing the fan curve has fixed the issue but its annoying that it has the issue for the price of the card..
I had the same problem with my RTX 2070 Dual. Used GPU Tweak II from ASUS to try to fix it. If the fans' speed is between 1% and 10% (more or less) the noise appears.
I have the same problem, these are very bad cheap fans (this same bad cheap and ugly rotor design, - absolutely inferior to any cheap case fan - is unfortunately now implemented in 75% of all available graphics cards as a new stupid "trend".....) so this problem will continue. One of both fans wobble because of unbalanced weight areas in specific RPM setting (mine does this above 2000 rpm). The rattling is caused by the Y-shaped motor housing struts chattering against the cooling fins directly above the Y strut when the rotor is wobbling. You need to clamp a plastic washer between the Y-strut and the cooling fins and the fans should remain silent.
Thanks for this detailed explanation. Any chance you have a diagram or video that illustrates where the Y-strut and cooling fins and how to insert the washer between them?
same sound on a asus 3060ti
same on my 3070, any fix?
@@decro3177 I pushed my fans slightly and it disappeared
@@civil_fellow2985 Could you be more specific? Pushed in which direction?
@@civil_fellow2985 i have the same problem can you pls explain to me how did u fix it
Found this on a forum. I have the 1660 Super variant but same exact problem. Ever found a solution?
Change the minimum fan speed to 10% msi afterburner. (EDIT THE FAN CURVE)
@@Burn3h means you've got to run it constantly in the background?
@@HalfEatenMushroom kinda ye. But it spins so slow you cannot hear it. The sound in the vid comes from the fan turning on and off.
@@Burn3h mine is doing it intermittently, so every 20sec or so it'll rattle. Super annoying, but I've set a custom fan curve in Afterburner now. Thanks man
@@Burn3h kewl thanks man. i thought i was going insane.

@protosega HAHHAHHA! I couldent figure out where it came from! Thank you!
@KirbyDeath It is also true that jorezreal postet that the last to surrender will lose, nothing to do with your silly theory.
I wish I was on that other team.
ROFL
Any one elce look at there skype when they heard the noise.
you can surrender after, but not so quickly. if your nexus blows up. you will lose. so wait about 3 seconds after the initial surrender, then surrender, not instantly.
Haha fail!
Its not fail. Its win!
@TheJayde The opposite, the one that surrenders second loses I've lost like that before.
thats what you get actually, next time dont be cocky
faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaail
You got all five of your votes before they did I think.
i checked my skype during this video
@mindhackz Blues surrender was 4-0 (4/5) vs purples 4-1(5/5) is what he means I think.
You only lost because your entire team voted before their entire team voted, makes perfect sense
Anyone else checked their skype at 0:21 :D
And that's why you don't act like an idiot.
Your Nexus exploded. YOU LOSE! GOOD DAY SIR!
