The Chinese character 喜 is read /hay/ or /hei/ (hei2) in Cantonese and /xǐ/ in Mandarin. As Cantonese is the primary branch of Chinese spoken in Hong Kong, this kind of rendering of local pronunciation into a script accessible to those who cannot read Chinese is a notable phenomenon.

In preparing the description for this video, I reflected on the beauty of the Chinese transliteration of George. 佐治 approximates the English sound through the Cantonese pronunciation Zozi /zo3 zi6/ (and Mandarin Zuǒzhì) and may be translated literally as "Supporting Governance," "Assisting Stability," or some variation thereof. Another transliteration into Chinese, 喬治 (Mandarin Qiáozhì), which may be translated "Towering Governance," has its own appeal.
