Minimum is at least $2-3 for you to take a ride, then you need to top up again. I suggest you take the tourist card if you are just staying for a couple of days. The normal ez-link validity is 5 years.

Hello, the cheapest one you can get is an hdb common room together with other pinoy housemates in one flat. If the location will not really matter to you guys, search for the areas in red line (northeast) like Marsiling, Sembawang, Woodlands or green line (east side) like Tampines, Simei. Other areas are really expensive. The normal range now for the common room is about $900-1300 per month excluding electricty, water, gas and internet. If you ever find a room lower than this and including pub then its really a good deal.
