Irish life, American girl
Добавлен 31 окт 2020
Born and raised in California, I moved to Ireland in 2015 at the age of 26 to get a second bachelor's degree. Having met my husband as we both worked security in college, I am now here to stay. I want you to join me as I live my daily life in this beautiful country. I am happy to show you around and share my experiences.

The cost of a baby in Ireland

Some might be curious what the costs are during pregnancy, from the hospital, and after baby arrives when you're living in Ireland. Here's what I know on the matter with my almost-6 month old.

You could spend all day admiring the craftsmanship of this iconic Cathedral. You would not want to miss it when you come to Ireland.
Having a baby in Ireland from an American perspective | My birth story

Trigger warning: anxiety, depression, labor pains, emergency cesarian, NICU I've been wanting to make this video for months. I had big plans for my makeup to be done, my baby to be dolled up, to be sitting with a lot of natural light and all of the things. But I didn't even get a good camera angle for us. But the main thing is I got the video made. Please excuse all the things, including the bi...

A link to Saint Fin Barres Cathedral: ruclips.net/video/JsaT8es8nm4/видео.htmlsi=StKNoWE-XmChfZbU Many people ask me advice when visiting Ireland, and this is my go-to. I forgot to mention Kylemore Abbey as a place I'd maybe give a miss when visiting. It's stunning when you come during green summer months. But it is quite a drive there and back and there isn't much else around. A link to Saint ...

Applying for baby's US passport in Ireland
Hi, I’m Tom, I’m from Belfast in N Ireland, I haven’t been down that way before, it’s looks very nice, even though the typical Irish weather is with you on your drive, I have just subscribed, make sure you Drive safe, take care.
Lovely indeed!!
So wonderful that we once heard the choir rehearsing (from the grounds while they were inside)! Then I do believe we also once heard the organ being played while we were inside. Such a special cathedral.
Such a lovely bit of road!
Beautiful.
What a birth story!!! Soooo many thing about this are NOT NORMAL for the states. I'm speaking from a lot of experience from my own life as well as the lives of many women I know. But to see that precious baby, I know you know it was completely worth it. I'm incredibly impressed with how well you handled every complication and disappointment!! Great job, Mommy. XOXO
Regarding video production and make-up, I heard the saying that perfection is the enemy of good. You, baby, and setting look just fine to me.
Thank you so much for that :)
Thank YOU for the video! I'm curious to see if you recommend Newgrange and the Meath area. Also, have you visited Isle of Man? I'll be visiting Ireland in April and we thought about taking a Ferry to Isle of Man.
Thank you so much for watching, and I'm glad you're planning a trip! I have been to the Farm that's beside Newgrange, and that has a lot of fun activities for kids, but I can't speak to Newgrange itself. Somewhat nearby is Trim, and I'd recommend stopping there if you can. It's where they filmed some of Braveheart and there is fantastic castle ruins there!
Where are you today? Stay safe😊
I had a class in Ballincollig this morning and was driving from Enniskeane 😊
Slow down. You are flying, and on wet windy narrow roads. Whats your hurry.
The video is sped up to 1.5 speed:)
@@IrishLifeAmericanGirl lol...i tried to sound like my Irish grandmother there
Where are you today?
Going from Ballincollig to Ballineen 😊
I love Enniskeane.
Oh bayjaysus bayjaysus bayjaysus,, turty tree and a turd.
Why not stay there?
I wouldn't mind! But luckily, I don't live far from it and often do my shopping there.
Very cute.the laws should change around housing.they clearly do not fit 21 century.they should work for all people, not just few... i struggle for my place as well.. I love that little place of yours and looks very cosy.❤
I agree. There aren't many solutions for the housing crisis. It's a shame these are not more an option.
You kept these Holy souls company today on such a snowy day. Thank you from an Irish exile in America.
It was my pleasure 😊
Been there twice ,
just music and pictures ... pity
What would you prefer to see?:)
Michael Collin’s country is it not?
Yes, it is!
Beautiful, nice to see it's not overrun with migrants...yet
OK American Girl a nice trip you caught through big town West Cork, very nice well done. The weather wasn't great but that could just be because it was between 11 and 12 in the morning. Your choice of music is a bit manic, suggest something slower like ticking over with Brendan..ruclips.net/video/9Le8u1r0l5Q/видео.html. Look forward to your next one..
Thank you so much for the suggestion. I'll bare that in mind. I am slightly limited, as the music needs to be royalty free. But I will try harder to find ones less upbeat. Thank you so much for watching.
Hi! We are planning to use the public transport at the end of a guided tour to go to Cabra Castle (I have found this task almost impossible due to where the castle is! LOL. We will have our luggage with us (there are 3 of us) and hope to go from our hotel in Dublin to Cabra Castle and then back to Dublin. I have researched all combinations i can imagine! I finally came up with a bus route that takes me from Dublin to Navan and then from Navan to Kingscourt where we will still need to get a taxi to the castle but its the straightest way I can see (less complicated, even with the 3 steps). I wanted to go Irish Rail but it just doesnt get close enough to the castle to make taking a taxi affordable! Do you have a suggestion on how to get to the castle from Dublin (cabra) without feeling so stressed out by connections to this or that?
Thank you for watching! My first suggestion would be seeing if you can leave your luggage in one of the hotels in Dublin. Unfortunately, it is cheaper going public transport, but you are more limited when trying to get to specific areas outside the city where taxis are more affordable. I would look into getting a rental car for the day. I know it's not public transport, but it could be faster if you only have the one day to try and get to the castle and back. Also, check out Rome to Rio website. I haven't used it, but have heard great things.
Thank you for the tour, lovely cottage. 🎄
:-)
gorgeous landscape and music.
Where in West Cork is this please?
Driving from Carrigboy to Enniskeane 😊
Beautiful countryside
ffs!!! you didnt tip down to Bal when ya were that far??
Not this time anyway
Takes me an hour to get to a Dunnes.
Super fluffy cows :)
The cows in Ireland have a special water proof Hyde!!
You're most welcome. So happy to know you're enjoying our countryside. It's so far removed from what we know of the US. Not that I'm sure there are places on that great continent, just that we don't see. 😘
Thank you for transporting me to the home county of my GGGF James Cashman
chick needs a bf, or gf..10 seconds i wont get back
nice fiddling, who is playing ?
Nice. Countryside.
No jobs but plenty of money for people who don’t work don’t want to work and never will work
Good luck with your future, but surely there are rainy places in America with rubbish roads that you could live in.
Haha there are for sure. My husband is from Cork and wants to stay in Ireland due to his qualifications here and not in the States. So I happily stay to support him.
No jobs in America either, their replacements have arrived
I like to imagine that you're wearing a motorcycle helmet with a go-pro, and this is you moving this fast through Ireland while dealing with life in general.
Haha I wish I was that cool!
Being able to speak all migrant languages will help oh and Irish if you bump into one
Such great info!! Thank you 😊
This was interesting. Thanks for posting.
The train is a lovely way to get around!
That orange sweatshirt is SO CUTE on you!!!
Thank you for sharing your journey ☺👍💖
Such an interesting video! Eclipse is a beauty for sure. Have fun w her!
Aww thank you for the sweet comment! And for the compliments on my lovely little cob. I definitely have loved her dearly! Thank you for watching!
Fantastic video, once again!! I love it! I can’t wait to come back and visit now I know these!! ❤❤❤
Loved hearing these while I was over there. Some of these I heard and didn’t know what they meant! Good to know!
A fun video!!
Ive always been interesred in what Americans must think of horse culture over here, im in Scotland but its relatively similar and we get a lot of Irish imports (Ive got an Irish Cob and an Irish Sports Horse so you could say im biased lol). The native breeds here are just amazing and so incredibly dynamic. Loved seeing your wee girl, absolutely gorgeous! Great video, very chill pace and a wonderful calming vid before I head to bed
as an American equestrian, your hacking is SO much better out there, at least compared to Northeast USA. If we ride on anyone else's property, it's a big no-no usually. Horses are not quite as part of our culture out here, especially just owning horses in your backyard.
Love this, Natalie! First of all, Ireland is beautiful. So good to hear your voice too, and very observant. I have similar drives here in South Carolina, little traffic. Great adventure for you, so glad you followed your dreams.
