Got the wild hair to record the rain today, and then run that into the mixer with the radio playing in the same channel. Programmed a simple drum beat and went to fooling with the synths. It's raining today, so I went outside and recorded a bit of ambient rain sounds, that turned into the Zoom H1n picking up a conversation through walls. This is going to be fed into a musical idea. Will Behringer recall all units that have already been distributed to retailers such as Thomann and to end users, and make an official announcement when the problem has been fixed? I would have no problem soldering the diode myself since I'm an electronics technician but I'd rather wait before buying this synth if Behringer are already working on a fix, less work for me.
@manny_f I wish I could give you an answer, but I've got zero knowledge of how Behringer will address this. One would think that since the first run, 1900 from what I saw online, will have this issue, that they would say something to those users about the issue. I only found out about my issue when Thomas Gruber, www.youtube.com/@valuemastery, contacted me. I'm new to electronics, and the synth world, but when I read that Behringer was not going to void my warranty for making the repair and watching Thomas' video on the repair, ruclips.net/video/IlkOWh2jUmM/видео.html , I said the hell with it. I got the diode in and it seems to work properly now, so I'll hold on to mine until I need to. Let's hope the Proton doesn't have any issues like this...

Thanks a lot for the test. The S&H on the Neutron works as expected, but on the Model 15 it's clearly broken. It does sample, but it fails to hold. Hi George, thanks for the video. I received my Model 15 a few days ago, and quickly noticed that the S&H is not working correctly. Patching S&H out to OSC1 CV in, and adjusting LFO rate to be very slow, does not produce the famous "computer bleep" sound, but just leads to distorted output from OSC1. Have confirmed the broken S&H output with an oscilloscope then. Found another Model 15 owner, and his unit has the same fault. Is your S&H working? Probably many (if not all) Model 15s have this defect.
@@valuemastery Let me play with it a little bit this afternoon and do a test. I've fooled with the S&H a little bit but nothing scientific, so I can't tell you 100% what's going on.

If this is a Grandmother copy, then the following should apply: Sample/Hold (S/H) is a stepped modulation effect, often used to “pulse” the Cutoff frequency of a Low Pass filter with near random values. At the beginning of every modulation wave cycle, the Noise generator is sampled to acquire a control value that can be used to modulate another parameter. That stream of Sample/Hold values is available via this output
