Vizquel is not a borderline.....one of the greatest defensive short stops OFF ALL TIME.....that is not borderline, sorry. I get the character issues, but the borderline arguments are nonsense. If you are one of the greatest (even if only one aspect of the game) in the long storied history of the game, you are not borderline. And short stop is actually a defensive position where the Gold Glove counts for something. It's not like defensively, Ozzie Smith was significantly greater than Vizquel, both were vacuum cleaners/walls, and offensively, yes Ozzie had more stolen bases, but in the other categories (BA, RBIs, HRs, hits, etc), pretty comparable. Yet many, if not most, think Ozzie is a no brainer. I personally think that Vizquel's off the field issues made many uncomfortable to vote for him and so they tried to come up with some on the field arguments of why to exclude him....well, he was a compiler, other guys like Jeter were way better, etc. Again, I am ok with using the character clause argument, but I just don't understand the borderline arguments in Vizquel's case.

Probably my favorite podcast. Random Thoughts: Agree with Felix should be in, but he is pretty close to Santana, who fell off after one ballot. I disagree that Japan Baseball is comparable to Major League baseball, it is not even close. K-Rod is better than Wagner IMHO, but neither should be HOFers, I hate the Buerle for HOF take and finally LOVED the WTF is Chase Utley trending for HOF.

Great episode! I really enjoyed this one. I saw Ichiro play in person, when the Seattle Mariners came to Baltimore @ Camden Yards. One of my favorite memories; however, is watching him hit during the battle practice, before the game. The stories of Ichiro having home run power, but scarcely using the 'pop' in his bat...are true.
