I think you need to up your pace...a lot! After 2.5 minutes, I bailed because so far all you had said was that it cost $5K and had an uneven top.

This mattress that I lived with for 6 years is not worth the $. It is not worth a quarter of the cost ($2400). POS. I replaced it with a Sterns and Foster that was less than half the price and ten times the comfort. Wonderful. Best mattress I’ve owned since Spring Air’s 4 Season model.

I worked for a major mattress manufacturer, I was a truck driver and delivered all over a well known Northeastern U.S. city. I know all too well how the mattresses are made what they cost to make, and what major retailers, mom and pop shops paid for mattresses.

Its probably too late but you could have kept the coils, upgraded the matress at the shop and gifted it to a needy local family.

When the top layer is sewed into the top layer of foam, what’s that called? That that prevent shifting of the top soft layer? Also do mattress companies tuft mattresses that aren’t tufted? Thanks

My bed has the stitching through all the layers versus glue ..there is no way I can sleep on a bed with glue, I can't breathe it smells so toxic. Most of the memory foam smells toxic too. Occasionally a latex made of bamboo doesn't smell until it's starts breaking down years later. People should really pay attention to what they are absorbing in through their skin at night. It should be against the law what chemicals they use.

I have a question.. I know the coils are based on a number.. but does that number translate to count directly? Like I found a supplier site listing BR models. but the coil density and coil count were completely different.. For example the 875 model harmony only had 672 coils in queen.. Is this correct? Do other brands with Quantum edge type coils list total count? ITs very confusing..

My wife and I bought a beauty rest black plush and found it to soft now we switched to a serta icomfort luxury firm for support and so my spine would be straight but find pressure points being hit any suggestions

I showed up here in an attempt to understand why the beauty rest black I bought just over a year ago has dips where me (240lb) and my wife (130lb) sleep that sag like hammocks and never bounce back with time. That they stitched that memory foam layer on top makes it particularly bad because you can't rotate the mattress and you can't just switch out the foam. Probably my most regrettable purchase, buyer beware.

How about reversing the mattress ? Will it give more closer contact to the coils instead of cutting off the topper ?

Latex foam is my favorite. I really can't stand memory foam but latex foam is sooo comfortable lol. Nice to know places still exist that make mattresses!

Good info. Back when these memory foam mattresses first came out, I bought a queen Zinus bed in a box for like $200 with very similar construction and it lasted 8-10 years at least before it started sagging. Back then, you could look at the spec sheet on the product page and would tell you the ILD. I knew exactly what I was buying. Today, its just marketing fluff like "50% more cloud air technology" or similar drivel. I bought a bed with the densest memory foam available and a hard foam base. I bought it knowing it would be too hard to sleep on at first and purchased a cheap plush memory foam topper at the same time. 6-12 months in, I removed the topper and had a bed that lasted. Costwise, I could buy 10 of those beds for the price of one of these and if I had to replace it every 5 years instead of 15 years, that was still a bargain. Today, that transparancy is gone thanks to companies like Casper and consumers who don't insist on getting real information about what they are buying. Just wanted to say that I also opened up my bed before throwing it out, just out of curiosity, and I will say you should warn people that the fiberglass material used as a fire retardant can be dangerous to breathe and may break down in old mattresses. People should not casually remove those zippered mattresses covers without a n95 mask on.

I have an adjustable bed. It's a full extra long so my choice of mattresses was limited. I wound up with a beauty rest. Though not a black, it is a thick, pillow top. For many reasons, I hate it. Its all deformed and uncomfortable. If I could afford to throw away a couple of thousand bucks, I'd rip mine apart too!

I currently have a sleep number, medium grade mattress that is 2 years old. Loved it at first as my spouse and I have different sleeping styles, so different firmness needs, however after about a year, you can feel the bladder and pipes while sleeping. We both wake up with back pain no matter the setting we choose. You also have to option to turn the responsiveness off so it doesn't adjust to your movements while sleeping so we've tried turning it off to see if we'd sleep better, and nothing helped. Looking into a tempur pedic because were in SC but would love to see a breakdown video of one of their hybrids if you guys get the chance. Appreciate your honesty with the videos!

Had the weirdest fail to our lightly used four year old Beautyrest Black. There felt like there was a valley running down the middle of the bed from top to bottom. When my wife and I slept in it together (guest room bed) we seemed to be rolling inward toward the middle. I believe this coil failure is exactly what happened to ours except it failed left to right not at the bottom which is basically the same thing. In the process of filing a warranty claim. $3000 bed should hold up longer than four years. Thanks guys for providing me the visual ammunition I needed to offset the sales pitch. Unless we get a satisfactory answer and resolution we won’t be buying anymore of their products, which sucks because they are the perfect comfort level for both of us.

Interested in you reviewing the mattresses from Original Mattress Factory (and OMF). I remember being a young kid hearing their ads in Cleveland. They've since expanded throughout pockets of the midwest/east coast. They seem to be high quality, have a good variety, and are reasonably priced.

Loved the video. My wife and I are both side sleepers, and currently own a 6 yr old Casper mattress. I am very interested in the Saatva Classic, because I love pillow-top beds. Two questions: 1) We are undecided on the firmness: Plush Soft, or Luxury Firm. I like a soft-top bed, but don't want to feel like I'm sinking into the bed. And 2) How do the mattress heights affect the support of the bed? We prefer the 11.5 inch height, but are afraid it won't be as supportive as the 14.5" height. Can you help answer these questions?

This was a Black, but did you say what series this is? The higher lines are more expensive due to the 2nd row of springs. With the Series 1 or 2, you don't get the second set of micro-coils. I'm curious if you'd think that would be a better value, factoring in the build quality and likely similar materials. The Series 2 is ~$3500.

I purchase this saatva mattress . I agree saatva does not have a factory. They outsource TO THE NEAREST MATTRESS FACTORY NEAR YOU . The quality I received was okay . Gave it a try but returned it I purchase the firm option felt like a Medium
