That's a good video! The Soviet style of boxing was characterized by high technique, a strategic approach, and an emphasis on collective training. Boxers in the Soviet Union were trained in a system that combined elements of classical technique and modern training methods. Discipline, strict control of physical fitness, and psychological training were important points. Boxers were usually able to work effectively from a distance, using combinations of punches and dodges, which allowed them to better defend and counterattack. As a result, the Soviet style of boxing became known for its effectiveness and ability to adjust to the opponent. Yuri Ivantsiv's methodical manual “400 Boxing Combinations” is a valuable guide that allows you to improve your boxing technique by systematically studying and practicing various combinations. By studying the strength, speed and accuracy of punches, a boxer can significantly diversify his tactical methods in the ring. Combinations, presented in the book, help to develop not only technical skills, but also better coordination of movements, which helps to improve the overall combat training. Regular application of the described techniques in the training process helps to improve reaction and quick thinking in real fight conditions.
It ain't much of a secret for anyone to know that the Soviet Style Boxing doesn't undervalue the jab, cross combo and the in and out foot work. The speed is what really gets me because I couldn't Imagine being punched with endless combinations to the body and face.
3:23 Notice how the boxer keeps a squared stance to do the sidesteps quicker, usually the sidestep to the right as orthodox is difficult to execute cause you tend to lose a bit of balance, but if you do it from a squared stance as he does you won't lose balance when using the sidestep for dodging punches. I think that from now on i will sqaure up when being against the ropes to side step to left or right, very educational video. Soviet Russian knowledge :)
I remember back in the 1980s they would have these friendly boxing matches between Soviet Russians and Americans. 10 fights of 3 or 4 rounds . The Russians would win 8 or 9 out of 10 combats. Very impressive. It was on ABC World of Sports
Was it pro or amateur? I see that this style is “favored” in the amateurs, point system wise. Still a very unique and fluid style that is difficult for anyone to get around either way
He's name is Pirog aka "The Grand Master". He defeated Danny Jacobs for the Middle weight world title back in the day. He was also in line to face off against non other than "GGG" Golovkin but sadly was falsed to retire due to a reoccurring back injury due to a slipped disc.
@@Soletar77 I was probably wrong, most likely it was not Robert Imamov, but Tagir Ganeev. Dmitry Bivol was also a pupil of this particular trainer, but Bivol came to the school of trainer Isaev ten years later and spent a little more than 10 years with trainer Isaev until 2011, by which time he had become a good boxer. However, what we see now is not the best form of Bivol. His new trainer has been training Bivol for 13 years, and he is probably more of a businessman than a boxer, unfortunately. ruclips.net/video/T58veWr-E3I/видео.html

crazy how everyone in this video are in there 40s
what really? I was thinking these guys were in their 20’s
40s is not old at all if you keep yourself healthy.

@@josephthesouthpaw it was amateur. They wouldn't dominate with hard hits but rather on points scored. They were just that fast.
Thank you very much, we are very pleased that the culture of our boxing has not yet been forgotten😊
Song’s name?
In Soviet Russia every man is Ivan Drago
Ivan Drago after death camp
Ivan Drago was full of steroids and other sh*t. This is pure natural cardiovascular power and stamina!
Ivan drago didn’t have skill like these guys 🔥 this style takes insane stamina
Skinny but lethal!
I afraid of this than big gym guy with steroid, natural strengh and stamina is always scary especially who know how to fight (striking, grapling)
Americans are the opposite
When you have long arms and technique, it doesn't take much force to knock your opponent down
Holy shit, how the hell can I obtain such fine movements
From soviet style
Тебе нужен тренер из советской школы)
Where is this gym?!
Это Санкт-Петербург вроде или где-то рядом.
F.O.O.L - Krieg For those wondering
Thank you Comrad.
🫡
Wonder who the guy from 2.35 to 2.52 is. Love the double tennis ball work.
he is insane

He's name Robert Imamov.
He does look like Pirog but i doubt it. The silver haired one. But I'm talking about the dark haired one that looks like a young Bivol @AshleyBD15
