My biggest concern about a HELOC is the bank can call the loan ANYTIME THEY FEEL LIKE IT. And if you don't have the balance at call, you're screwed.

All these plans start with "i have a mortgage and want to get out of it sooner". how do we just NOT get a mortgage? what's the financial product to buy a house in America without a typical mortgage? aware that almost zero people can afford to pay with cash.

When you say 1st lien Heloc? I thought 1st lien is the mortgage lender.

OK bro. This is so fire. Can you talk about how to use a 2nd lien? Like we have 45k. For ours. Haven't benn able to convince my wife at all. All she says is we are paying interest on the heloc though

How long after a purchase of a house (50%down) will the credit union allow a heloc loan?

I noticed you said "refinance" when talking about a second position HELOC that engulfs a first position mortgage. I intend on using my HELOC (just applied for) to payoff my mortgage in one transaction and applying the velocity strategy to paying off the HELOC. Am I missing any steps here? Is my proposed strategy doable? Am I going to be strong armed into a HELOC "refinance" after I payoff my mortgage?
