    And you are a liar. Why do you like to get us senior citizens all worked up thinking we are getting help with our ability to keep food on our table? It’s very cruel and shameful that you people have such disregard for the elderly, but just remember this, if by the grace of God you live to get old, you may be one of those elderly people that needs help and what goes around comes around, what do your parents think about how you treat people with lies and false promises? Shame on you and all of your colleagues in crime against the elderly 😡

      There is no out-of-pocket limit for the copays. Most of those services should not require a $20 copay, but some of those services will be accompanied by an office visit, which would require a $20 copay. Here is the link to the document we talked about in the video with more details on the services that do and do not require copays with Plan N: www.cms.gov/Medicare/Health-Plans/Medigap/downloads/Plan_N_Guidance2.pdf

We're pretty healthy, but thinking about down the road, it seemed like the right plan for us. Plan N certainly sounds like the better option but you nailed it with the comfort of risk people feel and knowing what the fixed costs will be vs. the unknown. I think medical conditions can change on the dime - from relatively healthy to some hidden disease that suddenly requires more doctors/specialists and procedures. If the Guaranteed Issue Rights extended to Plan N, I could easily see how many people would stick with until Plan G would make more sense. But once in Plan N, it is long-term. Great explanation of it all! I'm in Illinois with the birthday rule but it doesn't matter if Plan N is excluded.

    Thanks for the video, I will be turning 65 in about 7 months.The one takeaway I learned from this is, brokers are not contracted with all insurers, how would I know that I am getting the best policy if each broker has different contracts? Can you get different quotes from different brokers?

    • @GiardiniMedicare
      @GiardiniMedicare День назад

      You could get quotes from different brokers, but that is largely a waste of time in our opinion. Instead, you can get quotes from a broker and then compare them to what you see using Medicare.gov. If there is a discrepancy between the quotes you see online vs. the quotes the broker is giving you, just ask them why they are recommending the plan they are. Overall, as brokers, we contract with as many carriers as possible, but there are some that simply don't let brokers contract with them.

    • @GiardiniMedicare
      @GiardiniMedicare 6 дней назад

      It is something to be aware of, but it is hard to spend too much time worrying about it since almost all carriers close blocks of business. Also, the companies that generally don't close their blocks of business have still been experiencing large rate increases in the past couple of years. The $191 example for excess charges was nice, but what if you have major surgery for $191,000? Instead of $10 excess charges would be more like $10,000. And, on the Medicare web site you can only search for participating providers, not non-participating providers.

    It seems that the BCBS Advantage Plan in my state considers any provider in the "National Medicare Advantage" network as "in network". Is that common? It would seem that this eliminates one of main drawbacks to an Advantage Plan, since I see very many providers / hospitals in other states in the "National Medicare Advantage" network. Am I missing anything here?

    • @GiardiniMedicare

    Very helpful, thanks! I live overseas most of the year, but I want to keep coverage in the USA when I return for periodic visits and any possible future major medical need. At my age of 70 and home state of Alabama, I can get Plan N for $125 a month (MOO) and a HD-G for around $50 a month. Would you agree that HD-G makes the most sense in this scenario? Or is it worth paying the extra of getting into Plan N now while I can, no health issues?

    • @GiardiniMedicare
      @GiardiniMedicare 6 дней назад

      Tough to say since it really just comes down to your preference now that you understand how both plans work. I would say that both options make sense and might come down to if you plan on moving back to the U.S. full-time in the future. With that said, the HDG could be a great compromise in your situation.

This year I was diagnosed with Wet Age Related Macular Degeneration and I go to the Retina Specialist for an injection in the eye every 4 weeks and the injection itself is 2000 dollars each time plus doctor and lab charges costing me $ 420 out of pocket each visit. Contrary to my planning now I have to first meet the 2800 dollar deductible ( ever increasing ) every year. My advice to those who can afford it, just take the Medigap plan G ( the regular one) and be happy.
