    I love watching these videos as they serve as motivation for me to one day get there, and not only make it to UPT, but complete UPT. My dream aircraft is the A-10, but I’ll be blessed flying anything. Currently a junior in college, can’t wait!

      My guess is it’s a pretty big accomplishment to become a First Assignment Instructor Pilot

      Being a surgrad(just winged to IP) is a pretty big accomplishment, and after they finish their instructor tour they usually can choose whatever the hell they want.

    My greatest fear is not being assigned a fighter pilot when this night comes

      I can assure you that any plane in the Air Force is great to fly, you’ll love your community no matter what. I chose and got the least tactical aircraft in the air force, the (C5) and wouldn’t trade it for the world. When I land at fighter bases, kids on tours stop looking at f16s to see my big plane taxiing by. And man do I love this plane. So go into it with the goal of being a fighter pilot, but remember no matter what you’re still a pilot in the worlds greatest Air Force.

      Be grateful you even get to fly. Many pilots who got rejected would love that spot.

      Honestly I used to think “wow imagine going through all that to end up with a KC-refueling” but I looked up fighters have to sweat and piss in a cup while the KC crew makes pizza and chats

      @@diverman1023 planes also get selected based on their rankings in the course. So if you rank dead last and have the F-22 as your first choice, chances are that ain't happening. I think most of them have a fairly good idea about where they'll end up. But of course if you rank #1 and theres no fighter slots, what can you do

      @@TheDecapitatedApple I feel like they lure student pilots in primarily by advertising fighters but they just want to fill the refueling plane slots more than anything. People today know they’re better off just starting out with an airline career, the usaf is having big pilot recruitment issues these days

      @@diverman1023 mmmm I feel like if you're gonna join the USAF then more times than not you know what you're getting into. Fighters are advertised everywhere yea but anyone who is serious about joining should understand everything about it. The thing about going straight to airlines is the cost. It's so much money to become a commerical pilot so a lotta people go the military route. If commericals your end goal then it's gonna matter if you fly tankers or not. So you get everything paid for, fly your contract, and then go make big bucks on the airlines after. Only bad thing is the time commitment but I wouldn't mind it, it's inherently a cool job

      It doesnt work like that. Pretty sure that if you want to fly fighters you dont have the chance of getting into one of those. I think haha

      @joshuadelacerda7380 4 года назад

      David Heyl ik it doesn’t work like that. All needs of the Air Force. I’m just saying that he was a T-38 guy, so he had hoped and assumed he was going to get a fighter, but the needs of the AF dictated his wants.

      DecapitatedApple honestly whats hella disappointing is that i wanted to go to b52s or bombers but i found out with track select you go with fighters too and i really dont want to go fighters. So honeslty i wont take the chance and i’ll just choose heavies/transport. Now im really shooting for C-5 and C-17
