I had the same thoughts on the combat when I first started playing. Keep with it the combat gets alot faster and weaving your skills together because very important. Make sure to do your job quest. The game slowly introduces you to its combat structure and it plays off when you start doing end game content like trail and raids. Keep with it at least till you do your first AAR raid. It's a lot of fun and that's where ff14 shines. I wish you the best traveler's adventure.

Yes combat gets way faster in trials and raids. Your going to want to learn a rotation for you skills to maximize your dps output. I cant speak for conjurers but I know for warriors there are certain skills I want to push so I can make sure I get my beast gage full to use harder hitting attacks and defensive while tanking the boss. Along with using certain skills to buff the damage of those attacks. And yes there are different skill rotation strategies to do during certain mechanics of trial and raid fights. I highly recommend if you haven't' watched Vanquishing the Crystal Tower in FFXIV! 🏰✨ EPIC A Realm Reborn Challenge 💥🎮(ruclips.net/video/Mq1Sw8iUw78/видео.html) to watch it focus on the speed of the combat then watch Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn - Let's Play Part 2: Rookie Tank's Epic Sastasha Showdown! (ruclips.net/video/ovz8PNJsmmQ/видео.html) and compare the pacing of the combat between the two videos. Keep playing through AAR the game is introducing you to its combat system slowly. It will pick up especially around level 40. What has been your favorite part of being a conjurer so far?
