Pro-tip: You can hold the pan of raw burgers and place them on the grill without having to move back and forth one at a time. Same thing with condiments. Hold the entire box and hover the pans and click til full. Love this game.
@@kingsman4181 Thanks
Very awesome! 😎👍 Love the truck paint
How much coolant does it take?
If I remember correctly the full bottle from the Honda store.
@@keithkelley8913 1 quart?
Not hard to bend a bolt on a ford look how cheap and thin everything is
Loved this! Average Joe in an average place, uses average tools, average techniques, average but ingenious rigs to make really fantastically great non average pro results. Rock On Brother! Best part of video though was the Darling Princess who did the unboxing. Great Job Young Lady!
How do you change the lifters? Can they be done in the truck by just pulling the heads?
You can, but would be tough, it would be best to lift the cab if you had a way. Good luck, and be patient and take your time
Thank you, I’m not sure if it’s necessary, I had a cracked cylinder head and the truck only has 65k miles on it. I’m meticulous with maintenance, synthetic oil every 4K miles. Just had a freak failure and it’s a 2016. So I’m replacing both heads, all rocker arms and push rods but wasn’t sure if I should just do lifters too, I’m not sure how they come out haha.
I sure wish I could find someone in the Denver area willing to repair a 6.7 rather than replace it. I have a 2016 F350 that starts & runs with a tapping noise, waiting several months for an engine, nice truck sits!
Sorry to hear that, have you tried machine shops?
Y'gotta find a guy that knows what hes doing. Thats not easy.
Love your car vids keep posting
The mileage was probably rolled back most of them are!
What happened here exactly? Did it just blow up?
The story I got was low oil pressure, but a stage 4 tune and a heavy foot will cause this also😊
Did you separate the pieces to paint or just taped them off?
Just taped.
@@keithkelley8913 came out great
I have a deleted 14 6.7. Should i be concerned? Just hit 100k and i do all my oil and fuel filters. 6k for oil and every 3rd change for fuel. What are some preventing measures i can take to get long-term?
Keeping doing what you doing, and find a fuel additive that you can run in every tank of fuel.
@@keithkelley8913 perfect thanks brother!
Definitely should be worried. Ticking time bomb. Updated rocker arms in 2015. When it's time to do injectors swap your rocker arms for updated part number. This is very common failure on 2011-2014. Rocker arms wear eventually walks off the valve allows pushrod to come out wich allows lifter to break wipe cam etc. Guranteed some of your rockers, the longer ones, are off the center of the valve stem
Awesome video 👍 You might be one of the best players I've seen.
So why mess with this engine you only got a few good parts off of it
It's for the learning experience, besides I got a turbo that I didn't show with the engine, and 2 good heads that required very little machine work.
Cool so how long did it take you to remove the cabin?
About 2 hours, I rebuilt a 2011 F350 from the ground up, so I get pretty fast at it.
Ha Ha
How many miles are on the engine at this point?
I think it was around 180 thousand
Hey I dropped a socket down the turbo drain hole in my 6.7 will it ne fine or will it go no where?
It will strict the flow of oil which will back up in the turbo causing it to blow out the seals in your turbo
i cant stand it when ppl post videos on this promising to make updates and show them rebuilding it but never do
Is that a perm!? Big worm! Lol Man I hate seein that beautiful scorpion torn down
It is a perm. I did get a good set of heads.
@@keithkelley8913 that’s definitely a good thing
Nice finish!
Thank you for doing this, very helpful
Glad it was helpful, I'll be doing another teardown and full rebuild of another 6.7
Supposed to losen from outside in..
It doesn’t matter when taking them off.
What I like to see. A standard compressor anyone might have, an HF gun and no paint booth. Really shows that there is no excuses to not DIY . Good video. Only wish I would have seen the separation between primer, base coat and clear coat. Did you scuff each coat prior to the next coat?
I just let it flash and since I was still in the adhesion window, no need to scuff.
I watched 4 min exactly, right when you pulled 4 push rods for 1 cylinder. It was at this moment i knew, i would never buy a 6.7..... like wtf
That is a 2014 6.7, the new ones have steel pistons and rods that are larger. This was Fords first generation in house designed and built diesel. They learned a lot since then and are only getting better. We do not know the maintenance or what exactly it came out of and what it did. Diesels will last a very very long time and are extremely reliable IF you do the maintenance. Diesels are high performance engines made to run on garbage fuel, you absolutely have to do all the maintenance on any diesel.
@@armedprophet3321 these little diesels are way too maintenance intensive.
the 6.7 is extremely overbuilt..mahle monotherm steel pistons, carrillo forged rods,6 bolts per cylider on the heads,6 bolt mains..gci block..ive seen several over 600k miles
@@jasonhumphrey8891no they come with powdered metal fractured rods. Despite all the rest they still have the weakest and most problematic longblock on the market.
We have been buying fords since 2004 never once did we fix them except for rockers on a used 6.4 and it ran flawlessly after nothing else is worth buying really!
I have the same rocker arm issue. Mine didn't break off but the rocker assembly on cylinder 4 of my engine basically wore out to the point that they slid off the valve stem, losing the pushrod and then the ?valve lash pin? out of the lifter and down through the engine wiping out the lifter roller and cam lobe. Cylinder 1 lost one pushrod but it didn't cause any damage. Cylinder 7 rockers were also very loose. I had engine skipping/popping and engine codes for cylinder contribution errors on 4 & 7. Ford dealer just told me that I needed a new engine and quoted me $18K.
Wanna sell it? I need this for my 2010 Edge. Never been updated and it's so frustrating.
Nice job.
you have answered a few questions that i had. i am about to pull my engine in the next week
Hope it goes well.
Cool video I'm a potato😃
Where is part two?
I was unable to get a title, so I had to scrap it
Nothing better than a that's what she said joke during a teardown lol.

@@keithkelley8913 oh dang
Did you wire up the tiny skinny red wire that’s used to hard wire directly to the Ignition? It comes off the Solenoid.
I wired mine to be hot all the time.
Where did you wire the tiny red wire to on the solenoid? Red terminal or black terminal? ?
I believe to the red.
Was this the 2wd rancher or the 4wd rancher?
4wd
How come you got that kfi mounting plate and not the single plate mounting plate bracket. I have the 2wd 2008 rancher and kfi said to get the mount you have in the video above but there is a 2nd winch mount for the same rancher just 4wd and it has 1 plate instead of 2 plates like shown above The part #100705 on kfi website.
@@beco89inc50 ease of mounting, the 2 bracket is easier to monut, unless you take the whole front off.
Do you know if the 2nd gen 3500 badlands would blot up the same as the 1st gen that you used in the video? Bolt pattern etc is the same in both? Having trouble finding the 1gen in my area. Just didn’t want to get the 2nd gen 3500 badland if it wasn’t to going to mount like the 1st gen. Last question I promise!!!
does this work for lincon navag, ?
Yes
@@keithkelley8913 thanks for the info
Here's a tip for all you animal loving shade tree mechanics. I use quarter by quarter hardware cloth on all my open catch pans. Cat a circle of hardware cloth and use tapit screws to screw it to the catch pan. Covering the whole opening. This will keep your pets from trying to drink chemicals from your projects. Psa.

How much did it cost my 570 is looking like it’s gonna need a rebuild
Around 1200
Dude edit your videos. Nobody needs to see you tightening bolts for four minutes, just say "tighten these bolts" then cut to it. But thanks for uploading, still useful.
Any update?
Unfortunately this build has come to an end had to return to the original owner

@@keithkelley8913 why
There selling me one like that but said the starter is out is there a way to jump the starter to hear the motor run?
If the starter bad, there is really no way to test. Sorry good luck
I did this recently. Took forever.. and it still was an out of date map sucks
Josh Bascii This update is for the software. You can get a map update on Ford.navigation.com
I just might be able to change mine now and get my big boy running again 😀

Looking beautiful. Can’t wait to see it on the road working for a living.
This is the worst jet ski rebuild follow along series ever.

The blue and yellow connector on the winch should be on the other side.
Mine was over 375,000 when I last checked. You should also do a paint it Blue
