New favourite video, thanks!
EXCELLENT videography!!!
Thanks. More to come.
Even though the camera moved some great shot's of your Hull Ty for sharing very nice boat!
Thanks. Ya that was a quick first attempt hoping no to loose my camera. I think I can it down a little bit more and secure it better.
That was awesome
Thanks

Hello
All you need now is 3500 dollar sound system nice ride
And you need to drive this fast on the water why ????
The chopper 30 seemed to get you moving pretty good and the boat looked great to get much prop walk but you where driving so I guess I'll stay tuned to see what your opinion is ,Thanks for sharing Good looking boat well done!
The Boat Rocks ! love the glass smooth water
I'm happy
wow!
Looks great Chris. What lake was that on?
That's Chemong and Gannon's Narrows. Bridgenorth Causeway at the end.
Great looking boat and you had some nice water for the ride!
Buddy boating at its best… hope you got it figured out 👍
I love those clam shell 90s… great ride … thx 👍
Loved watching the lay up, always wanted to try building a boat from scratch/ mould. I'm confused with the ounce weight glass matting, im in Australia and metric conversion for ounce i very fine 28 grams , would that be right or have i got it wrong.
The ounce figure is how much weight per square yard. So yes there would be 28grams per square yard. I guess the would be a little more if it's sold per square meter. Our rolls come in 38 and 50 inches wide.
@@MurphsFiberglassing now I see daylight, thankyou.
@@zanelorimer4030 1.5oz matt (which is per square feet, not yards) there is 10.7 square feet per metre square, also Convert ounces to grams. 1.5oz matt is equivalent of 450GSM chop strand matt
@@Klink3rs that makes sense and easier to understand, I have 450gsm in my small stock pile for repairs on transom and stringers. I'm over whelmed with gratitude to you all ☺️
Looks like your impeller is shot. Water stream seemed to weaken just before the motor shutdown.
Pisser's always been a little lame. Didn't feel hot. After it sat for 4 days I put the LU in a bucket of water. It fired right up. Ran good. Checked the fuel separator, it had a bunch of water in it. Will have to give it test run.
awesome sound on that 115 ProXS! Impressed
There is almost no water spraying out from under the sides of the boat telling me that it is indeed an efficient design that prevents water from uselessly escaping and thus forces it to run all the way aft and lift the hull. Many people don't realize it but this is one of the reasons Hickman Sea Sleds were more efficient than even step hydroplanes. VERY few designers get this, But the one view at the 5:11 mark to the 15:19 mark show the outboard motor's cavitation plate seems to be rather uselessly above the main surface of the water exiting the transom.
The cavitation plate with the extra drag plate attached to it is just for planning out the boat. This lower unit has a low water pickup on it so the motor is raised high. The center point of the prop shaft of the lower unit is a 1/2 inch above the bottom of the pad on the hull. Frees up the surface running prop with less lower unit drag and allows the motor to reach higher RPM.
Very interesting. I studied the bottoms carefully and I wonder if some of that doesn't go beyond hydrodynamic efficiency into the realm of the weird. Also at the 10:54 mark , doesn't that angled slope running well forward of the transom interfere with the water exiting clean at the level of the cavitation plate on the outboard?
Thanks for the reply. Most of the motors that we have run on these boats do not have low water pickup on the lower units. The angled slope has always provided a good water supply and allowed the motor to be raised a little higher on the boats for less lower unit drag.
Amazing camera work… that bow mount is innovative Chris… shots like we have never seen before… EXCELLENT… boat looks awesome 👍👍
Thanks. Got many more levels ands angles to check out yet. Should be able to get some under the hull too.
@@MurphsFiberglassing yeah. Looking forward to that one too 😎👍
yup, your cheeks were flapping :)
She's Beautiful love the interior back seats came out beautiful amazing design
Very Nice 👍
Great looking Boat maybe see ya on the water... very well done!
Outstanding Murph! Can wait to see it run!
Beautiful Job Bro Can't wait to see it
Thanks. Getting so close now.
Thanks for sharing Chris.
Great vid 👍
Amazing Chris Thanks for Sharing
Thx Chris. Your brother Dave built me a wonderful Charger DL. I always remember his patience with me...answered all my dopey questions with a smile. Thanks for sharing this. REALLY nice.
Very cool Murph!
Wow! So much info. Loved it! Thanks Chris!
Beautiful job Congrats Can't wait to see it
Thanks
Very cool concept 👍👍
Gives me lots of room for a bigger gas tank.
@@MurphsFiberglassing love it
Amazing workmanship as always.
Thank you
Is there a structural reason you built a knee-less transom? Such as isolating the running surface from the transom panel, or was it for reducing interior clutter and aesthetics ?
The way I build it with the core structure I figured they were not required. It's not that big of a transom overall. I over cored it as well and with the deck all core there shouldn't be any flexing. I guess will see.
@@MurphsFiberglassing Noted, thanks for the reply and vids.
looks GREAT Chris! Keep the vids coming!
Will do
Great looking boat very nice job and it's got a great looking gas tank no more red ones'll LOL
There's a little more room in this one. LOL
Does the resin wick itself down in between the balsa blocks ? Great vids.
Yes it does. As long as you wet it out. I make the Balsa panels and when you cut them up you can see they have. I always go a little resin rich when installing Balsa.
@MurphsFiberglassing Appreciate it, sir. I'm oddly obsessed with hull lamination, durability, longevity of light weight performance boats. Have been since elementary school in the '80s. I enjoy your work.
@@Resistculturaldecline Thank you. It's always been my passion. Is bagging or infusion better, for sure. For one off projects it's just not feasible and the gains are marginal.
So get a fin dugh.😏
All my motors have a fin. Helps but not enough. The two together work great.
👊 *Promo sm*
What are they for???
Small boats with heavy motors are hard to plane off. The bow will go way up in the air where you can't see anything in front of you and then planes off. By adding the sponsons the boat planes much quicker where I don't loose sight in front of me at all.
We appreciate all your uploads your projects sweet...
The guys on scream&fly are always asking would be a great side hustle..
