It's great that someone got the balls to try stuff like this and make some educations! Thank you BOSS!
@@vice111-g8v😅thanks I like digging around things like this
Thanks. Do you have any performance settings for VR?
You are welcome 🙏 Unfortunately I do not have any VR device to test :( I’m not sure if MSFS add additional command line and such when your VR is connected
@cpt-bossman no worries, thanks for the reply. I'll give it a go when I get a chance and report back. 🫡🏴
@ roger!
DLSS on the cockipt controls get blurry
You are not doing it right! it's not supposed to stay blurry
@ it's a button. On/off
Sorry I’m confused here, what’s going on?
@@cpt-bossman when DLSS is on on the quality mode, the cockpit panel is not clear
@@MasterCamus 1. What’s hour base resolution? 2. Did you apply the settings? 3. Did you update your DLSS file? 4. Did you install the latest Nvida Drivers? 5. What’s the graphic card?
Thank you worked great.
Awesome :)
The fact they do not swap it by an update says it all. they give a sh.... for the performance. no buy
Must be some reason behind this. Maybe sometimes when you work around a framework, you have to use an retain a type of file version etc. This is just speculation
@@cpt-bossman but then the interface must be changed. but when you easy can swap out the version with a tool like that dlss swapper it can't be that complicated.
@@cpt-bossman still a no buy, overall bad performance in vr
Does this work for VR?
Never tried
So if my native teso is 3860x2160 How should i use this setting on a 3080ti
Because SecondScaling 2.00000 will double the size of your current resolution. Try 1.1 then 1.2 increase until you see perf degradation
I am using DLSS with my NVIDIA 3080Ti only and it works perfect. But till I finally switch over to 2024, there still need a lot of approvement from the developer.
Good to hear that it’s working! Agreed but I think it should be expected, we are experiencing the same effect when MSFS2020 was released but this one is going to get fixed pretty quick I’m sure!
wouldnt it look better with medium to high settings and dlss quality?
It’s really up to what is best for you my man!
Man literally found a loophole in the regulations
Hahaha 😎
Hi ! I have the impression that it works, it's not bad. On the other hand it changed the color of the ath which is really not pretty now, is that normal?
Are you able to screenshot before and after?
The blurry effect was mostly due to the motion blur. At 0, i can read... almost. My screen is kinda small.
Resolution will affect it too for sure! What is your screen size? Are you ok 1080p?
@cpt-bossman 1920×1080p on a laptop 17inch.
Argh ! This trick is crashing my GPU ! RTX4070. Giving an error popup windows saying the GPU has crashed ! Before the crash itself, scenery takes a long time to load a Minecraft type scenery ! After few seconds on the tarmac CRASH and error message !
I'm willing to troubleshoot come to discord we can look into this
Use DLAA bro
Okay bruh!
Just use TAA with 4090.
If I use TAA with my 3090 it’s a gongshow on framerate
Depending of the situation I use TAA
Getting CTD not much improvement in fps tbh, graphics card 4090
It’s bizarre, I have 3090 and it’s working nicely and he has a 4090 and it’s working for him as well. Are you using it on 2024?
@ yeah getting roughly 50 fps as before getting 75+ fps and majority times getting CTD
@@sanjivbhattacharjee9469 what res do you use and do you have DLSS framegen ON?
In which airport you get 50 or 75 fps? I’m using 4090 I can get up to 120 fps dlss frame gen on
@ 5120 x 2160 yes frame gen on
Tried on RTX 2060 and still got the ghosting on PFD unless I zoom in a bit.
Good to know, how about clarity? Is it still blurry? What’s your base resolution?
I have an AZUS laptop with an RTX2060. It runs this? I haven't purchased because I figured my machine can't handle it. I play on 1080p of course. Runs 2020 on high just great.
@@PoochAndBoo if you can run msfs2020 with no issue then you can run msfs2024 with no issue

@ haha!
It works well!! Thanks you are a genius
You are welcome, Glad that it worked for you!
Nice landing boss. What replay system you use?
Thanks Willy! I am using this one: flightsim.to/file/8163/flight-recorder
Awesome with my old i7-3770K & RTX3060 a game-changer setting. With my specs the walk-around is awful... the movement is very laggy and walks always after releasing the key..... i hope in a mod to skip it
Sir! Am I reading this right? You are still rocking on a 3rd Gen i7 CPU to handle MSFS2024? Christmas is coming, I think it’s time ⭐️ Glad that it did something for ya!
Awesome tip, if you have an intel CPU i9900k, i10900k, 11, 12 and so on, make sure to disable Hyperthreading and Virtualization on your CPU config on bios as it improves performance and removes stuttering.
Interesting tip! I'll have to give it a try on my next flight! Thanks for sharing
Just so you know in case it's useful to you or anyone else. Rather than needing to put a username when specifying the path to flight sim, you can use %localappdata% instead. So someone could copy and paste %localappdata%/Packages\Microsoft.Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe and that would take them to the folder.
Maybe if you've got a super high end rig you might try not using DLSS ! You don't need to. We mere mortal moderate and low end rig owners might need to use it because budget constraints, but we are also not against turning the odd setting down a bit to get performance. Hell, I'm on a 5600x and a 4070, and get acceptable performance on High settings without DLSS. So sick of people with mega rigs spending $2k + on GPU's bangin' on about there problems . You got no problems Bruh !!
I did explain at some point that some people have to use DLSS and if this odd solution helps, then good for them! Now Bruuuuuuuuuuuh!!! Why are you getting sick over this, relax!! I can use TAA with no issue if that makes you feel better
📌 I wasn’t happy or proud of how my stream started today-so many issues with the plane, the sim, and especially my own mistakes. One flight you nail it, and the next, like this one, it all goes downhill! Thankfully, the stream turned around with an exciting challenge at the end. A real 767 pilot requested a visual approach with interception at 5nm (I gave him 3nm instead, haha), and we nailed a butter-smooth landing! My heart was pounding, and I was wide awake by the end! Feeling good now. Tomorrow is the big day-one of you who entered the giveaway will win a free copy of MSFS 2024!
It’s all good boss! The end was epic 🔥 Get some rest man!
Damn you had a rough start but the ending ❤🎉❤🎉 🎉❤🎉🎉 🎉 Captain Bossman!!!!!! 🛫
Is that what we call an happy ending?
Trick setting? It's not a trick setting! it's just AI upscaling, is all! I suggest that anyone who does not already know about DLSS, probably shouldn't be using the simulator.
Hahahahahahahaha YES!!!!! If you don’t know about DLSS stop using the simulator or any other games that use DLSS… Such a dumbass comment!
Can you change DLSS scaling behavior from the game option? Nope so it remains at trick!
@@cpt-bossman ???
For me it didnt work. I am using Ultra Settings and pretty much same as you on DLAA, and it dropped FPS to 2-10 on 4080 gpu. When using Ultra performance, I did get frames back, but Fenix 320 had all screens black. So, went back on using 1.0000. Thanks for tutorial thou. Maybe someone finds this usefull.
It’s so interesting that we can all have the same or similar hardware set up and we are not all getting the same results I’m still glad that you try and get me your feedback! See you in the skies ✈️
@@cpt-bossman Yeah i try usually if I can get better frames and quality. New sim so not alot of information there yet.
Wow thanks for this! I’m trying it now on my i7-13700f and RTX4070. It’s causing quite a bit of performance hit for me but looks so much cleaner. Had to drop down to performance where before I was on quality/ balance. Do you have any information on what this setting actually does ?
DLSS essentially takes a lower resolution version of your game and uses AI to upscale it, improving performance while trying to maintain good visuals. With this setting, we’re effectively doubling the scaling, which enhances image rendering based on your base resolution. However, if your base resolution is already high, you might experience some performance degradation in exchange for a sharper, clearer image with DLSS.
@@cpt-bossman Thank you, ya I think my base resolution was too high to use this, though it wasnt too bad. I havent really compared a lower than native 4k resolution with your edit yet. Now If we can get the airfield aircraft to load in with higher detail before Im right next to them, we will be set :)
Great Video! Thanks. Does anyone know how to brighten up the instrument panel lights? It's almost as if turning them up does nothing.
Thank you! Did you move over a third-party plane from 2020 to 2024?
@cpt-bossman No I'm using all stock 2024 aircraft.
Very good video! I will use this with my 4070 SUPER
Let me know how it goes Captain Zemp!
@ one of my friend tried it he said it helped a lot.
Tried your trick and then went to test it out. Two things happen, one I got a danno crash or something like that and secondly my FPS went from averaging 80's and 90's to 34 fps. After that I said hell no went and put it back and all was fine. Not a good trick to say the least. I noticed in your video you never did show your fps, regardless these were my results. My graphics card is a RTX 4080, 64 gigs of ram, 7900x3d CPU. Edit: blurry graphics was never a problem for me but the ghosting of numbers was a problem. I am running on DLSS and was using DLAA, switching from DLAA to Quality did fix the ghosting numbers. Just wanted to add that.
I’d like to know more about your case, hit me on discord so I can show you my FPS then we are going to check your issue 👍🏼
DLAA looks crips for sure but I prefer using BALANCED, while it’s not blurry on my side wit this 1 setting, I feel my sim is still smoooth. Thanks for the additional info
Definitely helped with my 3090. My file location was different w Steam users/NAME/roaming/microsoftflightsimulator/ Thanks!
You are welcome, great to know it worked for you! And this is a great point, I’ll have to find the path for Xbox and Steam
Gotta try this later when I get home. I use TAA because I hate the blurry screens
Yeah let me know and tell me which card you use
how often do you see vram usage > 16GB? Thank you
I’m between 9-13 for 22Gb available
I tried this for both MSFS2024 and 2020 and it works. However this will eat up your vram so there is no benefit for me with a 12 gb card. Still getting better performance by just using TAA.
I am interested to know which card you do use?
@cpt-bossman a rtx 4070ti. Msfs 2024 already is quite heavy on the vram and if i load in some heavy scenery it likes to eat up my vram quickly
@@titelrolvertolkerThanks for sharing, this is interesting, we have a device running on same config and we get better perf with this setting than using TAA, VRAM usage is 10.8 in NYC with FrameGen and mix high/medium settings
@@cpt-bossman can you maybe share the graphics settings?
So I have a pretty high end PC and have heard that the DLSS in 24 is running an older version. Would just updating this on a higher end PC give the same results? Or would I still need to modify the config file? This sim being so buggy and knowing many many fixes are coming I want to try and avoid editing a config file....
The performance gain from updating the DLSS file is minimal, around 2-5%, but you might notice a slightly clearer picture. Unfortunately, this is due to how DLSS is implemented in MSFS2020 and MSFS2024, where the rendering resolution is set low by default. To improve it, you’ll need to adjust the value in the config file unless Microsoft introduces a slider or setting to tweak it directly in the sim. As I mentioned, this tweak is optional and easy to reverse if you’re not happy with the results but doubt that MS will do something about it. Cheers 🥂
Does this work for 2020 as well?
It should but I'm not sure if the config file works be the same or if you would edit the same config file for 2020. Either way definitely update DLSS on 2020 as you would on 2024
@@tombrady5867 Yes it does, each sim have their own folder (path in the description), dlss and usercfg. You just need to modify each
Worked like a charm...thank you brother
@@tombrady5867 Glad to hear 👍🏼
Great stuff man. Thanks a lot. Well I was excited too soon too early. My system froze. Running a 4090 and a 7950X3D here. Plenty of headroom but didnt work out. Latest drivers installed. DLSS in quality mode. The numbers are blurry when I push the stick forward. Was the case in 2020 and again in 2024. How do I fix this? Any suggestions? Thx again. Keep up the work.
@@MartinGraeff After updating the DLSS version and applying the setting you still have blurry issue?
Well, you clearly missed something cuz i use the same hardware and it definitely gives results
@@kamex11 I agree but what?
@@cpt-bossman I think I know what causes the issue here. I use DSR factors in NCP. My resolution in MSFS is 3840x2054 and fullscreen 4096x2160. I read some stuff about SecondaryScaling is talking about scaling within MSFS but can be done outside MSFS as well with NCP. This is what I found: "...secondary scaling set to 2.0 simply let the sim being rendered in 2x the resolution you selected ingame. Means: you can achieve this using render scale set to 200 or simply using DSR factors." So my guess is you use Sec scaling or you use DSR factors not both. Means overkill on the GPU.
@@MartinGraeff Ah, there it is-you’ve pinpointed the issue! DSR scales the image based on the post-DSR resolution, and using this trick essentially doubles that scaling that you already have. For example, if you're working with 4096x2160, doubling it brings you to a near 8K resolution, which puts a heavy load on VRAM and tanks your frame rates which could cause crash. DSR and Secondary Scaling achieve similar results, so it really comes down to which one works best for you. Personally, I’ve noticed some ghosting with DSR. If you want to stick with DSR for general scaling but leverage Secondary Scaling specifically for FS, you might consider starting with a lower base resolution like 2560x1440 or 3840x2160, then let Secondary Scaling do its thing. With a 4090, this setup should be a breeze! Hope this help brother!
The plane is good but I don’t like how the bottom half of the landing gear no-clips through the ground
Agreed! But there is so many other things they need to work on!
I use TAA which my fps is around 35 but I tried this an it feels like butter especially regarding the imput on the joystick, thank you for sharing SUB!
You're welcome, glad it's working for you!
I have to use DLSS cause that's how I get the smoothest result despite the bluriness and you my guy found a way to make it clear!!!!!!!! RESPECT CAPTAIN!!! 💯
Thanks, glad this helped, enjoy the smoother performance!
Are gonna fight today
Yes
Subbed! You the bossman. Will try this on my 4080. My performance is already smooth enough but I will try this also! Does that have any help on the blurry scenery or we still have to wait for a microsoft fix do you think?
Thanks my man! 🤜 I hope this give an extra help! This is just for your raw performance when flying by using DLSS. The building form and blurry texture terrain is on MS side.
⚠ *Important Note:* If you’re using GPU scaling like NVIDIA DSR, be cautious-it can overload your GPU and VRAM, especially at 4K or higher, potentially causing performance issues and game crash. For lower resolutions, it can boost quality without major FPS loss. - TAA offers the best visual quality, but not all systems can handle it. For performance or preference, try DLSS. If TAA works perfectly for you, skip tweaking this-it won’t add much. - For DLSS users, experiment with presets like Ultra Performance, Performance, Balanced, Quality, or DLAA (focused on Anti-Aliasing). Test to find the best fit for your hardware. - Update your NVIDIA drivers, and don’t forget the AMD FidelityFX Sharpening slider in the sim for sharper visuals! 👊
