Prior to the current development of Hudson Yards, the old Hudson Rail Yard was a proposed site for the Olympic Stadium in New York’s bid to get the 2012 Olympics. The stadium was then to be a new home for the New York Jets. It got nixed when the Olympic Bid failed.
Nice video man !

"I ran out of daylight" - great title for a song!
@@Twentythousandlps Lol love it
con is obvious, you need to be RICH 🤣
If you need to make an L to the lower east side there’s a train called ‘L’. Goest to west.
@@anitaschuloff2557 Correct!
Red Line, Blue Line? What city are you talking about?? The Red and Blue line are in Chicago. NYC has the 1,2,3, A,E,F, C,D and a few others. No Red or Blue. Orient yourself
@@kkelly9424 You’re calling me out on my laziness Kelly lol! Idk why but I’ve always said “blue” instead of ACE seeing it’s all the same color. You’re right though when I’m doing these videos I should be more detailed and speak as a local!
I lived on riverside boulevard for a year and a half. The only things I really miss are: Riverside Park, the west side bike path/greenway and the Equinox on 67th. There are plenty of things I don’t miss, far more than what I do. The wind there was horrendous, everything nearby was very expensive and it’s pretty boring. I rarely felt like the groceries or restaurants I went to were worth the money. I enjoyed my time there, but I probably won’t move back.
Great info, thanks for sharing your perspective! RSB is pretty west too! Where do you like now?
I love family together ❤ bravo 👏
It was so much fun making and filming this 🤣🤗
@holtrealestate it definitely looked like alot of fun. Gratis
It’s a nice neighborhood to visit, but everything is expensive including apartments, much of it is touristy, dirty and crowded, and it’s not as safe as people assume.
Quite expensive indeed. A lot of my clients also consider the Upper West Side (UWS) for its similar vibe of the tree-lined streets with brownstones. You have Central Park and Lot of restaurants on Amsterdam and Columbus. Much better pricing there. One of my first videos I made was about the UWS ruclips.net/video/QA7pzHF_DiM/видео.html
@ Just moved from UWS to Park Slope. Liking it much more! Love the channel, keep it up 👏
@@newyorkvisionary Ah my favorite! I love it there! I feel like WV, UWS and Park Slope have common traits. Park Slope is one of the most resilient neighborhoods in all of NYC
@ Absolutely! The architecture is some of the best in the city in all 3, but in their own unique ways 🙏
Bravo Nephew 👏🏼👏🏼 ‘Ting of Beauty.. 🤌🏼🇮🇹🤌🏼🇮🇹🤌🏼🇮🇹
Great video! I would add that the UES is more known for visual arts (Museum Mile), while the UWS is more known for its performing arts (Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, various theaters, etc).
Excellent point!!
@ Another fun fact is the UWS used to have a lot of apartment hotels. Maybe they still have them. They are/were apartments with hotel services.
@@ShutterBugMom19 Yes there are still a few! I am going to release a video comparing the UWS to UES which will be fun to see who prefers which neighborhood
@@holtrealestate It’s interesting how the UES and UWS vibes are so different from each other. Just looking at the architecture on 5th vs CPW could make you think you’re in a different borough. 😂
@@robinbirkel3567 Lol very true. Columbus and Amsterdam Aves offer an interesting vibe especially in the 70's-80's with a lot of restaurants. Closer to the park too. It will be great comparing things like this to the UES
Regarding the size of properties in West Village: just how small is small? In terms of square feet, what would be the average size of a 2 bedroom apartment? Really excellent and informative video.
Most commonly, 2br condos in West Village will be about 1500sf. I ran a search for you of the active inventory actually. Keep in mind coops will be less in price and often larger (however they don't disclose sf!)
Heres a link to those listings! cmps.re/3PxnniR
Love your content! I will most likely move to NYC soon, and I'll definitely contact you and your team. Keep it up! Greetings from Germany :)
Thanks, looking forward! I actually have clients relocating from Germany as well! I saw your email come in, I'll contact you there
Dude, you need to stop at red lights if you’re on a vehicle. Lots of strollers in that area 🤦🏼♂️ Be better
Another con is...despite all of the charm, parts of the W. Village can get quite noisy. The narrow, congested streets amplify the vehicular sounds...
Good point!
Noisy and has many elements of crime
Why is older apartments a con? No one wants new apartments. Thats why the UES is so expensive.
I was referring to apartments that need renovations. I for one love the older pre-war style with all the character that’s been well kept or needs some light updating!
Great video
🙏🏼 🙏🏼
Absolutely stunning
The groom must be Italian.
No shit
OMG LOVE it !!!
😍😍
the upper east side is a DREAM ..... All PROS !!!!!!!!
Lol I love it there too
Best night ever !!
You guys were genuinely funny! The Flint Michigan water made me howl!! Fun tour; well done.
Lack of parking isn’t a con, it’s a pro: it means fewer drivers causing noise pollution and dangerous streets
Great point!
Not if you have a vehicle and living there .
Why can't AI make faces or hands?
Dude, why didn’t you just start over? I like you and your videos, but oy, this is a train wreck.
The Q line is fantastic for getting to Broadway and theaters!
Game changer!!
I need to know what's the minimum number of staff and capital equipment required to maintain its luster till the time I plan to own the property. What will be the projected monthly bill. This house NEEDS staff (or at least till we get the OpenAI + Boston Dynamics domestic robots).
Lol Boston Robotics would be great. Certainly needs staff! At least one caretaker in my op!

Would it be possible to convert the half bath to a full bath?
Potentially. The closet with washer/dryer is right next to it and the other full bath is on the other side of the wall. Theres space to work with for sure. If you'd like to view with a contractor and get a free estimate just let me know. Are you currently looking for a place in NYC?
Can you show Riverdale?
Its a little far from me but I'll make my way there eventually!

Nice looking guy. 👀😍
😊
Michael I've got two days in NYC after I've been to The Met and The Guggenheim where to next ?
Ooo if you like museums theres also the Frick in the UES and of course Museum of Natural History, Moma... Other than these its rooftop season. I'd definitely go to one of those! Here is a link to a list I made, enjoy! maps.app.goo.gl/jASx9Xm4mCLF5KeS9
Great video, but you need to work on the sound, music is to loud compared to your voice. ;)
Thanks for the feedback! This was actually my 2nd video I've edited! Curious to your thoughts on some of my new ones! Heres a more recent ruclips.net/video/Uy8cP1F_qQM/видео.html
In my opinion you can never go wrong living 2 blocks either side of the park from 59th street to the museums, 50 years ago, or 50 years from now. I spent my summers growing up at 20w 64th and in my own apartment in my 20s. my only regret in life was not keeping my fathers apartment when my brother gave it up under rent control, i'd be paying 900 a month and the last middle class person left in the city.
Ah yes rent control apts are so rare. Its a crazy time to rent here too. Right now is the lowest vacancy since the 60's and the rental rates set a record this year. Prices have fallen a lot for sales but still expensive. Its a good investment play for those who have the cash to play. You are right about location, the premium areas are west of Lexington but quite expensive.
@@holtrealestate I retired at 50 and after traveling extensively for 10 years i find myself at 60 in good physical shape but priced out of a return to NYC. my sweet spot would be a townhouse between riverside and the park within short walking distance of Zabar's. and so i must live in exile at the beach in summer and the desert in winter on the west coast with only short visits to the city that never sleeps. the center of the known universe.
@@kaspar_1982 Sounds like an amazing routine. If you ever are curious about renting or buying here just lmk! Glad to help you weight things out and send over options. Wheres your top 3 favorite places you traveled? I know its hard to pick Im sure!
I'm from Philly & got a taxi 🚖 to go to the lower eastaide to meet a date from Brooklyn....THIS MAN ISN'T LYING about making that L shape on the map...brutal drive
LOOOOL!! Hope it went well
The global capital. Hard to beat for many reasons though real estate there has been mixed since brexit and a couple of other reasons
Noted!
Nice briefs. Keen em up.

Very nice sentiments about the problems in the world then and still current. Your videos are very natural and informative. All the best for your career from 🇦🇺
Thank you!!

Loved your vlog. And your open mind 😊😊
Thank you! I have a Toronto Vlog and other neighborhood pros and cons videos, hope you enjoy!
If i were a gay man, you'd be my type I reckon
Looool
the lot tax of that town house is 10,000 US dollar per month????? I don't understand this math, who the hell can afford such high tax???It does not make any sense...
Actually it is an apartment! The taxes are $4,742 and building charges $5,115. In NY monthlies are certainly amongst the most expensive in the country!
