Hey, this is a very different kind of video of what i usually do, but I kinda wanted to be able to talk about my experience of living in Japan and what stood the most out to me. It's a country that i love but i have not done discovering yet.

Hey there, this is actually a very old vlog from 12/05, but was not able to release it till now! We went to sawai, which is a litlle village in Ome, so still in Tokyo even though we were surrounded by mountains. Went to takao san, one of Tokyo's most loved spot by Japanese and Tourists alike to escape the city for a day. Went alone to an exhebition, to explore the "art" side of Japan. Was a lot of fun. Then i went home and tried to rearrange the furniture, but did not work out as well as i wanted. Tried something different today, went outside when it rained, took a lot of shots and tried to give an artistic turn to the video. It's an idea I had in mind for a while know. I should have done something like this 10 years ago when I didn't have any responsibilities. Now it is too late. I encourage people who are on the fence about moving to Japan to just do it if you are young, free and don't have any major responsibilities. If you don't you will come to regret it sooner than later. Cheers.

Hello! I just found your channel and really like the vibe and the captured moments. Probably gonna watch all of your vids in the next few days to catch up. I really like liked your apartment and the short walk you showed with the train crossing, it looks very "japan" :D Can you tell me the area where you live and how expensive it is? I would like to go to Japan, maybe Tokyo, next year and im searching for options where to live.
Hey, made me happy to read your comment! I prefer not to tell where i live, but i can recommend you the concept of sharehouses. I live in one right now, met a lot of people this way. As long as you don't search for something in the centre of tokyo, the prices should be doable since the yen is so weak atm.
Kōenji is one of my favorite places in Tokyo. It has many places to go while still being a n old town with their stuff. I love the market/shopping mall. You can easily get games, mysic and toys for cheap like in Mandarake store.

Hey, thanks for the comment, appreciate it a lot! I filmed with a really basic camcorder, the sony handycam HDR CX 240. The image quality you see in the video is basically the quality the camera shoots with

really simple, i just use capcut, nothing fancy, i think it's on of the best softwares out there for vlogs. A lot of things ready to go such as background removal, stickers, music etc. However there was one scene where totoro is sitting on the tree with a shaky camera. I had to make that scene in another program (hitfilm) because movement tracking was needed for totoro to always be sitting on the tree. Hope this helps!

I love shimokitazawa! It's full of vintage shops and thrift stores and cute cafes. My friend and I went to the flea market they have there, it was really cool but the prices were a little high lol. There's a lot of other stuff too, perfect for buying random shit that's actually so nice hahaha. But I saw online that people recommend koenji instead of shimokitazawa.
Shimokitazawa was really cool but indeed pricey, tho you can find some good thrifts. I heard the same from friends that Koenji is also a nice area and might even be better, ill be sure to go one day😁
