This was a very good video. Very even-handed and clear, pointing out good and not-so-good things. Very refreshing. Makes me want to check out Leicester. I think you should make more videos, on other, smaller cities in England. By the way, I live in Chicago. I enjoyed that one too. @@samvjordan Durham is next on my list actually ! I went to Lincoln last March, and because of the time of year and week I got essentially a private tour of the cathedral there. What a great experience ! Yea I like living in Chicago well enough, although to be honest it's seen better days. The covid stuff really hit the city hard, and the city government is incompetent. Like a lot of places. I've seen quite a few videos about the state of things in smaller UK cities, and so many of them are angry. I appreciated that yours was not like that. I'll look forward to your videos to come.
Oh you'll love Durham I'm sure. Lincoln is so underrated, it has some great things going for it. You're very lucky, the cathedral is beautiful! Yeah, a lot of people are negative about many UK cities, but there are plenty of gems though, Durham being one of them for sure. Thank you for subscribing :)

I've lived in Leicester for most of my life, and I got clickbaited badly by this 😭 good video, I agree with all the points you put. I think Leicester is a good city if you want to settle down but I agree that there's not much for us young adults and I plan on leaving when I'm done with uni because I don't have much in terms of my career here. It's a lot nicer in a lot of parts than other nearby cities I've been to, but the city centre is quite tired looking nowadays and it's definitely more safe going to Fosse Park. That being said, I will continue to defend New Walk and Victoria Park (in the day), one of my favourite parts of any UK city still. I also appreciate you mentioning the segregation between communities. I love the diversity of Leicester but I don't like how it feels so split between communities, especially in Highfields where Hindus and Muslims have such a divide. The 2022 race wars were definitely worrying as someone who is on one of the two sides, and I used to work part time on the Sainsbury's on London Road during that time so I was often travelling through the area. One point about the crime rate though: a very large amount of that is likely due to bike thefts, it seems to be the bike theft capital of the Midlands.
I appreciate the comment bro. On the point of settling down, I’ll make a distinction between the city and the county because as you said the city is pretty tired, but there are great areas of the county to live in long term eg Charn/rutland/harborough. You’re definitely right about fosse park. I used to work for Sainsbury’s too, not that one tho lol. Also pls like and sub for more :)

You can literally leave hostess twinkie out for a year+ and they never rot. I stay away from such food items like that. Same thing with McDonald's cheeseburger.

As a Chicagoan, this was cute! To anyone else visiting, avoid the chain restaurants, there are so many independent places to eat that you never have to set foot in a Subway or Corner Bakery! There's also different kinds of pizza, not just deep dish. Also, visit the neighborhoods, not just downtown. The boat tour really is the best way to see the city, especially when it's nice outside. Enjoy!
That's good advice. We thought Corner Bakery was an artisan café haha, turns out we were wrong.

Always good to see you when someone visiting the USA doesn’t go to New York or Boston. Those are the easiest stops but not representative of the country. Chicago is right in the middle and gives you a good flavor. How is school treating you?

Did you enjoy your first baseball game ?? Wrigley field is a classic.Chicago has one more baseball team. the white sox, as well as a nfl nba and nhl teams and yes it even has a soccer team.

You are welcome. Yes, the Chicago is very good. The are different selections to select from. Deep dish pizza is what many of Chicagoland people like here. And that was good you and your friends went to a Cubs baseball game there in the Lakeview neighborhood. Yes, there are tons of bars to go to. When you come to stay here you will see many many more great things to do. Then you can go to New York and see the great places to go there. I live both cities because of my families in both of them. Great food in both cities!!😊😊❤

Found your decision to go see the Home Alone house rather strange. It is of zero architectural significance. There are so many other things in and around the city that you would have better off spending your time seeing.

English muffins aren't called that because they're from England. The creator was an English baker who moved to New York in the 1800's and modified a crumpet recipe and named it "English Muffins". They're a very popular breakfast bread product here that are used to make small egg sandwiches or just to spread butter/jam on to.

Did you enjoy Chicago as much as New York? I feel Chicago is a cleaner, nicer version of NY and very underrated. Most tourists go to New York or L.A instead of Chicago and they're really missing out!
That’s a really good question. I would say that I had high expectations for nyc and although it wasn’t a let down, I think Chicago was surprisingly underrated. I think NYC is great to live in because of the opportunities but as a tourist I actually think Chicago was a slightly better city. It’s cleaner, the people are a little friendlier and there’s definitely plenty to do. I might be biased because I spent more time there though.
Rogers Centre is where the Baseball team plays the Hockey and Basketball teams play in the Scotiabank Arena right next to the Rogers Centre

Our late mini used to check through the bottom balcony window if it was raining before her morning walk. When it did, she would go back to bed and try to hide as much as possible so she wouldn't have to go out. It never really worked for her, so she always just did her job as quickly as possible and immediately set course home :).
