New River Gorge National Park, Sandstone Falls: April 4, 2024 @SeniorRVTrips
Enjoyed a pleasant stroll on the boardwalk at impressive Sandstone Falls (1500 feet wide) at New River Gorge National Park! Also, stopped at Brooks Falls with lunch in Hinton, West Virginia. Remarkably changing weather: snow, sun, rain, hail, blue skies; sometimes changing within minutes!

Also, hiked the String Lake Trail to Leigh Lake. Stopped at Jackson Lake Lodge for a snack and drink on the deck. Magnificent view! Walked up the half-mile Lunch Tree Hill Trail; more views! Took a short 1.5 mile round trip hike on the Tanner Tail at Grand Canyon National Park. Gettysburg is such a beautiful town. I walk the battlefield on a regular basis. It’s awesome to have access to history in that way. I very much enjoy walking through the park and imagining what the battle was like. It’s a whole different perspective. When you’re going through the park on foot, it’s a completely different experience than in your car. To see the vast amount of area where the battle took place blows my mind. You two covered a lot in one day. It gives me great happiness to see other people enjoying history as much as I do. The fact that you took your family there when they were children speaks volumes, plus your knowledge of the battlefield tells me you enjoy and appreciate history as well. Thank you for sharing your video!

Thank you! It also "gives ME great happiness to see other people enjoying history as much as I do." Glad to have your feedback. I am very happy you spent some time with this video. I always wanted my children to have good memories of these historic places in their early years so they would want to come back and learn more. This year I experienced some of that fruit! We did spend three days touring the field. I only filmed a portion of our experience, but we did cover quite a bit. As you know, there are always many more lesser know places to explore (ex. Sach's Bridge, Black Horse Tavern, Devil's Kitchen, etc.), as well as the never-ending deeper understanding of the well-known sites. Thanks again!
