Across Canada on a marketplace bike!
I have always wanted to see more of Canada. What better way is there than by motorcycle?
The plan (atleast) was to fly out to Montreal and buy the best(cheapest) bike off Facebook and ride it home.

I was invited to go out on a wr250r and follow my buddies "trail" riding. I should have asked for some clarification first 😅

Well done ! I did a similar trip on a 90 PC800 last year . Bought it and rode it coast to coast . The unknown just added to the adventure . The ST1300 has a great history and is a known mile muncher . Great job !
Thanks for watching and sharing! I would definitely do another trip like this agajn
What's a "marketplace" bike? Looks like a Honda. or is this some sort of click bate BS to get people to watch.
Purchased used off Facebook marketplace..
Can’t say I’m not disappointed… half way thru, no crashes and no wheelies 😞. Glad it was a safe trip even tho you didn’t even say hi 😜.
Probably a good BDR video, but with the flippant and casual use of the f-bombs, not so good with our two young sons...
Sorry to disappoint Thx for the feedback
I always considered one of those for highway cruises. Bet it’s smooth as glass at 70
bad vid with bad language?????????????????????????/
Sorry, thanks for the feedback
Thats what the homeless call it too. 😂
❤❤❤
just finished Wyoming Baggs to Montana border last week. Incredible experience. Go slow is my advise. Some areas are quite challenging.
What's dumb??? It's a trail bike.... someone has to make the trail. Might as well stay on the road if you don't want want to ride on a trail.😢😢😢😢
Thanks for the comment👍
Trail bike, not a jungle bike.
Wow, this trail looks really sketchy after a good rain. Way to power through it. Great video, thank you for posting.
I appreciate the response! The clay in the dirt is pretty brutal when wet. I'll definitely be watching the weather before I go back.
@@traineeadv as will I if I do this BDR someday. I definitely need more experience before I attempt something like this though.
Swamp buggies! 👍
Adventure lol!
Yes!
Brave lol!
Heck ya! Already did 👍🏻👊🏼
I'm following you next time!
@@traineeadv 👊🏼👍🏻
there is an area on the way to big white called the Greystoke Range, or the Ashanola Valley. Head up there for more trails in the alpine, some very gnarly sections though. i don't know what it's like now, i rode there in the 80's. Somewild flowers might be in bloom, it's crazy up there.
Awesome 👍 thanks for the tip. I may need to earn some stripes before Dolly goes anywhere gnarly tho!
I’ve done parts of that route. Pretty awesome, eh? 👍🏻
It was a VERY special place! Thanks for the follow!
@@traineeadv cheers!
This was an amazing leg of the trip! I appreciate you stopping in!
It was awesome to finally meet up with AdvRiley and ride around new areas of southern Alberta. Thanks for watching! Please consider helping me out, drop a 👍 and subscribe
The air pump lives under the ledt side panel otherwise this ALL gets stuffed under the seat. Thanks for watching!
Wow. I thought that was mud at first.
Haha I wish! It would have smelled better
Been there done that. Good ol’ Sask sunset.
Nice wheels. Keep the vids and the shorts coming bro. 😎
Thx!
Hmmm... Rally mode...
I love the LCD flip but I was it was more of a true black and not a bluish color. I’m going to install it anyways and hope it grows on me like most things but we’ll see
I gave you a thumbs up, then listened to the needless “F-bombs”, so I undid my thumbs up.
Thanks a lot for sharing -- plenty of great lessons and reminders in here, such as the need for appropriate tires but also that slow speed in this kind of mud just doesn't work (and to fix that you need confidence based on skills built up through experience). Also, just looking at the luggage loaded up high on a bike that is already extremely top heavy make me feel exhausted... which is another reminder of the need for strong physical condition for this kind of riding!
Thanks so much.. that experience prompted a few changes this winter.. lower luggage.. took some weight off the bike and me lol
@@traineeadv Have been in the same situation too... in mud and especially in deep sand, and I just don't have the confidence/experience to tackle these properly. Trouble is the pros make it look easy... and this reminded me I really need to work on my own skills! After a few pick ups of my KTM 690 I get exhausted.... I wouldn't have liked it with the Tenere!
I know you a newbie, but you have absolutely no business being out there alone… And dolly?
Looks like your really enjoying yourself, 🙄 ill
Man what an adventure. I know you said it wasn't tires, but a skill issue. It sure seemed like the reverse to me. Although being in eastern KY where some stuff never dries out, even knobbies won't save you from some of the mud that just keeps you from having any grib at all. It seemed like that's what it was here. Just unfortunate timing with the weather. Definitely sub'd, can't wait to see more!
Thanks for watching! I'm looking forward to redemption this summer. It's nearly riding season again here in the frozen north so I can't wait!
This is the 1st video of yours that I've watched. I really like the unscripted commentary. Makes it real and down-to-earth. Thanks so much!
Thanks so much!
Ive heard this ride was incredibly scenic, but didn't realize it was this awesome!
I highly recommend it! I can't wait to go back
Oh Man That mud section looked horrible!
Just a bit dicey!
So I have to ask- How did you change the display to show dark back ground?
Look up my other videos color Clusterz
@@traineeadv just found it! super cool upgrade
Awesome, did a couple sections of CO & ID BDRs solo last year after riding up from FL scary to be solo but so rewarding and beautiful
Solo can definitely be intimidating but I struggle to find a travel buddy lol
Good job thanks for showing
That's nutz but absolutly Fun as hell. Enjoy those bikes fellas 👊💪✌️😉
Awesome ride, where is this?
Esterhazy Sk - supersledders trail
Do you think that little T support on the back would make a strong base to lift the bike from underneath the skid plate with a lift stand? Great video btw, thank you!
I likely wouldn't trust it.. I lift mine from under the shock linkage if I'm doing rear tire swaps on the lift. If I need to get the shock off the skid plate is off so I'm usually lifting it under the rear pegs
@@traineeadv thanks for the response. I wouldn't trust it either, but I really like the perks of this AXP one.
@@spencerAce I suppose the T isn't so much the issue as it is the #10or#12 bolt holding the weight
Lets all face it, the you tube is chalked full of newbie "ADV" riders naively attempting to ride off road on bikes that are not intended for such extremes. Only in rare circumstances of extreme athleticism and strength, and extensive off road experience, are these journeys doable.....with a reasonable degree of calculated risk. Its not the tires, its not the so called "top heaviness" ( all bikes are top heavy to one degree or another, if not they are too low and too wide...etc), its not any of that...its the experience reading terrain, the ability to know when to stop and turn around....reassess. It appears that the go for it, and when you break a leg from an overloaded bike ( at a stand still), its part of the adventure. Itchy boots finally broke her hand from the simple mistake of riding in tall grass and dropping into a camouflaged hole...that is off road 101 in my view...So lesson's have to be learned in this growing swamp of dropped, injured, stranded, rescued, riders showing their adventures to the world...doesn't look like fun to me. And lets all be honest about the chit chat while riding....the key to successful riding particularly at this beginner trainee level is to focus focus focus....keep your thoughts internal, and think...think and read the trail...learn in the process....chatting away and dumping your bike over and over does not make a good off road video. Leave that to the pros.....ARiemann1 for example...same bike often in the videos he makes and i don't recall him once mentioning the topic of top heaviness.....He praises the bike.....and teaches the art of off road riding...by not crashing out over 5 meters.
Wyoming is AMAZING! Keep up the good work. 👍
Kudos to you for getting out there!!! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
Love the editing. Nice work!
Pretty dang cool adventure!
It is a trip for the ol memory banks for sure. It's fun to relive it here over the winter while I plan more for 2024. Thanks for watching!
Epic music
Epic hey!
So cool. Thanks for creating. If you could do it again, would you choose a lighter bike?
Probably just better tires. My entire trip was 2800mi / 4500km with 2/3 being pavement so the trialmax missions did great until it got muddy. While I struggle with the T7 on some offroad I will chalk that up too my lack of experience and fitness
Unrelated question....were you part of the QCMA in the early 2000's? BTW love the vids.
Yep, lots of those vids on my other channel
@@traineeadv Ha. You remember a guy with the black Grand National?
@@DS-gv5fs heck yeah! Hope you've been well!
@@traineeadv Yes I have. Down in Florida now. We all had some good times running those courses. And I STILL can't drive! 🤣
@DS-gv5fs yeah we had some great times! Congrats on the move! Small world that you came across this channel
You captured it well! Good luck!!
That was a bad place to be... solo on a big ADV bike. When it rains in the west, some places will have miles and miles and miles of knobby clogging mud. Have read about multiple ADV groups getting stranded out in the back country. Bike were so clogged with mud they couldn't move... other riders burned out their clutches. You do carry an InReach/SPOT/Zoleo... yes ?
Most of my trip was out of cell reception and I was happy to have my Spot tracker. I'm going to upgrade to an inreach however for next season.
