    Pps And guess what else? You know when you”click where it says instrument “? Mine doesn’t say instruments! It’s like I’m bloody cursed; literally every time I try to do ANYTHING in this world (as in Pro Tools, logic, Final Cut Pro, word, MuseScore, etc. ) and it says “just simply click where it says blah blah“ I look it doesn’t say blah blah. I click everywhere else it doesn’t say blah blah. I try 5000 different things. It doesn’t say blah blah. I’m either completely cursed, or I’m a complete fool… what the hell? And yes, I have version 4.4.4. Screw it, I’m going to write it by hand. 🤣 May I end by saying this “Aaaaaarrrrrgggghhhhhh” !!!!!

      Steve, You are not alone. I have been using MuseScore 3 since it came out. It is a GREAT program (imperfect, but very good), BUT ... HORRIBLE user interface. It took me DAYS of studying and watching videos and going to the Musescore forum to learn how to do the basics. The interface is improved in version 4.4, but still NOT intuitive. Please do me a favor and send me an email at bonar.harris@gmail.com. I have an idea that might be helpful (and no, I am not selling anything.).

    There's got to be an easier way !!! Dear Musescore, Since you are GREAT at hearing us users... please add a "Guitar with Tab" option so that with ONE click we're off and writing. ps. Thanks for this tutorial, great job !!!

      Hi Steve! They do have a template for that! In this video, I showed the long way around because my intention was to just show new users. around the program a little bit. How about I shoot a very quick SHORT video that shows the shortcut way? Stay tuned - I will post a SHORT in the next day or two. BTW, I am just a MuseScore User, just like you. I only recently upgraded to version 4.4 because I HATE upgrades. That's why i am doing the MuseScore videos - for me and for you! Hang in there! It DOES get easier.

      I just looked again. There IS a mistake. At 7:41, at the end of the musical interlude, the musical interlude resolves to the G chord pattern, but the C chord TAB is on the screen. My apologies. Other than that, everything is okay. just a video editing mistake, but confusing for you. Very sorry about that.

    "don't press too hard" -> me while playing SRV style bends: "This is fine."

    • @bonarsmusic01
      @bonarsmusic01 Месяц назад

      SRV, and many other players, developed HIS OWN signature approach that encompassed many things, including strong gauge and instrument setup. Did he make it work? Yep. Did he get a particular sound? Yep. Did he do it the hard way? Yep. I am trying to teach beginners the easiest way to get results with the least pain. But there are lots of different ways to get the results you want. And if you have found your own way and you are getting the result you want, rock on! 🤘🏻

  • @rsz90182
    @rsz90182 Месяц назад

    Never used a tuning fork. I heard SRV for the first time hit is open low E and I never forgot the tuning of that. I can tune any guitar to SRV half step down. I don't know how but I can hear in my head and I can match it exactly. I am not a pro musician just love it as a hobby to copy notes and play along.

    • @bonarsmusic01
      @bonarsmusic01 Месяц назад

      Our ability to remember a tone we hear is a skill we can develop and improve, with practice. And it's a very helpful skill to have, as I am sure you have noticed. Pro or not, as long as you're enjoying your music, you are doing it right! Rock on!

    Why the note A why not E or C

    • @bonarsmusic01
      @bonarsmusic01 2 месяца назад

      It is hard to be 100% sure, but the generally accepted idea is that A was chosen because all the stringed instruments had an "A" string, which made it possible for viola and violin and cello etc to all be tuned to the same standard. Important to remember that the whole issue of tuning standard emerged from the time when people began playing together - starting in early Renaissance and becoming very common around 1600.

    Sorry, but snark has given me and a bunch of my colleagues too many problems to call it reliable. We prefer the d'addario clip on tuners. They're fantastic in every way! And they can be hidden pretty easily

      Sorry to hear that. I am not endorsing Snark - I have had pretty good results with the Snark, although the plastic case desiccates and becomes brittle after a few years. I have not tried the D'Addario, but I will take your word for it. Maybe I should do a comparison of low-end clip on tuners. Any other ones I should look at?
