I’m actually leaving Schneider now and going to swift intermodal in Northern California, so swift is better then Schneider? I know Schneider don’t pay that much
I’m tryna figure the same thing out bro I’m with Schneider local tanker thinking about going to swift intermodal local in Houston😂
@@danthonydavis24 I been at swift intermodal for 2 weeks and love it bro good money and just drop and hook
Wow, this definitely isn’t New York pay. It doesn’t even pay my rent. And I just sent notification to them about possibly working for them in the future.
I just started with swift OTR in the jurupa valley terminal with no experience anyone got any tips or advice to transfer over to local ?
Put in at least 3-6 months of otr then ask your driver leader about transferring over to either Local Intermodal or if they have local positions opened in Jurupa Valley
Tell truth 5 days 80 hours
I average 55-60hrs
@@TruckingwithTorres come on bro you work in So Cal traffic capital world
I'm starting orientation tomorrow I have 2year driving ami going to still need to ride with a mentor its for local
Yes only for like 2 days so they can show you how everything works
@@TruckingwithTorres do I have to do the whole exams and everything because I still have my exam from my last visit in a couple months I have to retake it
@@lisettcrespo281 They’re going to send you to get your medical renewed and drug test thats about it and make sure you do all the videos at home that way you’re not stuck in orientation all day
@@TruckingwithTorres I was trying to do the videos, but it’s not letting me do the videos. It doesn’t give me like a button to to do the videos am I gonna have to say a hotel cause they say I have to set a hotel but I live in the area not in the area, but I live like close by .
How much experience do you need to work at the port?
Damn you all get hourly J.B. hunt is a damn scam and a half then
Thought it was good until I seen cali lol
I used to be ground man for the intermodal yard in San Bernardino , always wondered how much you guys made. Should be way more though !
Where did all your videos go?
how long did it take you to get to local ?? i'm in virginia and would love to run Intermodal.. any advice ??.. Thanks for the content
Swift was requiring at least 6 months of experience prior to joining. I would suggest getting at least 6 months otr experience because local truck driving you can get sent to the worst customers that aren’t meant for 53 foot trailers
Those are not slow checks for a local company driver. You need new politicians.
Do you know if there’s openings? I work out of Jurupa terminal. Please let me know.
Tbh i really dont know but i can give you the managers number to see if they have any open slots
Yes please, I’m the one from instagram
Thanks for the info bro, quick question were you already experienced driver before joining swift? Did u get your training there??
I started with schneider, got my 1 year there and came to swift.
@@TruckingwithTorres ok fs...by any chance do you have any knowledge of how swift training works?? If i wanted to get into local driver, would swift still send me over the road for training??
@@josemanuelorozco1806 Yeah if you have no experience they will forsure start you off otr. You can do probably 3months otr and them talk to your driver leader to try and get you into a local account.
Nice! I just got on with Montebello intermodal with swift i start tomorrow. I got the Tuesday-Saturday shift 4pm-4am. Do you know what other hours they offer since you been in it longer?
You can choose literally any start time you want it just has to be available. We have tues-sat and sun-thursday. Mon-fri are for people 10years plus. I have Tuesdays-sat 2am-2pm I love it
I think the 4pm-4am would be best since traffic starts dying out around 6ish after that it’s smooth sailing lol what hours do you recommend avoiding I like the Tuesday-Saturday tho but I was thinking doing a 4am-4pm if that’s available
@@luissantander6097 Avoid any 5am, 6am 7am 8am 9am 10am 11am 12pm 1pm 2pm 3pm 4pm 5pm 6pm 7pm shifts 🤣
lol dam I took the only one they offered to get my foot in the door 4pm-4am…and the crazy thing is they called me and offered me a position in intermodal
REPENT AND FOLLOW JESUS CHRIST BEFORE ITS TOO LATE 🔴
you need to take your meds
Going to train this month to get my CDL just wondering how hard CDL pre trip inspection is going to be been trying to teach my self as much as I can how much book is there
They supposely xhanged the state testing requirments, but idk what they did since then
I make more at Pepsi
How many day a week do you work for Swift???
I work only 5 days and 2 days off you can work up to 6days if you want too.
Same I get taxed like $500-700 when I make $1888 anything lesss from 1300-1100 I take arounf $892
The types of miles matters. Local driving is usually city traffic and congestion driving or simply stressful and more dangerous. Open road driving is much better, and if you can get dedicated drops and hooks outside of any major cities. What type of driving do you want Regional, otr, or local driving? Negatives and positives to each
All Truckers need to unite stand up for good pay retire dignity take care fam 150k min Sal for class a trucker
Lol good one 😂
Sounds confusing pay me by hour
About 80 k year
Hey bro got a yrs and half experience does swift have any local location in nc ?
Im not sure you can hit up a recruiter or check their online page they may have local positions near you.
$1400 for local, not bad brother
I was supposed to get on the Intermodal account in San Bernardino but a driver retired on the Target account in Rialto and the recruiter asked me if I was interested so I took it since I live in Rialto close to the Target DC. So far so good with swift.
Pretty good company to be in really easy work 👌
Bruh its swift. Just dont go
Thing is when your paycheck is just barely $1,000 every two weeks that pay starts looking real nice especially if you're saying that you get home everyday
weekly pay
Look at the dates that’s weekly bro
What
His not telling the truth about the amount that 1000 is a roll over not weekly
Swift has no local
I just got my cdl thinking about swift but I believe it’s only otr for new drivers the question is if I get the 6 months exp or a year, can you switch to intermodal? of course if there is an opening right.
I have trained people that have gotten in with only 3 months, transfer from otr to intermodal. Forsure they will start you with otr though.
@@TruckingwithTorres awesome thanks for the information. have a good one.
@henrygarcia4279 we run a dedicated route out of fresno wife graduated back in October and I transferred from prime with 1 year experience. You just have to look it's not all OTR for new guys.
Bro I met you at one of DC’s you helped me with my tandem that was stuck. I called your boss but they said couldn’t be from Vegas all local. That’s crazy bro met u now u on to RUclips. Left swift got all my endorsements and went to tanker company.
Did you start otr or local
I started local but with another company then transferred to swift
@@TruckingwithTorres okay thanks also subscribed. Thinking about getting my CDL next spring
I need more information bro I’m going otr for a month with swift, after I’m going solo just California oregon Washington and western Utah. I wouldn’t mind local
Not bad
If you willing to share half your referral bonus with me, I will use your referral to join swift . I recently got my class a Cdl no restrictions. Thank you
For me to get a referral bonus i believe you have to stay for the duration of six months but I’ll share half with you 🙏
@@TruckingwithTorres Do they pay any referral bonus? And if yes, how much? M.
@@schluckowsky I believe its 1000 not sure though
I’ve done rail work, the bad thing about rail work, it is seasoned, when it is slow it is SLOW, this is every year, it’s not worth it
Is the intermodal in San Bernardino the same pay as the one in LA ??
Yes they’re both the same pay
@@TruckingwithTorres nice ! Hopefully i get hired on
@@user-qi5ie3kc6w Nice when did you apply and have they called you yet?
@@TruckingwithTorres yea i spoke with a recruiter and im supposed to get a call today from someone in charge of the intermodal division im based out of San Bernardino but they said they have yards in Fontana something like that
@@user-qi5ie3kc6w Yeah we’re suppose to be moving to the fontana yard by the end of this month we wont be in San bernardino anymore
Trucking used to be something to be proud of. Truck drivers were the Knights of the road. They would help people take care of things and you could always trust them. now. The rest areas and truck stops are littered with garbage. And I see people like you every single day throwing trash in the floor at the bathrooms, Throwing garbage out of their truck windows at the truck stops. throwing water everywhere and being completely Loud and rude To other people trying to get on with their day. So stop bragging about your money or whatever else is in this video. You're one of those people running it for the rest of us..
It’s a job man, and he hasn’t done anything but talk about how much he makes to keep others informed.
@@KharonFL353 Spoken like a typical disrespectful foreigner.
This gross pay or net pay?
net pay
damn for us in Chicago its over 60 miles to get paid for a deadhead
We use to be 45 miles but they brought it down to 35 🙏
I was grossing 2100 a week till ports slowed down tremendously. Home every night
I was going to do ports before doing the railyard but I heard nightmares of how long the wait times can be just to enter and exit the port lol
@@TruckingwithTorres their Union so they do what they want sometimes. I ran out of Houston Ports and I can count the times 1 hand I’ve waited 2-3 hrs. Most of the time the crane’s breakdown. I don’t know about other ports. China not docking ships as much anymore in America.
that's sweet, i'm looking for a fair starter company for a new graduate, would you happen to know what driving options are available to new drivers and also do they have automatic fleet.
Im not sure its all depending on what part of the country you live in and what’s available in your area. Mostly any mega carrier that you join will all have automatic trucks in the fleet. I would suggest just researching every company to see what suits your needs.
OTR makes less than local I was told otr makes more I’m a bit confused.🤷♂️
Local pays more depending on what’re doing. Thats why I left the otr life and decided to go local home everyday and pays good 🙏
Local is livable now. Running OTR and LOCAL is neck to neck now. That’s crazy but do what works for you.
@walkerinmotionllc8618 facts its sad really we out here giving our time and life away while local home everyday making the same ass backwards.. i team drive with my wife we could both go solo we talked about it but the drivers are creepers out here even when im with her in the store they undress her with there eyes so she feels unsafe too go solo for that reason and i have too agree with her.. also she cant pull the release lever too drop the trailer but she can do everything else lol back hook double shes a great driver.. i cant pay all the bills on one income so currently planning my exit strategy so i can retire us both and move on too nee adventures. . We haul for fedex ground for now but im over fedex bs lol..
How many miles are you driving per week to do these numbers?
We dont get paid by the mile we are hourly and by the load, but i drive anywhere from 800-1300 miles a week
Oh but you live in Southern California ok I see now just read the description 👍 thank you man.
700 every check they take out you said? Or every month? Cause 700 taken out is a big difference bruv!! You’d have averaged like 2100/wk.
Its more like 500-600 & thats california for you🤣 when you have no dependents and only claim yourself 🥲
@@TruckingwithTorres no kidding! That’s a ton of money in taxes man and the insurance… hope ur savin money!
@@TruckingwithTorresif it slows down you could drive for a fedex contractor local and get a dedicated route dont have too climb senoirity like other ltl companies and you will make the same as you are now but year round so 1600-2k gross about 1100-1700 net probably im sure you can find a contractor paying 70cpm with benefits.. i hear rl carriers got a nice raise and pays good they have it easy if you have all your endorsements .. but you probably already know all this that ltl is where the money is consistently and tankers.. but now and days everyone paying 80-100k plus so you have options if work gets slow is my point lol..
@@TruckingwithTorresi used too live in California they did tax my checks a ton. Live in Georgia now and keep like over 75% of my check its nice but still not enough lol
How many hours a day do you work in one day? Is it possible for me to get my cdl through swift and only do local and not otr?
Anywhere from 10-12 hrs a day it all depends where I get sent and also depending on traffic throughout the day. They stopped last year for going local for new students in the intermodal division because they were getting into too many accidents so they switched it back to 6 months. TBH it all depends if they really need to fill those local positions asap. Its really hard to land a local position without experience but not impossible
@@TruckingwithTorres I bet lol. The railyards are tight. I wouldn’t recommend someone new getting into it unless they have 6 months of preferably dry van experience. Because with dry can comes various different backing scenarios vs reefer where it’s mainly plants or grocery/food warehouses that are the same. Or flatbed where backing is rare.
There’s a posting in my area how’s the job? Is it consistent that your getting that 5-6 loads a day and for your hours do you get OT after 40?
It all depends on the time you start. I start at 1 am thats why im able to do that many loads throughout the day. & we dont get OT after 40 since we’re on a pay package. I average about 50-55hrs a week. The later you start you most likely wont get many loads since they’ll probably give you live loads and unloads
@@TruckingwithTorres Do they let you work a 6th day?
@@lloydtaylor2550 yes they do
@@TruckingwithTorres the account I might do if I accept it is 37 cpm and 40 load pay they say the drivers are getting 2000-2500 miles a week. Avg $1500-$2000 a week. But with such high miles I doubt I can do 4-6 loads a day. What do you think? I’m not too sure.
@@lloydtaylor2550 remember recruiters say anything just to get you to sign up. In my opinion I have always been against cpm because you really dont know if you’ll get the miles. Also what state is this for I guess every state pays differently. I really dont know what customers they service out there to know if you’ll be getting that many loads for 1 day. I mean it doesnt hurt to try it everyone has a different experience at every company.
