Use the X method to size your fireplace mantle piece and to locate coffee table legs. Create a view to the outside if your window treatment does not include blinds or draperies.

Create more width to the room by making with a few simple adjustments first.

This example will show how to begin detailing your perspective in pencil first, beginning with the light fixture and window treatment at the back of the room.

At 22 minutes you will find out how to map out the required Two Point Perspective Box, on the Floor Plan, Elevation and Grid. Later on you can change the size and position of this box, depending on what you choose to make from it. The other adjustments shown have to do with the Gable, the placement of the light fixture and the addition of the Coffee Table.

DETAILED INSTRUCTIONS Exercise 2

In this demo, a chair is drawn to scale utilizing the previously hand drawn One Point Perspective Grid. How to scale a six foot male figure in the drawing is also shown.

Drawing and sketching to scale can become faster and more accurate with the use of a perspective grid. An equal sided box divided up into 9 half inch increments on all four sides, is placed in the centre of the width of an 11 x 17 inch piece of paper. More space is left below the box ( the back wall of our room) than above it.
