I love Missing Persons Dale Bozzio's vocals. She has those cute squeaks. Terry Bozzio's drumming is fantastic. He drummed for Frank Zappa.

Spooky Tooth in early incarnations. The First CD is Spooky Tooth first LP as themselves. The 2nd CD is the same band recording under another name, ART, titled Supernatural Fairy Tales, which is a psychedelic tinged recording, a precursor to Hapshash LP. I think it was their first LP...then they recorded with the Guy Steven's rock art project album titled Hapshash and the Coloured Coat featuring...

The Catholic Girls on vinyl & CD

I just discovered the Catholic Girls! I remember seeing their debut album cover in record stores, but there were so many other records that I wanted that I skipped over them, without having heard them. Back then there was no internet to stream or listen to samples, so I went with what I knew for the most part. After listening to their first album recently I was blown away, I loved it! I went on...
Canned Heat on vinyl

I've recently rediscovered Canned Heat. I bought their first album back in 1967. I got it because I dug the cover with its orange psychedelic design. I got into its blues groove, but never investigated them any further until now, although I did like the single, "On The Road Again" with its droning east Indian instrument throughout. This month I got their whole catalogue and was amazed by the mu...

SUICIDE COMMANDOS on vinyl

The Suicide Commandos Make A Record...awesome early punk rock, released on the same day as Pere Ubu debut, The Modern Dance. I bought them both the day of release. What a great night I had listening to them both!
The Angels on vinyl
Просмотров 95 месяцев назад
Face To Face LP by the Angels...this song is cool with its Lou Reed bass vibe from "Walk On the Wild Side" & Lou's "Heroin" style arrangement. A slight Dylan in the vocal as well...reminds me a bit of early Mott The Hoople.

This is a cool film. A bit Like the film Crumb. Harvey Pekar is a current beat type comic book writer, kind of like Charles Bukowski. He wrote his real life story into a graphic novel called, American splendor. He is a lovable character well worth checking out.

SEPTEMBER SONGS CD: P J Harvey sings
I recently found the Birthday Party and I rlly wish I had these records they’re all so cool
Hello, awesome vinyl collection! I love Alice Cooper! I have billion dollar babies and is a personal favorite of mine.
Strange movie.
Originally filmed with Lisa Leonard Dalton dancing at MGM backlot 2 in Culver City. Shot in 1975 for Rick Derringer's remake of Hang on Sloopy.
Video was made for the 1975 remake of Hang On Sloopy by Rick Derringer. Don't know why someone would feel it necessary to replace the audio with something unrelated. See the correct video with Lisa Leonard Dalton dancing here ruclips.net/video/Hcw67ao2Vq4/видео.htmlsi=iH-qk3rx4VIpYf_s
I did it! Why did I do it? Because I could! I did not do it because I felt it necessary to replace the audio with something unrelated, I did it because it was fun! Why are you making a big deal out of my having a bit of fun? It is not something totally unrelated as far as I am concerned, it is related in so far as Lisa is dancing to a R & R band, right? Don't you appreciate how her dance moves fit perfectly to the Raiders, Not Your Steppin" stone? A brilliant move on my part, very entertaining and much fun to groove on!. But you seem confused that anyone would dare replace the audio with something unrelated. Well let me say this about that! There are much more serious things to be aware of and cautious of. Issues like Donald Trump changing the words to the national anthem with the so called J6 choir! Like Trump desecrating the American flag with his orange face plastered all over it! Like Trump putting his name on the American flag! Like project 2025 and their planned take over of US through what they call the second American revolution! The perpetrators promise a bloodless revolution if the liberals lie down and let it happen! In other words they are threatening to murder anyone that stands in their way! It is like in that movie Cabaret which charts the origins of Hitler and his Nazi party in Germany at that time. All the German intellectuals thought Hitler was a fool and that his Nazi party would fade away, but as the movie progresses the Nazi party becomes stronger and more dangerous leading to the take over by the 3rd Reich. Now we are seeing history repeat itself with the onset of Donald Trump and his MAGA followers. Project 2025 is the American 3rd Reich! Anyway, I like Paul Revere & the Raiders better than the McCoys, I was not expecting the Spanish inquisition for my creative venture. I might add that I don't see why you would feel it necessary to question my motive for having some fun!
By the way, I have already posted the "correct" video on my channel as well as the one you deem illegitimate! I put "correct" in quotes because your comment is so juvenile. The fact that she is dancing to a different song is a mute point, it is still her dancing! The dance is the main point here. It is so odd that you object to my action here and feel it necessary to question my objectives replacing the audio. Why are you so bothered by that? I would ask you to reflect upon your seeming obsession with Lisa Leonard Dalton's dance. Put my fun and creative action in the proper perspective. Maybe I'll make a video of two deers fighting with a punk rock song as the audio. That could be fun.
Badass
you have been slayed mate" happend to me in the 70,s
You are absolutely right! I rediscovered Slade recently with their splatter vinyl reissues, I love em all! I have em all out on display! Thanks for reply
A totally different music experience. Most interesting.
Yes, for sure. glad you found it interesting.
Funny thing about that album cover. The only two people pictured on the album that play on it are Frank and Terry. The others were in the band at the time of the photoshoot, along with Ray White and Lady Bianca. After Zappa In New York, no Zappa album featured pictures of any other members except for Ike Willis, prominently featured as Thing-Fish.
Interesting, thanks for reply. A musician that played on many Zappa projects that I really admire is Ruth Underwood...
@@grooverealizations Ruth Underwood, Queen of the mallets.
@@_Fake_Rolex Ruth is amazing! She has such a bright personality as well. She is dedicated to the music of Zappa, and one of his true friends. Thanks for comment...
Zappa freakin rocks!
wow.. but why such a baaad audio?
This is late '60's/early '70's technology. Digital was a ways off into the future. Just enjoy it fo what it is.
The bad audio is due to a cheap Walmart phone I use to make videos. I'm not a professional you tuber with expensive equipment, just a guy that loves sharing music and having fun showing my records and CDs. So like @dr.trashfinger suggests, "Just enjoy it for what it is"
@grooverealizations OK, that explains it nicely, too, lol
The Kinks are one of my favorite bands of all time. So many great songs. This is up there with their best.
I agree, another song that is way up there is "A Well Respected Man" I always dug Ray's Lone Ranger sounding vocals. "I'm not like everybody else" was my teenage anthem!
😂😂😂😂
Catholic boys - Warren Cuccurullo - kinda young, kinda wow. Catholic boys - Vinnie Colaiuta - where are they now, did they all take the bow?
Catholic Boy? The Jim Carrol Band debut album is titled Catholic Boy and is a song as well from that same album. Great R & R album by the way if you haven't heard it. Features the song "people That Died" I'm speaking of the Catholic Girls. Their debut album came out in 1980, so they are no longer young. I don't think they are touring or recording at present, but their is a resurgence of their music happening right now with a new CD anthology of selections from all four of their albums called, "Rock N' Roll School Girls. Thanks for comment...
Nice vid wish there were more
I'm glad you liked the Fugazi video. In case you don't already know that Fugazi features the frontman & vocalist from Minor Threat, another great band. Have you ever heard the band Wire. Their debut "Pink Flag" and their 2nd album "Chairs Missing" fit in with the vibe of Fugazi. Thanks for the comment
I noticed you have a mono copy of Paupers- Magic people. What do you think of the sound of the mono pressing? I had a mono copy myself and the sound was very muffled and muddy when compared to the stereo press.
I bought Magic People back in July 1967. I was 16 and my head was swimming with all the far out psychedelic music coming out that year. I bought it because I liked the colorful psychedelic cover with out knowing who the band was or what they sounded like. I was not disappointed. I really dug the songs, "Magic People" "Its Your Mind" and "Think I Care" I was taken by Skip's drumming. It was a mono copy and I played it on my little record player with the plastic handle that squeaked and the felt covered metal turntable that rang like a gong when struck. It had a needle like a little nail that screwed into the arm, with a small speaker, so I didn't know muddy from clear. I've since bought a 2 record set featuring the first two Pauper's albums on edsel records. I'll have to play them side by side now, I am curious. Thanks for comment
@@grooverealizations Thanks for your reply. A nail like stylus? Oh no! Also that mono Paupers is a cut out. Let me guess, 50 cents 😉
@@rockinronist My original Magic People mono copy cost me around $2.69 in July 1967. The copy I showed in the video I bought on Discogs recently for around 7 or 8 dollars. In beautiful condition, NM vinyl / VG+ sleeve. I still have my original copy, but it is a wreck. I keep it as a relic of the psychedelic summer of "67.. It is full of scratches and marks and the cover is ripped, torn and split apart. I played it to death back in the day. I was big into the electric twelve string guitar sound, being a big fan of the Byrds. Eight Miles High blew my mind!
@@rockinronist Back in the 60's, before samples/streaming on computers was available, if a band or record was not played on the radio there was no telling what they sounded like. So I used to buy what I called, "chance records" which were albums I bought because i thought the album art was cool, but had no idea what they sounded like. Two examples are the Velvet Underground Banana album and Zappa's Freak Out. Both albums blew me away! The one I am about to focus on is Hapshash and the Coloured Coat featuring the Human Host and the Heavy Metal Kids...Sundazed calls it a Subterranean Psychedelic Treasure. I was drawn in to its tribal vibe and voodoo ambiance from start to finish. I love it and play it to this day!
@@rockinronist Do you view the Omaha Introvert, channel with Hanna? Well she posted a video not long ago in which she featured post punk Goth...It got me thinking, the first Iron Butterfly album HEAVY may have been the first Goth album. It had those dark baritone vocals with the syrupy thick organ and what sounded like down tuned heavily distorted guitars. It had a dark sound overall in the production. The album cover art was cool, with its blue and yellow...it was another chance album that blew me away!
Where’d you get the cd’s!!!
I got all the PAVEMENT CD'S in store @ Newbury Comics. High quality digipack packaging and great sound. Maybe you can get them on discogs.
LOVE ❤️ This video is the best!
Good song!

Pull Up To The Bumper ! Yes 👍
Have you ever heard of the 4 x lp "Sex Pistols Files"? There were only to be 250 copies pressed?
I've never heard of the 4 x LP. Thanks for comment. Have you ever read the Greil Marcus book, Lipstick Traces? Far out! John Lydon said of it, "It's so mad, it's so daft, it's so of the wall-it's thoroughly enjoyable.
Why wouldn't you download that album and upload it to disc/digital ? It was never re-released to disc or any other form for that matter . Nobody knows how rare this Album is , label lists a popular track on one of the 4 sides but is another track , which in my opinion is superior to the one listed in the first place ..... Best Del Shannon Album Ever .
I'm not sure what your point is. I own the vinyl and it is in NM condition, both media and cover. I prefer the sound of vinyl so why would I upload it to digital? I grew up with Del Shannon hits all on 45's and love that vinyl sound.
Don't get me wrong I totally agree with you I grew up on that album I love it I wish the whole world could enjoy it but they never produced it on disc so my suggestion of uploading it on to digital so the album could be enjoyed by others was an idea so I'm with you 100% it's a beautiful album in every song on there is an excellent tune . Please accept my apology I didn't mean to sound like that
@@grooverealizations and it's really too bad such a beautiful album and the only way I can listen to it in the car is if I get the 8-track
Just why I pursued my Julie.
Wrenching a Wah-Wah guitar solo onto a Doo-Wop number is like jamming the chrome bumper off a '56 Chevy Bel Air straight into you ear. Who else but Zappa...love it
Great observation, I love the visuals, very Zappa like poetics!
This song is like a gateway drug. LH was a maestro
Very nice!!!! Love them Sonics!

45's, man, brings me back, I was 10 in 1970, huge rock fan, the doors were amazing.
Yes, the Doors were a super band, larger than life! Jim Morrison was a legend in his own time. Buying 45's was very exciting, especially the ones in picture sleeves. Thanks for comment
Nigel Goodrich Produced this right after OK Computer. She's a talented actress as well.
She was great in that Lars Van Tiers film, Antichrist! What a strange movie that is, a real nightmare to make David Lynch blush! It says on my CD copy that it was produced by Beck Hanses?
@grooverealizations Sounds like his work .. My memory failed me ! ✅️
Yes great versions on here
Hi nicky. I took a chance on this because I thought the cover art was cool. When I got home and played it , it blew me away it was so good. It is one of my favorite CDs now.
Slowdive do a nice cover 👌.
I'll check it out, thanks!
how much was the colpix?
I bought the colpix album a long time ago, so I don't remember what I paid for it. It wasn't expensive, it was around 3.99, 4.99,under $5. for sure. I bought it used, NM, at Round Again Records in Providence RI.
@@grooverealizations wow! thats actually so cheap it goes for like 50 now in good condition! im planning onto buy a decent turntable for cheap and hoping to get a ronettes vinyl.
@@TQ2355 I bought my copy in the 1980's, I am surprised that it is worth $50. now.

The original Stranglers with Hugh Cornwell, were great. Their first 3 albums were awesome! I saw them live in 1978 at the Rat in Boston. the place was packed like sardines. The Stranglers were breathtaking that night.
dude I played some of the clash songs on a lower speed and it sounded very grunge awesomely. much goodness to you bro thanks for continuing to post this good earr vittles selection

I was trying to think of another punk 7 inch with florescent pink coloured vinyl from the time & couldn't think of one - bands like Dickies & UK Subs & SLF released a fair few colours but I can't recall pink! Poly Styrene was unique in so many ways.
I can't think of another pink punk 7" myself...Polly was cool and the band name is awesome, X-Ray specs is the perfect punk rock band name!
