    Question- when I manually turn on all of my zones individually, my lawn sprinklers turn on and my garden and flower beds do not turn on. Everything worked correctly last year and I can’t figure out what the problem is. Any ideas?

    So the irrigation wires are not "hot" until you plug in the controller? I'm going to change mine out and want to make sure I don't get zapped. I'm not an electrician so just want to be sure😊

    Converting my sprinklers to drip irrigation and wondering if I should go through the trouble of finding a low flow anti siphon valve (haven't had any luck finding them at the stores; only a couple places online seem to carry them) or just go with a regular anti siphon valve. Either way, I will use the 30 psi pressure regulator/filter. Thoughts?

    Thanks for posting but you skipped the most confusing part of the installation which is the wiring. I already know how to hang a box on the wall and thread wires through pipes.

    NOTICE: For anyone watching this do not cover the hole back until you pressure test first and check for leaks. If it turns out you have leaks you will have to dig up your hole again. Check your work first.

    Is this only necessary when installing drip irrigation? I'm installing regular MPR nozzles into Rain Bird 1800 sprays and I seem to be getting a lot of misting. Will a 30 PSI regulator at the valve fix this or will that be too low for all of the sprinkler heads combined?

    • @landscapeprofessionalsnetw721
      @landscapeprofessionalsnetw721 3 года назад

      It’s always necessary when installing drip irrigation unless you already have a crazy low pressure, then you can use a regular wye filter without regulation since it wouldn’t be needed. In your case, you have a couple of options. You can use the pressure regulated filter on the valve for the spray nozzles but you’ll have to remember that spray heads need 30 to work efficiently. If you start with 30 psi at the filter, by the time the water travels through the pipe to the last sprinkler, the pressure will drop due to friction loss and make the sprinklers operate at a lower recommended pressure than what rain bird recommends making them “inefficient”. What I would do is either of the following two methods. Either install a pressure regulator for the entire system to regulate it all together with something like a Watts 70XLDU pressure regulation or install Rain Bird 1804 PRS on every body to individually regulate every single sprinkler head knowing for sure you’re getting 30 psi at every nozzle. Hope this helps

    Now that you've added the pressure/filter inline, can you convert the 1/2" sprinkler connection to drip? Which part would you use to go from a standard 1/2" sprinkler riser to 1/2" poly? I'm converting one sprinkler head to 1/2" poly for drip, and debating putting in an irrigation box with this same pressure/filter combo at the sprinkler head, or doing it at the valve as you show in this video.

    • @landscapeprofessionalsnetw721
      @landscapeprofessionalsnetw721 3 года назад

      Eric B you have a couple of choices on this. You can install a pressure regulating filter like I did on this video and that will filter and regulate the entire zone or you can install an Rain Bird Retro Fit Kit onto a sprinkler head and covert the zone to drip from there. ...... Once you install the filter Iike I did on this video, you can make it convert into drip tubing with a threaded pvc fittings and threading a thread x barb adapter to the pvc fitting. The threaded part will go into the pvc fitting and the barb side will go into the poly pipe or “drip” tubing. Hope this answers your question

      ANAND KUMAR M.P You can add an inline brass pressure regulator at the start of the system. You can also regulate the pressure on the pump.

    really good videos. So easy to understand. Would love to see more on drip irrigation and the parts/techniques to assemble. I've had mixed results with all the pieces and water leaks. Also, more info on how to calculate water pressure and # of emitters etc.. Thx Again

      David Morgan Thank you. I’m glad they’re helping out. A lot of the water leaks tend to come from excessive water pressure or un proper threading. I will go ahead and film some basic videos on drip irrigation and unload them ASAP.

      Landscape Professional's Network you have several videos on your Instagram that I remember. I thought the one about matched precipitation was good. Maybe a more detailed explanation that’s a super common issue. The one you had about relocating the valves and you set up a pull box to move wiring was good also. It was common sense but it’s surprising what you see people do.

      Jvicente 831 thanks bro! To be honest, it’s not always as easy and it’s not always this difficult. There’s some valves that can just be unscrewed through the actuator and the replaced in the master of about 10 minutes.
