Where did negaduck come from?

The fact Disney robbed us of a potential nega duck arc in the ducktales reboot is unforgivable.

Everyone always remembers Negaduck as this Fearsome villain, but he's actually extremely childish and tends to run away a lot. Basically, he may not be Darkwing, but he's still Drake Mallard.

This NegaDuck, from the Negaverse, never unmasked or was referred to as Drake Mallard. In the comics, he said he only ever thought of himself as just NegaDuck and abandoned his former identity. Thus the secret identity becomes the real one. Interesting.
