Good chip and run. Not taught enough.
Great use of 7 wood I have an old big Berther 9 wood and use ion par 4s if I’m in rough on second shot . ... also for chipping on I push the ball to right, what set up for that shoot would you recommend .
Great content miles, that's this month's beer money gone on a new wood.😂
June brings winter to southern Australia. Time to adopt the 'dead arm' approach. Thanks for the video, Miles.
Good advice, Miles & a great sense of humour!
Modern 7 woods are basically the same loft and length of 5 woods from the '70's and '80's. The 5 wood was the do-all utility wood of that era, good from all kinds of lies. You could even use it off the tee if you were wayward with your longer woods. Modern 7 woods do the same job.
Wow! Prefered lies. What ia gentleman's game. My friend makes me play it in a fairway divot with the beaver's tail on top in February
Very nice swing pal.
I’ve gotten my ass kicked by old guys that only use 7 wood
I like to find times when nobody is pressuring the course. I go out and play two balls, a white one and a yellow one. These rounds are for practice. I find practicing on the course is very informative feedback on how I am using / not using good strategy and if I am picking the correct clubs for particular shots. It helps my overall performance when I play with my regular group. The 7W? I love them. I play a 3W, 5W, 7W, 9W, 11W, 8, 9, PW, SW, LW. That is my way of dinking it into the short grass and getting a decent score.
I built a 7, 9 and 11 wood when Callaway came out with them year's ago. Definitely can save you some strokes, just play around with different size shafts and flex until it's a money club.
my Cobra 5/6 W (13.5*)is my go to fairway finder. A great recovery club, great from the rough, and solid 225yd forgiving stick. It's great for shot shaping also.
Bought a demo taylormade stealth 7W, best fairway wood ive used!
I use the Callaway Epic 3,5, and 7 woods. My best move, although there are times I miss my 3 and 4 irons. The more I use the 7, the better I hit the 5 and 3 woods. The lie and distance tell me what wood to hit. Wonderful demonstration with the 7 W!
A 7 wood all the time? You are a golf snob. Who are you speaking to? Bryson or Brooks?
I have been carrying a Ping 7 Wood for about 3 years now. It really is a great club. It will never leave my bag. That being said I do carry several woods. I have a 4, 5, 7, 9 and 11 woods.
You need to teach a character Mauercio Deleon to be a man as his manhood is gone
Great demo mate. Been thinking about adding a 7 wood to the bag. Think I’m sold.
New subscriber…That was fun to watch. Been watching some of your past videos good stuff.
Very kind thanks
I'm 60 years old and have been playing golf for 45 years. When I was a kid I worked as a caddy at a local country club. When we had our "caddy day", (yes it was pretty much like Caddyshack) they had a raffle and I won an old persimmon 7 wood. As I said, that was 45 years ago and I've ALWAYS carried a 7 wood. Call it a cheat club if you like. I also carry what many people call a cheat stick, a chipper. I use what makes the game easier and both a 7 wood and a chipper make the game easier.
Great video. Is there any difference in using a 7 wood vs a hybrid of similar loft?
Massive difference ! 7 wood is a sweeping motion behind the ball, picking up at lowest point in swing Hybrid you get your hands forward and compress with a similar strike to a 4 iron
@@jasonveale8560 think I'll get one. I've always struggled with hybrids, hooking them.
I carry a 7 wood and a 9 wood in my bag, basically because I really never hit long irons very well. I find the 7w and 9w easy to hit well, and they fill the gap for 3i, 4i and 5i. I am a rightie, but I putt left handed with a cross grip. My bag usually has Driver, 5w, 7w 9w, 6i, 7i, 8i 9i PW, SW, 60°W and Putter, which is only 12 clubs, so I also carry a left-handed 6i which can come in handy for the occasional time I end up in the wrong side of a tree.
Your excitement comes through so well. Very infections! New sub well earned.
Thankyou
I thought you were going to putt with the 7 wood. I have driver, 3, 5 and 7 wood. I call my 7 wood the go to club when I want to put the ball in play, the fairway finder. But recently I have been hitting my 5 wood well and in play often. I also find with my 7 wood I tend to hit it and it goes a bit left. I am happy that I got the 7 wood, and now thinking of gettting a 9 wood, but they don't make that for my Mavrik set.
I thought I was about the only one who recognized the real value of these fairway clubs. I have the Ping G430 Max from driver to 9 wood. I can hit that Ping 7 235 yards with incredible height and accuracy , which I'm not able to pull off with an iron equivalent nearly as often. I'm so impressed with the ease of use and versatility. The 5 wood actually has enough distance to cover a 3 wood, but with so much better control. These are truly clubs that help lower scores.
Hi Miles flop shot lesson would be great
I love my Big Bertha 7 wood :-)

7 woods and 9 woods.
Great video.
It seems that 'cheat' is the new code in golf .. and playing gplf with friend is more fun ehh
My 7 wood is pretty awesome but the 9 wood is an absolute weapon. After I get into trouble off the tee, it's a great feeling when I pure a towering baby draw into the green and they mishit irons and wedges, lol.
I don’t have a 7 but do love my 9. I don’t know how I managed so lag without it!
Yeah,a 9 wood is a great toy!!
I’ve been playing the same 7 wood for 20 years , unless it breaks I don’t need a replacement.
Bought a RAM 7 wood for 20 quid about the same time ago. Still use it now .
@@chrisstephens6194they are becoming popular again, 9 woods too! Mine 3,5, 7 are Adam’s redline tightlie titanium’s the hit like a sledgehammer.
Anyone know the loft he's using ??
It’s a 21 degree stealth 2
I’ll try that Miles. Nice one1
Just means you cant hit your irons....
Hitting irons .why would you when woods make it easier it’s called progress mate
What a silly comment! The point of the game is to get the ball in the hole with the least amount of strokes, not hitting a certain club doing it...
Oh does it
I agree with some points, but you need to settle a wee bit. This is the kind of attitude that can put people off starting out. Golf has evolved and golf is for everyone.
So which points did you disagree with? I didn't hear any that weren't simple common sense. No, golf is not for everyone. Golf is not for people who selfishly think they can take as much time as they like because it's 'their turn' and damn everyone else.
@@dbasrus The fact that you have just stated that golf is NOT for everyone, I am already done speaking with you.
What is the difference between the 3 hybrid versus the 7 wood? They both seem to give you the same distance. I have both but I removed my 7 wood in favor of my hybrid. Thanks!
Your right you probably don’t need both similar loft 7wood longer shaft and the obvious head shape. Do what’s right for you 👍
Love Callaway heavenwoods. 7 wood head on a 4 wood shaft.
Great video I think a seven wood can be a game changer
I ❤ my four and five hybrids too much. But I really want to try one.
Helpful video - a lot of good info
Carry Nike ignite 7 wood, it replaces any need for a chipper and rules out the chunk around the greens for the higher handicaps too
used 7 wood ping 425 for quite a few years best club in the bag , struggle off tee at moment as going right. Not so good in the wetter months unless sat up a little . Don’t forget the 9 wood can be just as good .
What is a seven wood? My wife's old set has a 21degree, I used to have a 24 degree and I've seen 27 degrees, all with 7 stamped on the head.
I carry a 5 and 7 wood, both fantastic for long fairway and long par 3 tee shots, and the 7 great out of rough, went back to them as didn't get on with rescue clubs.
Nice ! shot tracer would improve our experience !
I bought a 7 wood about a month ago and love it. It's good for 185m or 200 yards when i hit it well. Use it off the tee or on long approach shots at the green lands with very little rollout, an absolute gem.
Great looks like a good option must give it a try 👍
