I've been watching this a few times every year for the past decade and I still can't stop myself from laughing.

He was absolutely disgusting. It wasn't just nonsense, that way Sacha shows us how we are often indifferent towards racism. You can even see disapproval from Sacha in last few seconds of clip. He (Sacha) even said in one of his interviews that while he was in character he would often hope that someone would stood up against him when he would say inappropriate/racist stuff.

@@bla7849 sounds more like a cop out for being bigoted himself. If you really want to play this game we can but nobody wins it because you can say anything shows indifference to racism including his use of stereotypes in his characters being an incorrect vehicle for discourse that hurts minorities more than helps.

@@Scooterbeerrun i see your point, but I've always viewed Borat as a mockery towards how Americans view people from outside of America, I've never gotten the feeling that he is making fun of people from Kazahstan. Especially because Borat is wildy inaccurate represantation of people from Kazahstan. Borat basically has nothing to do with Kazahstan (couple examples: his shots "from home" where shot in Romania, not in Kazahstan. When he sings his "national anthem" he just sings some provoking silly things that in no way possible could be some countries national anthem, he even sings it on english which makes 0 sense.), thus further pointing out Americans narrow view towards peoples of other countries.

@@bla7849 By what you've said I don't think you do see my point. His method damages relations, it doesn't matter if it accurately portrays Kazakhs or not or if he has other intentions. And by disregarding that as a possibility, clearly by continuing to do so, he is a bigot for not taking it more seriously

@@Scooterbeerrun you are throwing allegations withou explaining how exaclty he does does the things you are accusing him of doing? Everybody that watches that movie knows he is not from Kazahstan.

Here's a twist for you... Nicole Kidman's father was accused of hunting children. He was accused of being part of an elite secret club that released children into the forest and then hunted them for sport. This is true. And a few months after this story came out (maybe 10 years ago) he died suddenly. Again, all true. Maybe an implication you had not imagined!
