No idea about the performance, but I was really impressed with the quality of the exhaust for the price. Everything fit perfectly! Looking forward to getting this one back on the road after more than ten years sitting in the shed
Interesting, my first Commodore ute VR 5.0lt had full headers n exhaust system from redback, 2.5 inch, pipes come under front member into one straight through pipe no muffler. Second Commodore 2000 Olympic ute with V6 was just exhaust system 2.5 inch no mufflers. Both utes i added SS cold air induction, with V6 that all i did in mods, i haven't dyno V6 performance. With V8 i also added chip, enlarge manifold n upgraded brakes to VT with engineered certificate.
🔥🔥🔥🔥
I love VS utes! 👌
@@efxr6538 gotta love the 90’s Aussie cars 🤙🏼
@garage8083 yes! Love the 90s Falcons and Commodores!
Falcons better but righto
Mate H- holding O-out L-limiter D-den E-emptying N-nuts What’s ford stand for F-fingered O-out R-rectum D-drills
would be good if u could show the audiance how you did the primer step by step . thanks
@@racoben4153 thanks for the feedback mate.. I’m terrible at filming everything.. I start working and forget to film 😂
Awesome project I recently found one in HR need a lot of work like yours sym jolie no key or paperwork either wanting to completely overall and modernism like yours thanx for informative video I'm in Melbourne au
Whats wrong with the vt ss rims that are on it?
@@_E3N_ nothing wrong with them. I just want a different look, something that will show more of the brakes that I’ve just detailed!
@@garage8083 yea makes sense you have a nice car
Same rims as my vt thier vt ss rims
Yep, i loved these when they first came out.
@garage8083 same
Hey mate just come across this video I have the car now proud owner unfortunately got defected
@@CodyRyan-x2j hey mate.. I’ve seen you around down south. Sucks about the defect, what was it for? When I had the car there wasn’t much that was wrong with it apart from the height being defectable
@@garage8083 was for the Exessive noise and no muffler and as I got sent to regency I had to take the coils out
@@CodyRyan-x2j Fair enough, but actually didn’t think it was overly load.. I’ve certainly had louder cars in the past..
@@garage8083 yeh I got unlucky I was in the York peninsula in a very quiet town
@@CodyRyan-x2j well despite the defect mate, I hope you enjoy the car I spent a bit of time trying to make sure it was in decent condition. I did a motor swap, all the brakes, wheels tyres, some paint work etc and thought it was a decent car in the end
Just tuned in keep up the great work
Thanks for the mad video. Great little scoot just got a jolie myself Where do you get the mod bits like veriator big bore kit exhaust just started my build and any tips would be great.
@@peterepeat7066 thanks for watching mate. Unfortunately the shop I used to go to has closed so.now I just hunt online for parts etc..Scooter Street has a lot of performance parts for a Jolie or search for dd50 parts
@@garage8083 scooter street is a rip off
Awesome. Some great inspo just picked up a 04 forester to fix up
They’re good cars, easy to work on and plenty of parts available. Have fun fixing yours up 🤙🏼
Where did you buy your grill?
Made it myself by cutting up and old grill and plastic welding in new plastic mesh and then painted it
👏👏👏👏
Lol everythink is not a word :(
Is it NA?
It is mate.. was just built as a cruiser
Nice job man looking good
Thanks bro.. appreciate the comment and support 🤙🏼
how much did you spend on everything if you don't mind me asking? Never done a build but I have a 2004 forester I'd like to some day
I didn’t keep a very good track of what I spent on it. But as a rough estimate I would say I spent about 2k on everything not including buying the car. I got most stuff second hand and did everything myself apart from the exhaust to save money.
Awesome work mate, well done.
Thanks 🙏… really appreciate the support 🤙🏼
I got a vx executive commy its my mum and i wanna fix it up and cant eait
Awesome… get stuck in and make it something to be proud of 🤙🏼
@@garage8083 yea I'm so keep I ask her every day if I can have it so it's not mine yet I gotta get my licence then I can have it but I'm so excited to own it
Looks good man hope the sale went through smoothly and you made a nice buck on it !
Everything looks bloody awesome mate. 😎
Thanks Legend!! Appreciate it !
Hey mate iam doing a vs ute project as well just wondering what you used to fit your 20 inch rims in the front my 20s are hitting the shock struts did you use coilovers?
Awesome.. good luck with your build! Mine has standard struts with pedders springs but 20” rims are only 8” wide and with the offset of them they fit perfectly… I believe you can get some struts that are slimmer specifically to fit bigger rims or coilovers would be the other option
Nice work!!!
Thanks guys.. appreciate the support 🤙🏼
If there is no venturi on the surge pot (The white plastic part on the surge pot where the return connects) you will have issues keeping that surge pot full. There is not enough flow on a return line alone to keep the surge pot full without the venturi effect picking up additional fuel.
I wasn’t sure how it would go without the Venturi but really wasn’t keen to cut open the tank either.. Guess I might have to revisit this or just keep the tank above half full all the time.. such a crap design on these tanks!
Hymaronic balancer might need replacing? I got black VS III Olympic ute, V6 automatic, i fitted cold airduction kit, headers plus 2 1/2 exhaust. Factory LSD. Ute laid up as hose spit off to transmission, i will need new one LOL.
I caught covid last week which has slowed me up a bit.. but managed to get some work done today. Just more maintenance stuff. Ie changing diff oil and fixing up the leaks on the diff.. Can’t wait to feel better to get stuck in again 👍
Sitting nice same height as Mine has 19 inch mags
That’s with one coil taken off the rear lowered springs.. about 1cm lower and Id say it’s perfect.. but it will drop more once it has all the parts fitted so don’t want to cut any more of the springs!
Wicked bro👌
Thanks.. super happy to have it running again
Its been a while since ive seen New heat shields supplied on new leads. Is the exec badge off the dash?
I wasn’t sure if they would be available but my local Supercheap had them on the shelf (with lots of dust) ready to go 🤙🏼 Pretty sure the badge is from the dash (good guess).. before I painted the dash I filled the badge hole in
Thanks for sharing 👍🏼 id love to live in SA with all the great people ive come across
There is a really good car culture in SA.. super helpful and friendly bunch of people!! 👌
Very nice man. I appreciate that you try and sell the old parts after replacing them. Unfortunatly its still very common for people to chuck most bits out, except for maybe the main bolt ons, engine, seats, factory alloy/mags. A lot of valuable bits and bobs, worthless for someones upgrading a complete assembly for example, but that could keep my VR in existance
Gotta try and keep the cars alive and all the old parts help.. that saying someone’s trash is someone else’s treasure is right on 👌
Are you going to do a video of how to mask up and do the rest of the car?
Can do!! I skipped the taping up on this video to try and make sure it wasn’t too long.. but can do that when we paint the rest of the underbelly 🤙🏼
Tune in to see the Utes underbelly be transformed
I am a car(machine)
L67 had one don't waste you money mate can spend a lot of money for a lot nothing special
I recall driving an l67 Monaro years ago and being really disappointed with the performance too.. so ended up buying a wrx.. I think I’ll just make this car look decent for cruising.. and if I decide to upgrade I’ll look at options such as a Barra or an LS etc
I am running chop springs in back of my vs ute
Apart from my wife’s car and a wrx I’ve had I’ve always run chopped springs and never had an issue (apart from some defects for too low)… can’t beat being able to lower a car for the cost of a cutting disc 😂
Good ones go for 30+ in nz
That’s crazy… I would have thoughts 15k - 20k max…
i picked up my old xd with a 355 in it for only 13 grand 🤣
Based on this you could resell yours for a million dollars 👌
Just saw that and was my exact thoughts Surely he meant 4000
If it’s not a typo it’s seriously craazy.. and if it sells I’m about to start buying a whole heap of xf’s 😂
Yea rito go find one if ya can no ,1 bading
When theyre dropped low the ride is total trash hitting bumpstops...even with shortened shocks and sftermarket bummpdtops. Good trick is remove ute bumpstop bracket and put in rubber bumpstops from sedan as chassis rails still slot in them for it. Fairly sure wagons are like that.
Thanks mate… wasn’t exactly sure what I was going to do with the bump stops but I had heard you can swap for sedan/wagon ones etc.. so will likely do this🤙🏼
@garage8083 yeah mine is sacked hard barely got 50mm of travel before it taps metal bracket. Not yet found time to do mine yet.
@@ShaunDavis-jl6fr I have looked at bagging this car too.. but without some chassis mods I wont be able to get it as low as I would ideally like.. So will more than likely end up just on low springs and some cut down bump stops.
Keep the good work going
Thanks Buddy.. appreciate the encouragement!
JESUS, let's talk about the pipe on it!?!?!? How many feet past the tailgate is it? :D
Haha… only a couple of feet 😂… certainly won’t keep it like that
Football, meatpie, kangeroo and Holden car.
What 93 vr 5ltr manual?
Close 95 VS.. manual v6 (currently) but a conversation is on the cards
Vs v6 ute
Nice!! Exactly the same as my other build at the moment.. what have you got planned for yours?
Love the build super clean, but can i just ask how come you got a bonnet scoop? was it purely for looks or was there a future plan to make it turbo? just curious
Thanks mate.. The bonnet that the car came with had a few dents and I found this one at a good price so decided to swap it over. I had a passing thought about doing a turbo conversion but never seriously considered it so the bonnet was more about just the look.
Not a fan of the colour myself, reminds me of a car painted in primer.
That might be why I like it.. reminds me of hours of paint prep.. but at least this primer is shiny 😝
Yes
Awesome.. thanks appreciate it 🤙🏼
I just put a set on my vs Ute ssv 19 inch
Nice choice!! They look good on a VG, VR or VS
