24:59 he opened the hotline
Dude sounds like Alan Wake
That’s his voice actor
5:55 neighbor of the beast is a Max Payne 1 reference! Leave it to remedy 👏
Why Im hearing alan wake
5:53 What is it with Sam Lake having “The neighbor of the beast” being a code in his games? In fact…why does Sam Lake always have satanic references in his games? …I’m really concerned about him.

It wasn't until just now that I realized that Darling's (and the lab assistants) lab coats have metal hooks on the shoulders?! I never see anything hung on them, but I always thought they were loose threads or something, going along with his natural charm of being a scatterbrained genius or w/e. Also, apparently Dr. Darling was fucking YOKED.
Your answer is at 13:58
heavy LOST' Dharma Initiative vibes :)
"Something wonderful i think" Gets sent to the dark place... I really hope he returns and was kinde parked in the dark place by hedron for "safe" keeping
I just beat the game, but never played Alan Wake. All I know is what I learned in Control. Should I jump in?
Its even better if you play them in chronologal order. You can just see Darlings slow descent into insanity.
Slightly better title, 27 minutes of pure Darling! 🤗
love him
I love this stuff
Dr casper Darling is basically the dr jack bright of the FBC. I wonder how much Sam Lake was inspired by the SCP foundation. I know the difference between the SCP foundation. The foundation is a secret organization. And the FBC is a government organization thats more public and people know about. The board is like the 05 council. But the board are not human like the 05 council. And the altared items being like the SCPs except it seems altered items are just items and not humans. Atlared items are usually related with humans. And the directors as well. Anyway this idea is amazing for sam lake. I don't care if sam lake stole it. Its called inspiration and i respect it.
Me coming here mid AW 2 to remember all the correct terms used by FBC and then Darling mentioned 665 at 5:52 which is a code I JUST USED in AW2!!! The tie ins to these games is incredible 😂
You could have played these in better order so the story made more sense.
HE'S SO CUTE WTF 😭💀
Oh my god that’s Alan Wake
I always wondered how the hack do they remember every single word of the script they're acting. In his case the script is aready intricated itself and difficult to remember and act, but he manages to act perfectly. It's like studying nursery rhyme for school exams
Nothing stopping the power of cue cards.
The sets remind me of wes anderson movies lol
23:13 Wow, didn't know doctor Darling has a good body build like that..at age 53
Dr. Darling my beloved
Duuuuuuude, why did you keep the hud up on the most interesting one?
Fun fact: Dr. Darling is also the voice of Alan Wake!
I played Control before any of the Alan Wake games so when I learned that Matt was also the voice for Alan Wake it blew my god damn mind.
Alan Wake: Hold on a goddamn minute-
I was definitely not expecting the music video. Great stuff, thanks for posting
he's so fucking hot
REALLLLL
yesss
💀
I love the Dharma Initiative feeling of these videos.
I want him to narrate all the wikipedia pages
Including scp wiki? Edit:Its a joke
Probablemente el personaje más bien interpretado y con más carisma de la historia de los videojuegos.. Dr. Darling ❤❤❤
i miss him so much i hope hes alive and well thotting it up in the astral plane 😩😩
Spoilers He’s in the dark place and he’s spoken to Tom zane so he’s still alive

Interesting use of emojis
You know i'm genuinely impressed that despite mostly being a VA, Matthew Poretta actually did a fantastic job with these small vignettes.
For anyone curious, the tone for Dr. Darling's video intros is G A B on the xylophone, I think. It's garbled though because it's old media.
when he puts up his hands and imitates devil horns, I LOSE it every single damn time
19:35 maybe Trench's 'ears bled' because he was already contaminated by the Hiss? Not sure if the timeline matches.
anyone know one of these vids without subtitles?
Man, he's really good at portraying a mental image of what it's like living in an environment that is filled with supernatural phenomenons. He should become a writer, perhaps thriller
Please someone help me! I have the biggest crush on Dr. Darling! How could anyone resist him?!
All i hear is Alan
played Control for the first time and since that Gaming Awards Act, i finally understood who he really is. Thats what you get, when you NOT play it in english first xD
There is an alan wake easter egg in the game
@peeperinos I know, I'm just commenting that since Darling and Wake share a voice actor, it's hard to not hear him when Darling speaks
Damn! Dude is Jacked! 😭
Blackrock could be the metaversal Bedrock, the absolute 0 state of all realities that forms the "floor" of everything.
All I can hear Alan Wake talking
When first starting this game I had a theory that Darling was the bad guy. I thought he released the Hiss. Getting through the rest of the game, you realize he has real concern for his fellow workers and the world itself and would do anything to keep the world alive. Without Darling pressing into the madness, the world would have lost to the Hiss imo.
Why am I rewatching this after playing the game a year ago? Why is this so weirdly wholesome and sweet …. and weird
Protect this wonderful man and may his character live on for a very long time.
5:44 the code that he mentions is also the code used for the door in the first Dark Place level in Alan Wake 2... its also where we see a book by casper darling on one of the rooms... just thought id put that out there
That's insane, that they planned stuff like that so far ahead
I loved seeing that in game. I'm pretty sure 665 is a recurring motif in Remedy's other games like Max Payne
@@superwhizz114 Yeah i recently played through the rest of Alan Wake 2 and max payne… a few of many things that make remedy an amazing company
@@Skulka Cant wait for us to look back at Alan Wake 2 after playing a new game in the future and think "THEY HAD THIS PLANNED SINCE THIS TOO???"
Dr Darling also appears on the TV screen for a split-second during the cutscene that occurs inside room 665 at the Oceanview hotel.
Considering how robotic the dialogue is with most characters in this game I instantly fell in love with Darling and couldn't wait to learn more about him. Eventually I figured since he seemed to know so much that maybe I'd even come across him around the end of the story, but the closer I got and the more I saw I began to realize that this guy was probably dead or maybe worse got caught up in an experiment or an anomaly and wasn't around anymore, and then that realization fully set in with the Final Message tape. And then all that dread disappeared after I watched dynamite and felt like I lost my mind lmfao.
