The classic Rimworld question of: "Am I a bad person for considering stuffing a shard of dark archotech into a child's chest and turning her into an undead abomination?" The answer, of course, is yes... because it would be a waste not to harvest some organs first, since ghouls regenerate. I'm not 100% sure but I'm pretty sure the size differences that make younger pawns harder to hit still apply to ghouls as well, which is another bonus. I'm currently testing some interactions with Biotech to see if it's possible to breed a bunch of kids, implant them with xenogerms that increase their melee, stick them in growth vats, and create an endless amount of ghouls with them. Will update with the results if I remember.

My kenku demon named bread loaf

I loved playing a kenku! His name was Twang but it was the sound of a bow firing and somehow he ran a tavern. My favorite part was basically getting to talk like bumblebee

Playing a kenku bard was one of the best campaigns ive ever played. Basically became a god using politics to get evey npc in the first town to worship me to then become leader and getting them to fight the bbeg as a meat shield. Fucking hell. It was so stupid that the dm just went with it

Kenkus are the best! I played a Kenku rogue who had a pet mouse (urchin background) and often imitated his squeaks. It earned him the name Mouse. He was made to use his forgery skills to create fake art to sell by a no-good shopkeeper. He grew up doing this until the shopkeeper got caught and blamed Mouse, resulting in Mouse being on the run from the law. I looooved playing him!

I don't know why I've never played one of these. It sounds like everywhere I wanna be.

I like to play Kenkus, but I like to say "My character does/mimics this in order to say (INSERT MESSAGE HERE)." That has all the fun of the Kenku, while letting me not have to play sounds and mime actions IRL.

the reason for this is probably because you can only do so much even if you have a vast set of tools before you, likely also due in part to the creativity problems that come with such thing like creating an entire character. I very recently started to play dnd or any table top roleplaying game for that matter and the most tine consuming part was understanding how and creating our cherecters tho most of us were new comers including the dm but it was still a lot of fun once we got going I had played once before that but the dm was really wierd and wouldnt let me play strategicaly and made me get "completly into cherecter" which I wasnt ready for.

That is how I get my inspiration flowing for new homebrew classes! What could the class be that has "Gem of _" as their subclass intro "Gem of _" for a class that pulls their power out of a magical artifact; like the princesses in She-Ra... "Lantern of _" for the different heroes in DC, like green lantern. "_ Bond" for a soulbound class. Martial companion class. The bond is for the type of companion. And existing classes could be united under a common term. If fighter subclasses are an established thing in your world, why not call them "Banner of the Echo Knight", "Banner of the Battle Master", "Banner of the Champion" yknow? Ranger, Artificer, Rogue, Warlock, Sorcerer, Mystic, Fighter, and Cleric don't follow this similarity in subclasses, but still go in the same direction with their subclasses.. So instead, you could also lay down a few ideas... and patch those together into a class "Chains" / "Aether" / "Runes" for a half-caster that pulls its strength from a group of spells... I'd call it the Warden class. Fortresses like Paladins, But fighting not with swords and smites... but instead hammers and mauls, occasionally infused with spells If it's built less bulky, you could add a "phase" subclass that then works like sirens from borderlands.. "Gold" / "Platinum" / "Green" for a draconic class. The one true draconic class, from which all other classes earned their subclasses idk.. just mind concepts

I played an Oath of Vengeance dragonborn paladin whose whole deal was that in grade school another kid told him he would never be a real dragon. Now his life's mission was to prove that kid wrong.

Ok but consider: if Mean Girls was a D&D campaign, is the Burn Book not just the byproduct of Regina George’s oath of vengeance?

One char I did was a "ronin paladin" - he was an otherwise standard-issue paladin, but not sworn/beholden to any one deity. He courted favor from a bunch of deities, earned the hatred of a bunch of other deities, and his magic was basically a case of seeing which deity would be interested in helping him at the time. Downside: LOTS of rolls on every cast because he had to success-throw on praying to individual deities in mid-combat. Upside: a pretty vast array of powers and abilities, assuming the dice were his friend during that session. He was on good terms with half a pantheon and on the hit list for the other half, and in one campaign (with a _very_ lenient "rule of cool" DM) ended up touching off a great war between gods that ended up wiping out most of a game's world.
