What happened was you said oh we haven’t had a frost 😂😂, I call it poking the bear and my husband does it all the time. We haven’t had a frost per se it wow we got rain and wind today it was brutal. Stay safe keep, positive ❤, Ali 💨💨☔️☔️🇨🇦
Haha, that's exactly it!!
I've always heard to water up to the first frost.
It's that time but it's still amazing how much still looks good!
Thank you! I have so much cleaning up to do still, but I don't want to overdo it and bother the bugs. Hopefully I can find a good balance.
Just WOW about your cup-and-saucer vines!
I know, I'm so happy that they will last a little longer!
Hi Laura, We got our first hard frost here in RI too! I was thinking the same thing about watering or not! … Yes, you are making sense! … I want to start a lot of flowers by seed this winter. Maybe you can do a video when it is time to start the seeds. I do not have a greenhouse. I was just going to start them in the house. I see how many fabulous plants you have from Baker’s Creek! I am like you. I look for clearance plants as well! … Stay Toasty by your fireplace! I have mine on now! Chilly! 😊
Hi Robin! Believe it or not, I am already starting to think about seed starting for next year! Specifically I am thinking about starting pansies super early this year, like later this month. I find that they tend to stunt during their seedling stage, so I'd like to give myself some time to work with them. The rest I will probably wait until January or so. But I will definitely be making videos about it for sure. It's the next thing on my mind after fall cleanup. I'm glad to hear you're staying warm for now, looks like it will be warming up a little this week. Happy November!
You’re in a tank top 😮, it’s cold wet and yeah cold 😂😂. Glad you had a fabulous Halloween 🎃, Ali ☔️☔️🇨🇦
Oh no, sorry to hear it's not so nice up north! I hope you are having a nice start to November otherwise!
We have not had a hard freeze in Wisconsin but 31 degrees tonight. Finally got a lot of much needed rain a couple of days ago and will have several rainy days coming up. I'll try to send some over 😘💦
Thanks! This weekend looks questionable overnight, so we may be getting a frost but fingers crossed!
I can't get over the cup-and-saucer vines - so cool!
I know, right!?
Thanks for the video. We are so happy about anything blooming this time of year
We sure are! Thanks for watching!
Hi Laura, Love the Fall garden! Don’t you?!…We have a ton of leaves too. The leaf mulcher is a great find! …Happy Halloween! Boy is it warm!! Nice to see you! 😊
I do love it, it is for sure my favorite time of year in the garden, I just love the aged look of everything. Happy Halloween to you, it's gonna be a hot one!!
I live 45 minutes from this great market. Love it!
Awesome! That's about how far we are, but this was our first time. Now that I've gone once, I'll definitely be going again in the future!
Looking great! Saving and mulching your leaves is an excellent plan. (I loved my small leaf mulcher but it broke and I replaced it with a larger, much heavier one that I don't like using...)
I really like it so far! It is heavy, but I'm only doing small sections at a time. I need more arm strength!
@@thepurplepumpkinpatch (I used to sit down while wielding the unwieldy thing!) Question: Have you mentioned blue spice basil as a good critter deterrent? I think I saw it in your garden at some point this season...
Yes, I am going to talk about it in my next video! It's still blooming and the bees are loving it. I like to plant it around my pumpkin sprouts to try to keep the critters away. It has a really strong scent that they don't love.
it is possible to prepare a leaf soil. try to find how to do it online
Thank you, I will look into it! We have sooo many!
Amazing to see so much still looking good, nice!
Thanks! It is, hopefully it lasts a bit longer!
The weather is crazy. We also didn't have our first frost yet. It's so nice that there is still so much blooming in the garden.
It sure is crazy! I'm loving these late season blooms, though.
You still have a lot of color in the yard 🤩 Thanks for sharing the event you went to, so cute 😍
😊Thanks for watching!!
It is indeed clean up time- I am also busy cleaning the garden and preparing the soil for next year♦
Feels like there's so much to do! I'm relieved to have time to get it done though!
Fountain needs NO cleaning.
Hi Laura, Beautiful light in your gardens! … Love your Scary Scarecrow!!! What a fantastic job! You are very talented and creative!!!
Thanks Robin! We have been having some beautiful mornings lately. Even some northern lights sightings! Such a pretty time of year.
Harold turned out awesome!!
Thank you! I have to get used to him, I keep thinking he's a person when I look out the window!
Your garden is awesome Laura and the kids in the neighborhood must love it almost as much as you. 😂😂 it’s 5c here but stopped raining, Ali 🎃🎃🇨🇦
Hi Ali! Thank you, I hope you have a great Halloween!!
He looks great to me!I might be the grinch for Halloween lol
Thanks! The Grinch would be such a great costume! Perfect to transition into Christmas season too.
Awesome!!!
Thanks!!
Nice Halloween decorations!♦
Thank you!
Your daughter's amazing!!!
Thank you, she sure is!
Everyone starts to collect sometime. I started over 60 years ago when I was 12 years old. It is a fun hobby no matter what you collect.
I want to build a greenhouse! I'm in the same zone as you are.
So glad you talked more about your cup and saucer vine; loved seeing the different stages of the flowers, but mostly, it is breathtaking on the moon trellis. Good luck on growing it again! (I wonder if you can take a cutting and grow it on during the winter...)
I'm also watching the weather report constantly to be prepared to harvest the peppers 🌶 before the first frost.
I hear you! Our keeps getting colder, Brrr!!
Everything still looks so green Laura 🎃🧡, it is cooler here and it is raining right now. Hope your safe and the weather isn’t coming your way, Ali 🌞☔️☔️🇨🇦
Hi Ali! It looks like we have some cold weather on the way next week, but at least we aren't in the path of the hurricanes. I feel so bad for those people. Hope you are doing well up north!
❤
The cup and saucer vine is interesting, never heard of anything being pollinated by bats! Could luck with that! 🦇🦇🦇
Right?! Very strange. But I love that vine so much!
I love my rose of Sharon
Great! They are beautiful, but I would only buy a sterile one. The ones on our property line belong to my neighbor.
I've always ignored ageratum but I realize I am missing out! It's great that they self-sow; it will save you room in your greenhouse this winter! And I have fallen in love with the Sirius Blue salvia - I adore salvias - and will definitely start some this spring. Is your cup and saucer vine on the moon arbor planted in part shade, full sun, or what? How early did you start it? Your gardens look great, with lots of interest this time of year, which takes work to achieve. Looking forward to seeing how your rock garden grows next spring...
Thanks so much! The cup and saucer is in pretty much full sun, it's right on the cusp on full sun/part shade. I have been reading up a bit on it lately because I wanted to save seed from it, but apparently that is not going to be so easy! I got the 2 that I have as starts from Select Seeds. I am so in love with them, though, I am about to order seeds for spring from them. It will be interesting to see if I can do as well with them from seed, fingers crossed. Thank you for your support, I love the garden in fall. I only wish I got to spend more time there, I get so busy this time of year. Happy Fall!
@@thepurplepumpkinpatch I planted cup and saucer vine seeds on February 28; only 1 of 5 sprouted and it has really languished in a very large pot... I'm thinking of starting some in December this year.
@@sassafrasinspired2029 I heard they can be tricky to start from seed. I say December sounds good, I love starting things super early!
The combination of the pink hydrangeas, the Autumn Joy and the lavenders is quite striking. I also really like the sedums and the ageratum together. That is quite a stand of Sirius (sp?) blue salvias in the front; how many did you plant?
Thank you! The Sirius blue salvia I started from seed last year so I was able to save seed and start more this year. They are marked as a "tender perennial" so I wasn't sure if they would come back. I planted probably 25 last year and about 10 came back. I probably planted another 25 or so from seed this year in a few different spots in the garden. They are very easy to save seed from so next year maybe I'll have even more! I really love the color, and the blooms last soooooo long.
Great tour, tfs!
Thank you for watching!
Congrats on tipping over 1K subscribbers 😜 You are very creative 😉
Thank you so much!
Everything looking good - love the chocolate cosmos! Will have to get seed for next year! Beautiful
Thanks! Yes, they are so pretty. I really need to start my seed saving on a bunch of things!
😂😂 happy spooky season 👻🕷️🎃🍂🍂, Ali 🌞🥶🇨🇦
To you too Ali!!
I just love watching your artistry & excitement!❤
Thank you so much!!
My 20 year old twins and I went this fall ❤ they can not wait to go back .
How fun! I think I'd like to try the May show next time, July just sounds tooooo hot!
Very cool. Where did you find the ghost? By the way I think working with Clay is something you should do more. You're a natural. 👻💀🎃
Thank you! I hope to. I'd love to try some sculpey-style projects too! I was trying to remember where I got the ghost because it was early in the season, and I am pretty sure I got it from Joann's. They also sold the same one at Burlington. Thanks for watching!!
Awesome Laura 👻, Ali 🌞☔️🇨🇦
Thanks Ali!!
Love it!
Thank you!
Turned out awesome!
Thanks!!
That turned out great
Thank you!
Looks great! Hubby/I introduced our 3 grandchildren to Scream this past summer, 13, 12 & 10. We watched them all over the 2 weeks we had them. Our granddaughter 10, didn't care for it but the boys ❤ it!
Awesome! It's a great intro to horror franchise, so much fun!
WOW!!! The ghost turned out perfectly. You did a mighty fine job with making it look like the scream movie. You turned it into a masterpiece 👻 Thank You for the tutorial 🙂
Thank you so much, that's so nice of you to say. I love him too!
