Great find. Looking forward to the restoration. Check the ABS pump as well, on my E39 the ABS pump caused gearbox malfunctions.

That full Valet made a huge difference!!
That was a quick stunt with the Audi and it cleaned up nicely. New owner is going yo enjoy it. I am excited for the new project coming and what is the latest on the Xtrail?
Yeah cleaned up very nice and drives well! Nothing on the Xtrail. Sold it to my brother in law and he is loving it!
I am watching and already excited for the next episode on this car. Motor sounds happy after the sump service and oil pump replacement. So this will be thr new daily as it be getting rooflining, some sound install and new wheels sorted? I am sure after valet it will look 203% better. I am always amazed that you are never afraid of these high mileage cars. Its a lot of car for the little money.
Yeah im enjoying it! New wheels and sound will be in the next vid! The valet made a big difference, but they didnt do a great job with the valet to be honest Luckily the motor was replaced in 2020 but even with the mileage, the body is in very good condition!

Nice video. How did you diagnose the oil pump issue?
Ended up taking it to my mechanic. When he stripped the sump he said that we whould start at the source if low pressure, and thats the pump

Hi Rion I own a seat altea 2.0 fsi 2006 model so the engine is exactly the same the problems I have is power steering (it's a bit hard to turn at times) as weird as it might sound but on a gravel road the steering is much lighter. Also central locking and electric mirrors are not working anymore because some idiot fiddled with the fuses so I don't know which fuse goes where
Might be your powersteering pump. I would suggest getting that checked out first
@@rionsteenekamp6481 Ja I figured that much because after months of searching I finally found that power steering plug, cleaned it nicely so I'll have a look at the pump when I get home. Thanks man 👍
I am always excited to get a notification of a new upload and this year i have to meet you at some point. Brian really does good job on rooflining and i need to get mine sorted when budget allows. I am always amazed that you are not afraid of these high mileage cars that need some love and make for awesome daily's. Question: What budget range do you usually buy these cars and also what rough budget do put aside for maintenance. This Passat needed some work, Warren did awesome job and i am sure the car drives very niicely plus the AC is sorted. Amazing what a tint, rooflining and wheels refresh can do to a car. 👌
Thanks man. Yeah we will meet up at some point. Like I said before, if cars are maintained then its worth it. This one wasnt maintained hence the motor noise. My budget was like R30k for this project, but ended up spending about R45k...

Yeah was just a valve under the car. Unfortunately the side exit exhaust has been removed.

Nice that would be my old car, only it was a 1.9TDi 131bhp one. Absolutely solid car, had it for about 10 years with very minor repairs. Sadly my new car cant hold a candle to it in terms of reliability.
