Thanks for the instructions.
Loved this helpful video. Thank you!
Kathy I enjoyed this video very much. Do you know what foot the singer 99 takes. I asked sew steady and they didn’t know
I find even on modern machines tacks are so close to the stitch area with some templates that the pin gets hung up on the foot.
I place an flat square eraser behind my fabric so that I can lay the fabric flat and push the tack straight down.
Now I have to get the hearts absolutely loved this especially the border designs
Oops. A couple hours late.
Goodmof ingredients. already on my list
I have been practicing with this template and I am not meeting perfectly in the middle where my needle started. Any tips for that?
Great reminder for precision piecing!
Helloooooo😂
Love the Three Bears analogy 😊
78 F is 25.5 C Sorry for not replying earlier.
For the one with the gate - you can leave the gate out and just turn it over for the other side.
Sorry to have missed the live but catching you now. I was trying to beat the heat outside but lost in the effort. 🥵
Thanks really like the designs you came up with
Sorry to have missed the live! Gotta catch up!
Hi kathy
So glad I found this tidbit. I wanted a refresh on how you folder the material before cutting. Saved me going back to previous video. Getting ready to cut my strips today
Awesome! So happy that it came in handy today. Let me know if you need anything else. :)
I can’t remember who but one of the Sew Steady teachers uses soluble thread in her practice blocks. When she is finished she just wets the thread and it disappears, leaving a new blank block.
😅Colorado here ok
You are an awesome instructor!
Thank you Tina. I appreciate your kind comment.
I enjoyed this and looking forward to Tuesday’s. Will you tell us what brand of templates you are using
So glad I was able to replay to watch, I had to leave last Wednesday after the introduction. Can't wait until tomorrow for your presentation!
Thank you, Kathy. I really enjoyed this. Looking forward to Tuesday. 🙂
Hi Kathy, thank you for this video. I spent most the morning looking for a video on this subject. I found nothing. I stumbled across your video this evening. ThanK you. Regina
👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks again Kathy. Your seams are so perfect! I may bust out my bottle of glue baste.
Thanks Kathy
You are welcome Judy, I appreciate you watching. :)
New subscriber here. I think I have found my twin sister! I also use a Singer 301 and am just beginning to learn to use a Westalee foot and templates. This is exactly the help I have been looking for! Currently I am using these tools to quilt a large throw and am very much struggling with it. You remind me that it can be a relaxing and enjoyable experience. Probably this quilt as you go process would be a better way for me to begin. Thank you and looking forward to seeing how you put these blocks together!
Thank you Cindy, I appreciate your comments and hope to continue to produce valuable content for quilters. The Singer 301's are the best, aren't they? This machine was my husbands until he asked me to try it. I never gave it back and he had to find a different one. These machines are the perfect machine for free motion and ruler work. Please feel free to check out my classes (some free) at Sew Steady University. I will be doing a new class early in 2024. :) Thank you again.
This is my first time watching your videos. I really enjoy the slower pace and thorough explanations. As a beginner quilter I appreciate this very much. Subscribed and look forward to more videos of yours popping up in my feed!
Thank you. I appreciate your kind words and hope to continue.
☺️👌👏👏👏👏💜
Thank you again, can't wait to see the finished quilt!
I'll be patiently waiting for the next video. Thanks Kathy!
It is uploading now.
I love this design. I may try to incorporate it into an upcoming quilt.
Thank you Betsy.
Thanks Kathy, what a cute duffle! Great quick gift idea!
I know you would just love how easy this little duffle is. Getting the pattern is so worth it.
Love this! Thank you! Have these & never would have thought of this design. Could you use the 12 in arc to make the peak vs the 36 template?
Yes you can!
Love this idea - I have the Inktense pencils uand used them on a project a few years back but very lightly. Your video has inspired me to explore more. Thank you for your great instruction and showing all the different blocks and colour designs . It is another option to Templee quilting! I agree that the colouring-in process is relaxing. I often draw out my Templee block on paper and colour it in to me decide what to cut away
Glad it was helpful! The pencils are great.
Please tell me where I can get the pencils and the medium!
You can purchase both at a local art supply store or Amazon.
I love your work thanks for sharing. God bless you and your family. I’m sure going to catch up on your videos.
I appreciate that
Beautiful block I love them. God bless you and your family.
I’m new to your channel I want to learn how to use rules on my quilts. I think I have every rule set they have out there. But I don’t think I have the one you’re using. Thank you for sharing your time with us God bless you and your family.
I have go to sew steady i can't see were to order.
Under the Products drop down menu, click Quilting Templates and you will be brought to all the templates and rulers. You can also search for a particular template, you will be brought to the appropriate page. Just add the item to your cart and checkout.
Kathy you still not answer my question please thank
I apologize for taking too long to get back to you.
Very interesting and informative, thanks 😊
I just found this site today so I’ve been binge watching!
Wow, thank you so much.
Why not cut your threads before you start the second or third rotation? Surely this would be better than having to hold the template after you have started.?
Normally I would bury the threads. For the sake of timing when video taping, I tend to let them hang out until the end.
Great tip about trimming the blocks after quilting, thanks
You are not boring to watch you doing all the rotations!
What is the name of the gadget you use to mark your fabric, thanks
Hi Chris, I use an 8 point cross hair ruler and a Frixion erasable pen. Just remember to put a couple layers of Best Press so that there is less chance of leaving ghost shadows. If you do get them, no worries, just spritz some water on and iron dry.
Thank you for answering my question, much love 💕
