I’m free!!!! Sorry I missed seeing those shitty films and being on the panel
All good Mox. I'm happy to hear you're doing better :)
Willem DeFriend 😂😂
Will is a comedic genius and great at playing Trump. :)
so random dude xD
🤮🤮🤮
I don't get it
AaaaHHHHHHH, MY FACE IS MELTING!!!!
💀💀💀💀💀
Yes, easily. The best laugh for Sure.
Yes he is the best joker
The original Joker was played by Jack Nicholson.
Billy Baldwin was filming ⚰️
😂😂 Keep up the great work!!
@@chris7574 thanks Chris!
Wait, I think I like Volcano. 😅LMAO, the Trump impersonator. 😆
Glad you like him. He will probably be on a few future episodes. I like Volcano too. For all of the wrong reasons ;)
The top 10 list almost makes me want to watch Easy Rider 2 just to see how bad it is.
It's a hard movie to get your hands on. Just an FYI. Good luck! Thanks for showing up!
I do not recommend watching it. Really. Like watch anything else
He's the only live action Joker that's actually FUNNY
I really hope that James Gunn makes the joker funny again. Fingers crossed!
Hell no! That title belongs to heath
Heresy!!! ;)
@@MaxZed1101truth be told there would be no heath joker if Jack Nicholson didn’t do joker
@@kaybryant5099 I think he played a big role in us getting the animated series version of the joker too. I think Heath is great in his own way, but Jack is king to me!
@@MaxZed1101 same
He’s the definitive LIVE ACTION Joker, yes!!!
He's great! I think the 1989 Batman is a go-to for me because Jack, Tim Burton, and the writers did such a good job together!
Joe still thinks it's the 80s. 😅
Glad you got a kick out of it Jordan!
@@MaxZed1101 Its hilarious. You should do more.
@@BlindedBraille thanks. I have a few more fake commercials planned. I've talked to Will and he'll be on the show in the future too playing characters.

This movie was great for kids but it just doesnt age well when you get older and Batman as a IP and DC overal was early on a decline internationally at this time. Batman was more so a 'pop-culture' icon than he was seen as 'the hero' that most 90s kids flocked too. Batman's comeback came after Batman Begins but it came with an even darker public perception than before and more so action orientated. People see the Arkham Games as closest to what Batman is, but id rather give that to Batman TAS. That series is way more psychological and mature than it gets credit for, till this day and even by some fans.
I'd love to see movies more in the vein of the Arkham games. Great comment btw. Love reading your perspective!
@@MaxZed1101 thanks. Ben Affleck couldv played a Arkham Style Batman. His BvS scene in the warehouse is the best Batman fight scene
@@SAsaiyajin I agree with you. Even though I didn't like the theatrical cut of BvS, and neither did the 11 other people who went with me, that fight scene had us in awe. It was right out of the Arkham Games!
Dang, i would have been perfect for the Starship Troopers discussion. 😂
Showgirls!
One of the most interesting movies I've ever seen!
Come on, people! Batman Forever was such an entertaining stuff. That pseudo cyberpunk vision of Gotham was probably my favorite depiction of this city. Val Kilmer was so underappreciated as Batman.
Oh I absolutely agree that it's entertaining stuff. That's why I call it a success, and watch it a few times a year. Kilmer does not get enough love as Batman at all. He really brought his A game to that role, and he almost feels like he's the living embodiment of the late 70s Batman on big screen for me.
I don't blame Joel for this movie (God rest his soul) I mainly blame Warner Bros. They were so afraid of another Batman movie, that parents would've gotten pissed off about for being "too dark" and whatnot, for their kids.
Yeah. I think that Joel for the most part achieved a pretty decent balance with this one. Batman and Robin was a step in the wrong direction, to be mild. I don't think that was his fault either. Michael Uslan, who owns the Batman film rights (he bought them in the 70s, and still owns them to this day) even defended Schumacher for that one. I think WB has a history of screwing things up, and that's why they're in such bad shape today. I've heard multiple horror stories about how insane the work environment is. You can only go on with incompetent executives and a disorganized culture so long until you have to pay the piper. Thanks for your comment Don. I hope you enjoyed my video!
Oh, how very special. 😅
Hahaha. I've been waiting for your reaction to this.
The fuckin' OJ chuckle. 😆 Now I want a s'more.
There were a few times where I wrote scripts and I would put in, "Do creepy laugh." Glad you enjoyed it. It's the last time he's going to be on the show. Even before he died, I figured there was only so much mileage I could get out of the character. It's funny because while I was making the Silver Surfer commercial, I thought, "I hope he doesn't die tomorrow or something," then wouldn't you know what happened that morning? Ha ha ha.
😆😆😆
He’s going to be on Friday’s show for one more appearance
No Showgirls! 😂
We're doing that for a separate episode :)
I'll seriously tell you the honest truth and say this. I really didn't care too much for either of the campy, neon lit Joel Shumacher directed films. It's the Tim Burton's darker toned Batman and Batman Returns movies that I've always enjoyed and appreciated. I just only wish that Tim Burton could have kept this series going with his cancelled Batman Continues project along with Michael Keaton reprising his role as well and perhaps make one or two more after that.
It would have been nice to see how that would have played out.
Funny that when you say "safe modern city", you have a shot of Chambers St NYC
Definitely a mistake on my part by using that shot to make that point. Good eye and observation.
@@MaxZed1101 I was halfway joking. If I wasn't a 52 year old New Yorker, I would've never known. You made no mistake at all. Great video
@@avace917 thank you very much. Glad I was able to entertain you!
Solid review of a flawed movie. I thought you did a good job pointing out both the good and bad of Batman Forever. I recommend either getting a better mic or speaking louder. I had to turn up the volume a fair amount just to hear what you were saying.
Thanks for the advice. I am going to work on getting a better mic. I did have the hardest time with an audio during production.
This was the first Batman movie I saw in the theater I have a soft-spot for it.
It was the second one I saw on home media. I remember what a big deal the movie was commercially when it came out. I have a soft spot for it too, and I think it's worth analyzing its pros and cons. Hope you enjoyed the video!
Awesome movie 😊
Still find the neon gotham some kind of cool, it could work well with the proper story
I agree with you. It was a really cool look. I wish I got into it more in the essay, but I feel like Gotham gradually becomes more prosperous and futuristic looking as time goes on, to show Batman has a positive effect. It's too bad that Batman and Robin clobbered the franchise.
@@MaxZed1101.... exactly. B&R overshadows how decent this one was.
@@kondodurham2599 it’s a shame that the series got so off the rails with that one
Oh, Don't remind me... this is the day that the clown cried...
That movie is probably less tragic than MSK's life.
Amazing
Hey! I'm down for this! 😅
More than a few people have told me they'd watch this.
Brilliant!! 👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you Chris!
I love it! Nuff said!
Thank you!!!
Wow, how'd you get even me to look forward to seeing this! I've never been a big fan of the franchise, but you make it sound engaging enough to want to watch this and the earlier movies, too. Seems like I did see one in a theater once, long ago...that was a lot of fun. Maybe I get that same thing again, with this one. Thank you for the recommendation. You are awesome, by the way. So don't go forgetting that.
Thank you for the kind words!
VERY WELL DONE ANAYSIS, I AGREE WITH MOST OF WHAT U SAID,HOWEVER THE CHASE MERIDIAN CHARACTER 2 ME WASNT THE WASTE U SAY; SHE DID HAVE DEPTH WITH HER PYSCH SKILLS EVIDENT THROUGHOUT & HER LATER DEDUCING BRUCES ALTER EGO ALL& ALL THOUGH A BETTER BATFLICK THAN RETURNS/& ROBIN BOTH OF WHOM ALMOST ENDED THE FRANCHISE 4 GOOD!
Glad you enjoyed it. Maybe I didn't think of it that way before. I really am happy you shared your point of view. I'll have to think about it. I encourage disagreements on my RUclips channel, so a contrary opinion is always welcome. Hope you have a great weekend!
I seen the movie
🖖
Fantastic review as always, my friend! I'm glad you brought up the importance of character and the city being a character itself! Nailed it! - 🃏
I'd never thought of Gotham as a character until you mentioned it. Very smart observation, which is why I made sure you got credit for it.
this trash was not a success
Ok.
If you don't think that batman forever wasn't a financial and commercial success, then you sadly need to reeducate yourself on the movie itself. 😂
It was a success...but i also like batman returns....the penguin cracks me up and shrek and catwoman is s3xy
Yeah, ngl, I love Batman Forever. I can appreciate a superhero movie that just embraces the goofiness. I definitely don't think it's a great movie, but I can't help but enjoy it.
Exactly. I think that it isn't the worst movie ever, the way some people say. I watch it a few times a year because it's highly entertaining. I think that while it deserves critiquing, Joel Schumacher and WB deserve praise for creating a big success. What was your favorite part of Batman Forever?
@@MaxZed1101 Val Kilmer
I still have a hard time finishing this movie. I start it and never finish it.
What makes it such a bad viewing experience in your opinion? Would love to hear what you have to say.
@@MaxZed1101 It's the worst kind of campy Batman. It's not funny or clever and tries way too hard. It feels like brain rot to me.
As a batman fan i love this movie due to childhood nostalgia and a lot of the points you brought up. I feel that though the performances of Carrey and Ford were done well that if you were to compare them to their comic book counterparts that they are nearly different characters. In the books, The Riddler is generally a nuerotic but almost always, besides a few occasions of manic episodes and a couple different iterations, is cold calculating and nearly always reserved. This version of the Riddler is basically Riddler meets the Joker. The same could be said about TwoFace in the film. You nailed most of the points of the character flaws he had but id add that even he seemed to be Jokerfied. Regardless though this film will always have a place in my heart. Good vid and im definitely gonna watch more of your stuff now. Wanna add that im here bc of Emotional Support Monster on Twitter. You and him are Gs
Thank you for the kind words. I like your observations about the Riddler!
Well thought out and balanced retrospective.
Thank you Rosales! I think you can find good and bad jn almost every movie. I think even in total ham fests, like Madame Web and Agent Johnson’s movie it was worth talking about the things that were done right. It can help the next creator learn something and make good media.
