Pigeon deterrent.

A very effective and humane pigeon deterrent. The flapping threads of 8lb fishing line scare them off before they are able to land on the balcony rim. They have been a big problem but fly off in a panic as soon as they approach.

Archie, a Nova Scotian valley bulldog, loves to play, and when he plays he talks. The growling sound ominous but it's all play. Even though his sharp teeth are close to my hand and fingers, he has never once nipped me. I don't know how he does it, other than to say he must be very aware and very careful.

Valley Bulldog Archie is just over three years old. As I sit reading the newspaper each morning he loves to sit beside me hoping I will play with him. When he plays, he growls. With all the growling, snarling and grabbing, I have never felt his teeth. He is amazingly gentle.

I was not part of the tattoo this many years ago unfortunately but this year, 2023, I was part of the choir once again since i joined 9 years ago and had the honor of singing this Swiss anthem, it's gorgeous! As well, the NS tattoo continues to have the best O Canada in the world 😊

You are very welcome. From having my balcony regularly visited by hoards of pigeons with all their mess, I instantly went to zero. There are lots of deterrents on RUclips but the comments made about this method were all very positive and persuasive. The downside is that it really needs to be installed and maintained by the occupant. It is not robust enough for the building management to install then forget about it. They would have to return to repair broken lines, those returns costing a lot of money. So, if you are prepared to install and maintain it yourself, this is a superb method.

+Paul Henry Dallaire Thanks, Paul. The market which drew the people that day is now gone, another replacing it in another part of town. Nova Scotia has many such gatherings, though, where musical groups provide entertainment just for the fun of it. There is a lot of musical talent locally.

My parents are from Mill Village. I spent a lot of time there visiting my grandparents, when I was a kid.

I'm from this area, and even though it's beautiful and peaceful, it's not enough to keep younger generations around, there isn't enough work offered in the surrounding areas, that was my reason for leaving.
