What is Populism? A Discussion With Charles Postel

Are these two diametrically opposed politicians bot...

    Hello! Excellent video! I’ve recently started a RUclips channel called Idols of the Cave where I discuss Jean Gebser’s The Ever-Present Origin. If you’re familiar with his work, I’m sure you could see why your opening statement “where we attempt to look at the world rationally so that the world can look back rationally at us” piqued my interest. Though I am a layman, I still think we could have a great discussion. I think Gebser’s work, without hyperbole or pretense, could save civilization. When you asked the guest about the “rejection of the principles of the enlightenment”, I feel I could adequately explain Gebser’s direct explanation of this phenomenon, which is both unique and profound. I also believe I can offer an explanation of the anxiety our civilization faces and the birth of the new political philosophy to come. We can always make connections in the modern political context, too. Everyone engages with rationalism indirectly, but Gebser hands us the tools to tackle it directly. I believe I can relate Gebser’s teachings directly to political events of the day and the questions you posed to your guest in this episode, which will offer clarity in turn. I will not lie and pretend that you will have anything to gain from this in terms of subscribers or views, but I think it would be a fruitful and fulfilling discussion that will generate interesting conversation. If you choose to decline, no hard feelings. Keep up the great work!

    Graham E. Fuller hates America. He hates democracy. He hates freedom. He loves dictators like Putin, Xi Jinping, Victor Orban, the Ayatollah, Kim Jong Un, and Nicolas Maduro. The bottom line: he thinks the world would be a better place if the USA didn't exist. He's a self-hating American.

  • @saini1976
    @saini1976 7 месяцев назад

    This didn't age well. Graham E. Fuller is an American but he hates everything America stands for. He even hates America so much he decided he could no longer stand to live in the USA so he moved to Canada. (I'm 100% serious. Google it.) He hates NATO and he is an apologist for Putin, Xi Jinping, and all the other despotic totalitarian dictators who rule with an iron fist. He wants Russia, China, and other evil tyrannical, murderous dictatorships to be stronger and the USA and NATO to be weaker. I think he is truly an evil man. He is the devil.

    Democracy is mob rule. It is two wolves and a sheep voting on what’s for dinner. It is an immoral modality of society that presupposes that forcing the will of an ostensible majority on a minority is acceptable. It is not. A man is not free in that he can choose a new master once in a term of years.

    Labour before they were captured by the rich and the woke racists was strongly against the EU - back when they actually represented the working class. Anyone who believes the Brexit vote was nativist rather than economic is an ignorant fool and not worth listening to. You know they are very well off and so self absorbed they are blind to what is actually happening in Britain and cant think beyond what the propaganda papers tell them the reason for Brexit was, in short snappy sound bites to make them angry. Obviously, they ignore all the detailed research on what caused the Brexit vote, as that goes against the narrative. Dont bother with this video.

    • @arostwocents
      @arostwocents 9 месяцев назад

      And don't tell me woke isn't a racist ideology - I am ex homeless and was denied support based on race. That is the definition of racism. The first question on the emergency support line in my town was "ethnicity?" - there was no second question, they replied to my answer that they could not help. I called back and pretended I was Iraqi and got offered a taxi to a hotel that night. Woke is the most dangerous and racist ideology since the 30s - it's so insidious precisely because it tricks the deeply ignorant, who believe they are deeply intelligent, that it is the exact opposite of what it is.

    Je me rappelle de monsieur James Sheehan ayant dit un jour qu’un historien ne commençait par le début mais par la fin; il semble que monsieur Sheehan ait oublié ce qu’il a dit lui-même. La question n’est pas tellemment sur le possible retour de l’Allemagne comme grande puissance, la question que monsieur d’Agostino a posé, mais plutôt, comment l’Allemagne en est-elle arrivé là oû elle est.

    Yes. It's a fascinating discussion indeed between two gentlemen who know China and Russia well and are prepared to see the world as they are impartially. Ironically, US has pushed both Russia and China together into a rather unlikely relationship. The current leadership in CCP or CPC is really not out to dominate the world in the way US (or collective West) has been in the last hundreds of years. Both the West sees China's rise in its own image. CPC leadership is focused on with its own domestic problems and repeatedly said it's prepared to work with the West for mutual benefits and to be a constructive and not destructive force. In fact, US can ride on China's economic rise as it has with the economic rise of Japan, S Korea, Taiwan and EU.
