How to make a 'Strips on Point' Quilt
Fabulous as I have lots given to me.
Thank you so much! I am new and was looking for an easy way to join binding. My prior attempts left excess binding. ❤
This is absolutely wonderful. How did you iron on the rounded parts of the puzzle pieces before sewing? Thank you. Smiles, Cely in Florida
It would be much more helpful if the camera was over your shoulder instead of demonstrating a mirror image!
You are brilliant. I love this. I teach a quilt class and take my rulers with me all the time. Thank you
Very thorough and well done. Thank you for making this easy.
You are welcome, have fun making it!
This is stunning. Thank you for the easy approach and your extra care to explain the process.
You are very welcome! Thank you.
The mug rugs inspired me to make a slightly larger "snack mats" for kids. Not as big as a placemat, but just right for a cup of milk and a couple cookies or a bit of fruit!
That is a brilliant idea, would you mind if I use this theme later?
@@sewsmartwithelizabeth286 Go ahead, the more ideas we share, the better!!!
Absolutely beautiful! You have inspired me to go gather doilies 🥰 Thank you for your clear instructions ❤

I just found this tutorial & I appreciate the sincerity of your confidence in explaining the techniques used in making this block.I’m hoping to find, out by watching more of your videos, who won the quilt blocks.
Thank you! I don't quite understand about the quilt blocks?
@ You had said that your quilt quilt made squares and someone won them. That’s all. At the time I didn’t realize this video was posted 3 yrs ago.

It is really simple, do remember I would love to see any photos of your work with this. Happy Sewing.
Gorgeous cushion, thank you for creating the video. If you do any natural dying, the off cuts that are stained can be added to a dye bath of something like tea, avocado skins/pits or onion skins, with a variety of other fabrics and laces, and used for another project made up of a number of different pieces from the dye bath.
That's very helpful information. Thank you.
I'm new to sewing (I'm 28 and I've picked up the hobby this past year) and I'm not very good but your videos are always super helpful. I think you are so lovely and teach so well. Thank you!!!

The backing fabric is just cream Homespun. It is generally available in most fabric stores. I would love to see your work with your Grandmother's doilies when you have completed it! Kind Regards, Elizabeth

Thank you, Elizabeth, for your stippling tutorial. I have been a fan of stippling for many years. I took a class from Harriet Hargrave and it's always my first choice when I quilt. I love it's soft, vintage look. I am so happy to have found you, my new friend! ❤
Welcome and thank you for your kind words!
Beautiful
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it!
This is so helpful! I am struggling with the binding. Back to my sewing machine, but I bet I will be successful this time.
That is so good to hear, thank you!
Excellent!
Thank you!
So happy to hear that. I love the Cathedral window. Do post a photo when you have finished, would love to see it. ❤️
Love this idea. I have many doilies from my grandma. Did you machine stitch the doilies or hand stitch them on? Beautiful!’
I machine stitched as far as possible, and any remaining edges that still were not secure, I hand stitched. Happy you loved the idea.
I've made the quilt up to the point where you put the "window" squares in & topstitch. My problem is that there is a quite noticeable lump where the seams are joined underneath the windows. Can you suggest a way to soften these or hide them. Would a square of batting help under the window?
See if you can flare out the seams a little where they all join underneath. This can eliminate too much thickness and avoids the lump. Sometimes if the seams are all pressed in the same direction it can create this problem.
These cushion covers are absolutely exquisite. Thank you for sharing this advice.
Thank you. They make a lovely keepsake for future generations too.
Thank you!
You make that look so easy
Thank you. Now it seems too difficult for me, I’m not a wizard with sewing with the machine but I’ll watch your tutorials and hope to learn
I love your tutorials. They are easy to follow and very informative. Thank you Elizabeth all the way from Texas!!
Thank you! I am in Australia, but have relatives in Texas, lovely to hear from you!
