My right hand is in this ad for all of 1 second! That's it holding the wine glass at the table on the right towards the end. And my mates are prancing around the leading couple on the dance floor.. This was around '86, in the Summerville hotel in Enniskerry. Of course, I'd told everyone I was gonna be on TV, and they cut me right out of the frame, so I ended up being called The Man With The Famous Right Hand. Happy days! :¬))
It's funny that the ESB, which was a state run company at the time and had a monopoly on the electricity market, had to advertise at all. Your options were to go with ESB or candles :-D seems like a waste of money haha
Something about these adverts that is missing from some of the more contemporary ads, sadly. And I do not mean the ESB, but rather advertising in general.
Remember this growing up. When my son was born I used to think of this on the night feeds
Sad 😔
This wouldn't go down well today, the feminists would have a fit.

Sure why would I buy Night Saver? It's brands all my dishes and t-shirts with that massive feckin logo.
A advert that is worth bring back to television screens again from the mid-late 1980's.
Still a popular advert during Christmas even in more recent years.
Not by a band, by Desmond Dekker may he rest in peace.
