Was hoping for a tear-down, actually. Timing & triggering & location are the matters that would constitute an explanation. This maker's device also appears to have very good workmanship (unlike the mass produced imitations out there).

How does it know when to pulse the magnet? Is there a sensor somewhere? I thought it might check if the two wires are electrically connected (by the conductive ball), but it seems that the wires touch anyway.

It it were just a magnet, wouldnt it attract the marble, speeding it up on the way down, but then keep attracting it, slowing its “jump” back into the funnel?

Someone needs to design a quiet version of this. The sound would get annoying and it's the first tipoff it isn't a perpetual motion machine if you don't include physics as a clue 😂 I think I'd also give it a wireless charger if it doesn't have one already. Maintain the magic when someone picks it up by hiding obvious electronics.
